Fast Deployment Highly stain and wear resistant, 420J stainless steel is excellent for use where 'flex' is desirable as in fish fillet knives. 420J is highly corrosion resistant, almost impossible to rust, very durable, and ideal for marine environments. Suited for knife blades with light to medium use, 420J is a general purpose, fine-blankable stainless steel with good manufacturability and resharpening capacity.	Attractive Blade Finish When a knife design requires a lighter blade to highlight the steel, Kershaw often applies a satin finish. Satin finishes, whether machine-generated or otherwise, leave faint patterns of lines on the steel, and while they sand away the steel’s brightness, they do not remove it as completely as do other finishes. A satin finish also helps reduce evidence of stains and scratches on the blade. what a piece of crap!! I used this knife only once and put it back on my tackle table which is inside and the thing rusted to the point that it was hard to get open. The screw that holds it together rusted.?? i mean..what the??
A year and a half later this thing is self destructing. Had to throw it out as it's now too dangerous to use. Opened it up and it won't stay open..

This knife has a nice waterproof handle and of coarse its made by Kershaw, so its one of the best ones you can purchase because they stand behind what they make. I had a knife right out of the package that I dropped directly on the tip and it snapped/ broke off when it hit the concrete surface. It was my fault because I am clumsy and they replaced it for free. I told them what happened and shipped it to them and they fixed/replaced it, Just like new! So I have become a Kershaw guy I guess, good quality and great service, cant ask for anything more.

MAVinWA : Lots play in the blade fit when in locked out position to use.

a little disappointed with first impression. Fillet knife was packed well. However when you open the blade, it does NOT SOLIDLY lock in place for use. Lots of wobble to the blade in locked out position, as if Kershaw forgot to add spacers between end of handle where blade mounts and "locks" into.
Sharpness was just ok, I'd rate a 5/10 out of package. I put it on Worksharp hand hone and got it super sharp. Will test how long it holds this super sharp edge.

we'll see how it holds up on my next fishing "grocery" trip. The knife will get a workout on salmon, rockfish fillets.
Future feedback to follow afterwards, in regards to performance, holding an edge, etc.
