Does it use batteries or plug into the wall?

Answer: No batteries required! ! Just simply use it to plug into the power outlet, wait for 30 Seconds for the sealer preheating, then place the open end of the bag into the sealer, press the sealer just for second, start to sealing, then operation completed!

Will this work on bags of salad?

Answer: I just tested it on an iceberg lettuce salad bag and it worked. It did NOT work on the bag of Krusteaz pancake mix, however (not that you asked).

Answer: I have used the heat sealer on a lot of different plastic bags. If the salad bag is very thin, be careful not to hold the sealer on too long as it may melt the plastic instead of sealing it.

Answer: I haven’t use it on shrink wrap but it does get really hot and melt the plastic

Can this be used on bubble wrap padding to make envelopes?

Answer: I believe so. I use it with ziploc bags and many other material. Main thing is to pay attention to the heat. This product will reach a high heat so some times it is best, on lighter materials, to use it while its heating up the as it cools.

Answer: I haven't tried it on anything but the mylar bags, but it works great sealing those.

Does it work for shrink wrap bags?

Answer: Sorry, this product cannot shrink packaging bags.

Does it come with the polka dot bags?

Answer: This heat sealer only comes by itself. I'm sure that you can foind bags to use with it. BUT this heat sealer is terrific for resealing snack bags, and almost any plastic bag that you want to keep the insides fresh. I have used it to seal different bags and even to make air pillows for packages that I need to mail or ship. I sealed some contractor trash bags and used them to insulate furniture being shipped interstate. For the price, This is a great tool to have in the house.

Answer: I would say no. The heat sealer works best for thicker plastic bags. The sealer will get way too hot for such delicate work with shrink wrap. Besides the best shrink wrap should self-seal without extra effort on your part.

Answer: I would say that this item can be used with a wide variety of materials though personally, I wouldn't use it with shrinkwrap. Perhaps one could but you'd have to test for timing. Shrinkwrap would barely take a second to join together and form a seal. It would also depend on how your using it.

Answer: No because it doesn't extract extra air like a bag sealer meant. for repackaging meat etc.

How wide a bag can this seal?

Answer: The width is a little bigger than the tube of peanuts you get in a convenience store. I just seal it from one side and then flip the bag and seal it from the other. I was really surprised at how well it worked to be honest. And a small size is nice because it's not cumbersome to store. It seals so quickly that having to do it twice once from each side is not a hassle at all.

Can this seal plastic popsicle bags?

Answer: That's what it's for. It's small. I sealed 50 bads for a bridal shower. You have to let it warm up for a long time (10 mins) and then squeeze the ends together. I used a silicon glove to hold it tight. Held it for 60 seconds and voila, they came out looking really professional.

We are sealing cookies in sleeves. This wasn't the best choice. The price was attractive but we ended up buying a more expensive larger higher watt unit and are very happy with our upgrade one.

Small and compact. Comes in its own little carry case. Works as advertised.

Kaleena Heuer : Good product, just be careful about what you want to seal closed.

Heats up quickly, but slightly inconvenient to use for bags you want to reopen and try to close again because you're not finished using it up yet, once reopened, it's difficult to open without ripping the bag... Best for chip bag type of plastic. Thinner type of plastic melts onto the sealer and then has to be scraped off when cooled. It does seal like it says, a good product for the money, it just depends on what you want to seal.. No bread bags or Ziplock brand type of plastic.

I got this for sealing individual cookies in cello bags & it works great, it’s just a matter of playing around with it. There’s no temp control, but it gets hotter the longer it’s plugged in. I tried it on both cello & 1.4 mil poly bags & got the best seal when I heated it for 30 mins & clamped it for 5 secs. I also pressed down on it because the plates don’t meet as well at the tip. The outside casing gets pretty hot, so be careful; I used a paper towel. At first, I heated it for 10 mins but had to hold it clamped for 15 secs. Personally, I’d rather let it heat longer & spend less time on each bag. This is going to be a real time saver for me!

Great product, only gave it 4 stars because sometime you have to clamp it a long time to get a good seal, or go over the same area a few times. In the end it does seal all my bag shut, and I love that it is crimped.

I like the sealer. It was relatively easy to use and clean, and it did the job. It worked well but it needs a bit of the bag to seal so you cannot add as much as you think if it is liquid or paste. It was not clear how much space you should leave so that pastes (food) did not seep out into the tool. I have not used it much as I purchased it to seal little tubes of chocolate for a trip. Best of all, it does not take up much space to store it.

This mini food bag sealer is the cutest little device ever! and it works so well! I went around the house trying to find all the opened bags of chips, cookies, etc that I can to try this little sealer on and loved it! It worked so well and heats up fast. Reminds me of a hair crimpler, but for plastic bags instead. I would recommend.

Works great - better than I expected. The only issue is that after about 6 minutes it gets too hot at which point it will melt the bags. I turn it off, and continue to seal and turn it back on when it cools a bit. For the money, its perfect for a few bags. Maybe add thermal management and sell it for 15? Oh, a longer version would be great too.

I think this would be great for small bags however; it did not work on any of my larger chip bags it didn’t meet in the middle. I felt dumb trying to use it, and I’m pretty smart. My daughter tried to open the one small bag I did manage to get closed and it tore open and chips went everywhere leaving a huge hole that was unrepairable and so used a ziploc bag anyway, I think if you are using small sealable individual bags it would work but it doesn’t really work on everyday use like chips and pretzels in our busy family.

This is perfect for sealing smaller poly bags for Amazon product prep! I used to use a larger commercial sealer for all my prep, but it was bulky and not so mobile. With this puppy I can use an extension cord, sit on the couch, and quickly seal small poly bags while watching my favorite Tv shows!

The product is good for the value of money, but there are some things that could be improved on here... it takes a while to heat up and because there is no heat dail it can get to hot to the point you can't use it without melting the bag... I found it best to let it heat up and unplug it for a few then use it while it cools.. it could also be longer , but overall good for the price to get that professional seal.

It gets to hot very fast. It just melted the mailer. Made a melted mess in the sealer.
Had to pry it open.
Melted the bag edges off but did not seal.
And it is very small.

Switches are not marked so you have to guess how to use, and how long to seal.

I am using poly and cello bags to seal pretzels, cookies, popcorn and chocolates.
Not happy with item. Will be returning.
