Answer: This handheld induction sealer uses the principle of electromagnetic induction for sealing, not vacuum. If the material of the wide-mouthed ball jars is glass, the sealing effect is not good. Please do not use Induction Sealer for sealing metal containers.

letmepicyou : Takes a little effort to learn.

The instructions that come with this are pretty...meh. From them, though, I gathered that smaller bottles require higher power level settings (kind of counter intuitive). There's no chart that specifies container size and gives power and time settings, so you pretty much have to figure it out with trial and error.

But, with a little experimentation, I did get it to work pretty well with the included test samples. It would be nice to see an assortment of sealing foils provided for better out-of-the-box usability. Other than the so-so instructions, I found this actually works pretty well once you get it figured out. If you need to foil-cap seal your own bottles, this will definitely do that job for you.
