Questions about GUCUJI Pack of 5 Premium Non Stick Silicone Dehydrator Sheets for Fruit Dryer Mesh
Q:
Are these as good as the mats that come in the excaliber
Answer: No these are not as good as the ones that come with the Excalibar. They are thicker and the holes are smaller. I felt that the air did not circulate through them nearly as well as the ones that come with the Excalibar.
Q:
Has someone tried growing small microgreens on them?
Answer: I use these combined with paper towels to grow microgreens. They work well by themselves for varieties with larger seeds like pea sprouts, but for smaller seeds like arugula, you'll need some sort of media to keep the seeds from falling through the holes in the sheets. Hope this helps
Answer: That’s exactly my question too. I might be giving it a try.
Answer: No
Q:
Can these sheets be used on a cookie sheet for dehydrating cranberries in an oven using the dehydrate setting?
Answer: Yes, but put 5hese sheets on a cookie rack to let the air flow underneath the food you’re drying.
Q:
Are these teflon-free?
Answer: ❤ Safety- BPA Free,FDA Approved, Made from Premium Non Stick heat-resistant(-40C-180C) food grade Silicone
Answer: They are made from silicone
Answer: Yes it's silicon
Answer: Yes
Q:
What is the base material, underneath the silicone?
Answer: It all the same material
Q:
Will these sheets stop the extra liquid from reaching the motor?
Answer: what extra liquid? what motor, motor is covered
Answer: No, these have holes in them to improve air circulation. They will not hold liquids.
Answer: It is small open mesh so liquid can seep through it. It's good to keep small pieces from going through, but not liquids.
Answer: Liquid with drip through from tomatoes but I have a drip pan to catch it. They work great but juicy fruits and veggies to drip through the mesh.
Q:
How many come in one order?
Answer: 5 sheets per pack.
Q:
Can these be used in fermenting crock?
Answer: Probably.
Q:
dehydrating backpacking meals, thick soups and stews etc. Will these provide adequate airflow top and bottom? so I don't have to flip meals midway
Answer: Absolutely I love these things and as long as your product you are dehydrating isn’t more than a 1/4 of an inch thick you will not have to flip them. When I make jerky or pumpkin pie pudding I do not flip as before. Hope this helps.
Answer: I have used it to dehydrate a lot of different produce and I haven't had to flip anything. Everything works great.
Answer: Yes
Q:
can these be used to wrap meat and bake at high temperature
Answer: They are dehydrated sheets so I don't know how high a temperature they can take. I use at 130 degrees F.
Answer: The heat rating is 180 C or 350 F. So they would not be suitable for this task.
Answer: No these are for dehydrating
Answer: I don’t t believe so. It’s plastic.
Answer: This is plastic. It would melt.
Answer: I would say no but you can contact the mfg for better information
Q:
Do these work to make fruit leather?
Answer: although they are more capable of holding fruit, they will drain thru the strainers without parchment paper. I have used them for dried fruits, and beef Jerkey, and they do well. They don't stick to the fabric, but take care if you try fruit leather without a base underneath, as the liquids will fall thru... Hope that helps
Q:
Do these contain ptfe?
Answer: I'm not sure what PTFE is but I know I would have been better off buying parchment paper it was just five sheets of paper rolled up not happy with it at all
Q:
Are these good for the nutrichrf dehydrator
Answer: they work great for mine. But my racks are completely square. You need to know your dimensions, and the dimensions of the GUCUJI pack. If you can cut them oval and they fit, you should be fine. But if your oval type racks are larger than the silicone packs, forget about it......
Q:
How do you wash these mats? Just regular dish detergent and water?
Answer: Right on the button. You can use regular dish soap, or let them soak in dish soap and hot water. Very easy to clean.
Answer: Yes, Just regular dish detergent and warm water.
Answer: Yes, soap and water.
Answer: Yes, sometimes it's easier if you let them soak in the hot soapy water for a bit. And a brush is needed once in awhile.
Answer: Yes, just like dishes
Answer: That's all. You can speed up the process using your dehydrator on a low setting.
Answer: Yes. I've put them in the dishwasher with no issue.
Answer: That is how i fo it
Q:
Will the holes in the mesh stop dehydrated corn from falling through.
Answer: The holes are small. I purchased these mesh sheets for dehydrating, but have not used them yet. I'm planning on trying them out for veggies that are a little bigger than kernels of corn. I have never dehydrated corn. If the kernels are whole, I wouldn't think they would fall through. However, if there are pieces of kernel, they might. Have you thought about Non stick Teflon sheets? I use those when drying blueberries etc. Check Amazon for Homey sheets. I believe both types of sheets work Great. I'd buy both. Then you are prepared for anything. Good luck
Answer: This is a very fine mesh. I'm assuming you are starting with fresh corn kernels and want to dehydrate them. No, fresh corn kernels will not fall through. Good luck and enjoy your dehydrator.
Answer: The holes are pretty small. I’ve never dehydrated corn but I don’t believe it would be a problem
Answer: I purchased 2 packages of these sheets and I love them! They clean up easy, are pliable so it makes "funneling" the food from the sheet into the jar a breeze. Most foods do not go through the grid with the exception of the very tiniest. I use a solid tray (i.e. leather tray) on the very bottom of dehydrator to capture any thing that might have slipped through just in case. But realize the items that slip through are infinitesimal in size. I recommend these to every one.
Answer: Yes, holes are a lot smaller than corn
Answer: Mine didn't fall through when I did it. If your kernels are whole, they won't.
Answer: Yes. Last summer I blanched extra ears we had cut it from the cob & dried it. When done drying just fold in half & pour in canning jars. I dry herbs, veggies, flowers & such all the time. Love these sheets.
Answer: yes
Q:
Description says these are coated with silicone. What is underneath the silicone?
Answer: That would be a question for the seller or the manufacturer. Amazon does not always provide those links (eBay does always) we need to ask amazon customer service to provide them. You can ask by chat. The other possibility would be to look on the internet for the product. That would have details like you are asking. This is a link to customers.
Q:
do you sell these 21.5 “ x 16” ?
Answer: That is a question for the seller. Look for the link on the posting. This is a question to customers. If you don’t find it go to Amazon customer service they will sometimes provide it.
Q:
Where are these made?
Answer: China
Q:
Totally off topic, but would these work to grow microgreens on?
Answer: Yes, but small seeds like arugula and broccoli will fall through.
Answer: I would not recommend it
Q:
Can these be used in the microwave? The description says “silicon coated mesh, is the mesh metal?
Answer: They’re all silicone, microwave safe
Q:
Would these work in a smoker at temps around 165⁰?
Answer: I would not know for a smoker. I only know I have used these in the dehydrator for long periods at 165 F with no issues. They've been great. Maybe just get one package and try a sheet. Then, no matter the results, you can still use the rest for a dehydrator, if you have one. Maybe the seller or manufacturer can answer this.
Answer: It's say it will work in a smoker to 428 f no flame just smoke so I think it would be safe
Answer: Its silicon but probably not. The mesh is thin
Answer: Yes.
Answer: Probably.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Will these work for drying dill?
Answer: Probably if it is the whole leaf. But ground up might not work
Answer: Yes any plant or frut
Q:
Do I need these mats just to dry apples?
Answer: No. Just small pieces that can fall through your regular trays when they dry. I used mine for minced onions and peppers that were chopped small. My regular trays worked fine for apples.
Answer: No, you do not need "mats" or dehydrator sheets to dry apples. Only very small pieces like blueberries or mashes like fruit leather. Use the mats only when necessary because they do restrict the air flow somewhat more than just the drying trays do.
Answer: Not sure what you mean....but do you NEED these to dry apples? No........but you'll WANT them to dry apples or anything else you want to dehydrate. Saves so much time in clean up. Nothing sticks to them, you can cut them to fit your dehydrator and to me, they are a lifesaver.
Answer: We use them on top of the dehydrator drying rack because the fruit does not stick to it like they sometimes do to the racks by themselves. Our dehydrator is round, just cut to shape.
Answer: It is not a necessity for apples, but it sure makes it easier. Apples, in my experience, do not stick to the trays as much as other fruits and/or vegetables. And the slices are large enough that there is no problem with them falling through the spaces in the dryer racks. I like the fact that I can pick up the entire sheet once they are finished, fold it in half, and dump into what ever I am using for storage.
Q:
What is the safe temperature range for these sheets?
Answer: -40℃~180℃
Q:
Are this stiff so I could cut it in a circle and place in the top of a 1 qt canning jar lid, but use it for sprouting?
Answer: No, they are not stiff. They are a flexible silicone. However, I believe that if you cut a circle bigger than the mouth of the jar and twisted the canning jar lid over the sheet it might work for your purpose.
Answer: Not really a wise move. They are very pliable, with the ability to fold each one four times. Easily washable, and easy to fill openings in your racks. A must have, but not a wise idea to use under a canning jar lid. Almost certain the product would rip right up when you tightened the top.
Answer: Yes for sure! I use ball 24oz wide mouth jars and you can get 9+ sprouting screens per sheet. Works very well
Answer: They are not real stiff
Answer: These are soft silicone type sheets, not stiff.
Q:
Hi would these work in deyhdrator for sunflower, pumpkin and smaller seeds to keep them from falling through the trays? Thanks so much!!
Answer: The opening in the mesh is about 1/16th of an inch. The seeds you mention... sunflower and pumpkin would work out fine.
Answer: Yes, I dry all kind of herbs & flowers. Pumpkin & sunflower are ok. Poppy seeds and that size would be too small.
Answer: I've used these as well as the round ones (started using the round mesh ones when my first dehydrator stopped working). Both of them prohibit seeds such you have described from falling through the trays. Interestingly, I never realized how much I would use a dehydrator until I bought one. Hope you enjoy yours.
Answer: Yes, for the most part. I really like these sheets for their flexibility and small sized holes. I put a solid fruit leather sheet in the bottom tray to catch anything that might get through these. I give these 5 stars.
Answer: Mesh size is 1x1mm, as long as it is larger than it will not fall.
Answer: Yes they work awesome. Tight mesh plastic.
Answer: Yes. Not much would fall through these. Very small pinholes.
Answer: Sure will fine mesh like window screen.
Q:
Are these mats dishwasher-safe?
Answer: Yes, they are safe.
Answer: Not sure. I wash them in the sink. But they seem like they would be.
Q:
Do this sheets ship rolled up or flat? I only ask because every time I order similiar items in the mail they come rolled and never lay flat after.
Answer: I honestly do not remember how they were shipped. I store mine rolled up and they always lay flat when I use them. Not one time has it been an issue to lay flat.
Answer: Mine came folded but they didn't hold the crease. They layed flat without any problem.
Answer: They come folded up, but flattened out within an hour of opening them and laying them down.
Answer: They are folded into quarters in a bag. I use them all the time, they are great. Easy to clean
Answer: They were folded when they arrived. I threw them in the dishwasher and when I took them out, they laid flat.
Q:
Why use them at all? The dehudrator has fine mesh shelves.
Answer: Mine did not have enough of the fine mesh and some small things would fall through the regular trays.
Answer: I use these because they help keep foods that I dehydrate from sticking to the shelves. The silicone sheets can be washed at the sink and there have been times that I've put them in with a load of wash. So much easier than having to wash the dehydrator shelves. Hope this helps....
Answer: If you order a seed sprouter tray with larger holes (you really can't tell from a picture of the tray the size of the holes), smaller seeds will fall trough the holes. You need the sheets to hold smaller seeds. I did not use the sheets for a fruit dryer.
Answer: They seem to be more non stick than the wire rack. But it's a personal decision.
Answer: I use the sheets for drying soaked nuts and seeds!
Q:
Are the holes small enough to prevent coffee beans from falling through?
Answer: Yes, these holes are small enough that you don't have to worry about the coffee beans falling.
Answer: Coffee beans can not fall through. Very small holes.
Answer: yes they are very small.
Answer: Only if you grind your coffee very coarsely, I use these primarily to ferment cabbage into sauerkraut, kimchi.
Answer: Yes. I love these things. I dehydrate a lot of stuff. Parsley, I left it in leaf form and crushed them after drying.
Answer: Certainly are, like a fine screen. Flies couldn't get through.
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Answer: yes
Q:
Where are they made?
Answer: I'm not sure because I no longer have the packaging but I think they're made in China. They work really well.
Q:
What’s the dimensions?
Answer: About 14" by 24". I'm not exact because all I have left of mine are the trimmings left after in cut mine to fit my Harvester dehydrator.
Q:
What is the reason for these being sticky and leaving a sticky film on my fingers?
Answer: I haven't experienced this not sure what you are asking.
Q:
Can these be trimmed without issues or will it ruin the coating?
Answer: I trimmed these to fit my dehydrator without any problems at all. It looks to be the same material throughout so no apparent damage.
Answer: Absolutely you can cut them! They are not coated by silicone throughout.
Answer: I personnaly have trimmed all 5 sheets and haven't had an issue as of yet.
Answer: cut mine into a circle with a circle in the center - no issues works fine for my round dehydrators
Answer: Yes, they can be Trimmed to fit your dehydrator trays.
Answer: Yes these can be trimmed with no degradation of product or performance. I trimmed mine to fit my ovation and I love them. Easy to use and clean. Definitely recommend this product.
Answer: Yes, they can be trimmed quite easily. I’m haven’t yet but plan on doing so. They work great for my oven set on dehydrator setting. Easy clean up as well.
Answer: I trimmed mine, they are still fine even after a light wash & rinse.
Answer: Yes, you can trim these
Answer: I trimmed mine any don't see or experience any difference.
Q:
I have washed and washed these. They are so sticky and it will not wash off. Why???
Answer: The stickiness is a property of silicon products. It won't go away.. The Food doesn't stick to it. It washes easily. And it's harmless.
Answer: I'm guessing with my answer...if hot, soapy water soaking doesn't do the trick, perhaps the plastic is old and needs replacing. (Some old plastics will stay sticky, no matter how much you wash them.) One more thing you can try as a test, if it's safe (check the label): try a LITTLE of the product Goo-Gone on a sticky part. It's usually for non-food sticky adhesive removal. Then wash REALLY well. If still sticky, I'm guessing your plastic may just be old and degraded from use and need replacing. You don't want plastic getting into your foods. Hope my comments help!
Answer: I use these mats in my dehydrator. The vegetables just fall off. I’m not having a sticky issue. You might contact the seller to see if they would send you additional mats
Q:
Will these work in any dehydrator
Answer: They should work in any dehydrator as long as the food trays are smaller than the sheet size. You just cut the sheets to fit your particular tray size and shape.
Answer: You may have to cut them to size. Otherwise you could use them in any square shaped dehydrator tray.
Answer: Test. They are very easy to cut
Q:
Are these dishwasher safe?
Answer: I do not own a dishwasher so I cannot answer this
Q:
Would these work with a Ninja foodi if I cut them to size?
Answer: I don't know what a Ninja food is.
Product reviews of GUCUJI Pack of 5 Premium Non Stick Silicone Dehydrator Sheets for Fruit Dryer Mesh
Katherine Diane Lewis : .
Great quality, cut able.
Melanie Wolf : Absorbs odors.
The shape was perfect for my dehydrator trays. It worked great for my very first round of sliced mushrooms. The problem is even after washing it in Dawn and then with some bleach water my trays still smell like mushrooms. Decided to do a round a citrus fruit. Worried that it's going to taste like mushrooms. Was not expecting the trays to absorb the smell of the food.
Jeff : Wait for it- read my entire review.
Ok these sheets are durable, flexible, extremely nonstick and easy to use BUT the mesh is too fine. It does not allow for good air flow. It more than doubled the processing time of my fruit in my Cabela’s 50 quart dehydrator. Great idea but poor design. I really wanted these to work but it is a fail!
Kindle Customer : Works for Jerky!
i got these for my cosori dehydrator 'cause it came with only one. but i ran a batch of beef jerky with all of them and there was no need to scrub the grills cause these are easily washable.
CJ Taylor : FLIMSY AND HARD TO WORK WITH
I just received these yesterday, and they are very flimsy, thin, and were folded into a small package which gave the flips and creases. They were very hard to cut down to the size I needed due to this. I put them under a cutting board in between the dehydrater trays in hopes of flattening them out.
eric schexnayder : Holes are to small for a dehydrator. It takes twice as long to dehydrate anything.
I purchased these as a replacement for the sheets on my Excalibur dehydrator. The holes in the sheets are smaller than the original sheets from Excalibur and it takes twice as long to dehydrate.
TimsWoodArt : These silicone sheets are really needed if you have a dehydrator.
I went on a dehydrator binge and nothing sticks. I measured the overall size and drew the cut line with a ball point pen, then easily cut with a pair of scissors. I put each one on a rack and traced the center hole. Then I lightly folded and snipped in the circle I followed the line 1/8" or one square outside the line. It perfectly fit.
I peeled and cleaned a 3 pound bag of garlic, and with a small food processor chopping really fine. With a silicone spatula I spread it over each rack. Everything just peels off. I even did the same thing with a 3 pound bag of onions for dried chopped onions. The odor from garlic and onion is pretty strong.
Easy to clean and should last for years.
I'm growing as many herbs and spices to replace all my store bought.
These silicone sheets are really needed if you have a dehydrator.
I purchased two, to line every rack and I am glad I did.
capnkid : great for the price
I ordered these to go with my dehydrator. I was given one sheet on my 6 rack container. I ordered the five and they are perfect. Easy to wash, very bendable, and as advertised, the do not stick. Made my second batch of beef jerky, and was able to lift them right off the sheets with no sticking. They have many holes for the heat transfer, and work excellent. My next project will be to make trail mix and test the no sticking properties to make sure it was not a fluke. But to not have any pieces of my jerky stick tells me that the dried fruit won't be a problem either. Great product for the price. ENJOY
Kindle Customer : It's just what I needed
I wanted to use this as liners in my dehydrator, as I only had 3 mats for my 9 trays. It works great!
Rick Buckham : Great addition
The air flow with the mats in my dehydrator has made a huge difference in the time it takes to dry food especially jerky which is why I got the dehydrator.
Amazon Customer : It’s a gift
Wait until Christmas and I’ll you know. It’s a gift.
michael coldiron : But these!
I bought these to use while making dehydrated food on a box fan! We have made jerky and dehydrated a variety of fruit.. these mats work amazingly! They are great quality, super easy to use, and cleaning them is hassle free (I wash them by hand). I consider them a good value for money since I could not find mats like this locally that weren’t $20 for one or two. They aren’t showing any wear after three-four months, but if they do I’d be glad to buy more!!
James B. Purdie : Great product
I made cauliflower popcorn and they worked great! Some of the items were small and I didn't want them to fall through. Loved how they cleaned up easy and dried quickly. Would definitely recommend to keep your shelves clean too. Love them so far.
KMiller : They work great!! I highly recommend them.
I wasn’t sure how well these would work. They have much smaller holes than the mesh that came with my dehydrator. I have been drying strawberries, mangos, peaches, kiwis and I have to say these are better than the plastic screens because they are much easier to remove the fruit slices once dried.
I originally bought these so that I could put a screen on top of my herbs to keep them from getting blown off the trays when the fan is on. Which by the way, works wonderfully!!
One thing to remember silicone is floppy. With the hard plastic frames these sit in, it isn’t an issue. It also makes it easy to store them folded up

Shawn P. : Good product
Top notch
Kate B. : BIG
Much bigger than my Excalibur trays and leaves me to wonder if I should trim them to fits However does a great job in catching all those small pieces as they dehydrate. Especially use for celery which shriks to almost nothing when dehydrated.
capnkid : great for the price

Diane Knoll : compare to others
worked fine, washes up nice

Dustin Guiles : Product that does exactly what it is supposed to do!
These silicone sheets do exactly what they advertise, just hot water and a bit of soap and sponge and clean right up! I bought them for my dehydrator and they have worked well through meat, fruit, and veggie cycles!
CS : Do not as good as it says.
It is very sticky when it gets wet. I used it for a steamer layer surface, but foods still sticked on covered surfaces.
KMiller : They work great!! I highly recommend them.

arachyd : Takes longer to dehydrate food with these, bad taste
It took more than twice as long to dehydrate foods with these than with the butcher paper I normally use. The food sticks to them and thinner foods like banana chips would break when I tried to remove them. They also gave the foods an unpleasant burned taste. I've gone back to using butcher paper.
Heather McGee : They work.
These are fine they go well with the product
A. Ferre : Economical choice for dehydrator mesh
I wanted more mesh sheets for my new food dehydrator, but the ones from the company were so expensive. These can be cut to fit, and so fit better than even the one mesh sheet that came with my dehydrator and the mesh is smaller so that small herbs, like thyme leaves can't fall through.
. : Dehydrator sheets
Just what my wife wantec
Kindle Customer : Works for Jerky!
i got these for my cosori dehydrator 'cause it came with only one. but i ran a batch of beef jerky with all of them and there was no need to scrub the grills cause these are easily washable.
Ann G. : Good replacements for dehydration
Bought these for my husband’s dehydrater. His others melted. He loves them
Kindle Customer : It's just what I needed
I wanted to use this as liners in my dehydrator, as I only had 3 mats for my 9 trays. It works great!
Nancy Z. : A MUST HAVE
I have been dehydrating for years and never had a silicone mat. Well I just bought a 9 tray dehydrator with a fan so I could dehydrate tomatoes. These silicone mats are a must. They have small hole which keeps most of the juices from dripping and easy to remove the tomatoes. I also used them for onions and it was just as easy. Great product.
vyolette.vale : Great bang for your bucks!
These are perfect for my dehydrator. Fruits and stickier meats come right off, and cleanup is simple. I'm very impressed at the quality of the product for the price I paid! No more throw-away sheets ever again!

kate : Excellent mesh screens!
I was worried about ordering from some of the reviews, but after a few uses, I am extremely happy with this purchase. The mesh on these screens is small enough to accomodate my herb harvests in the dehydrator. They clean super easy. I just swish them around in warm soapy water and a clean rinse, then hang to dry. When I did this after dehydrating tomatoes, there were stains left...but that is what tomatoes do on everything, right? Pleased with my order so far!
James B. Purdie : Great product
I made cauliflower popcorn and they worked great! Some of the items were small and I didn't want them to fall through. Loved how they cleaned up easy and dried quickly. Would definitely recommend to keep your shelves clean too. Love them so far.
Dawn Kennedy : Protection on racks
Honestly I having use yet. But I do plan on using it
Miss Kitty : Dense
The opening holes are very small. They do restrict some air flow. I think a little larger might work better. But I am happy with them.
Jeff : Wait for it- read my entire review.

MacGalAZ : Great Product
I'm new to the whole dehydrator thing, but these sheets are AMAZING. You can cut them to the proper size for your dehydrator racks and NOTHING sticks to them. I made the mistake of trying to put some cheese in my dehydrator and it melted all over one of these sheets, but the cheese peeled right off with no sticking and no damage to the sheets or my dehydrator. Highly recommended.
anonymous1 : Cheap
Cheap, shouldn’t have even bought . They truely aren’t needed
Kindle Customer : It's just what I needed
I wanted to use this as liners in my dehydrator, as I only had 3 mats for my 9 trays. It works great!
Carie : Nice quality, can’t wait to use these.
Good product, I purchased these for my new, dehydrator, to make fruit rolls, and vegan jerky. These look nice enough to bake low temp with my commercial baking sheet.
James B. Purdie : Great product
I made cauliflower popcorn and they worked great! Some of the items were small and I didn't want them to fall through. Loved how they cleaned up easy and dried quickly. Would definitely recommend to keep your shelves clean too. Love them so far.
Stephen Tucker : Dehydrator Sheets
The Gucuji Pack of 5 Premium Non Stick Silicone Dehydrator Sheets for Fruit Dryer Mesh, 14x14” are very nice. These are more like the silicone sheets that Cabela’s offer although they are not as stiff. The peaches were very easy to peel up to turn over after 6 hours at 135. They are extremely flexible and are drying the peach slices more quickly than teflon sheets. This is probably due to the larger air holes in the sheet. I will definitely use these again for foods that need a sheet because they will fall through the trays without one. They were extremely easy to cut with ordinary scissors. I highly recommend these sheets for all dehydrator trays. Update And g 6, 2020: when trying to remove the food, it has a “static like” quality that makes it annoying to pick off some foods like leafy greens. Still like them for larger foods though like peaches.
Ann G. : Good replacements for dehydration
Bought these for my husband’s dehydrater. His others melted. He loves them
Michelle : Great
Keeps food from sliding through
Vrybusy : Excellent for the Dehydrator
These work excellent for dehydrating herbs. Easy to cut-to-size to fit the racks.
