Answer: Works great in our reservoir and I would think they would work the same in rivers.

Is the design on both sides ?

Answer: Yes, design on both sides and they are fish catchers. I replaced the cheap treble hooks with quality single 2/0 size hook on a 200# assist cord setup. If jigging like I do in deep water 60-100+ feet, these are killer jigs rigged as described for inshore drop-off's. Hope this helped.

Answer: These are probably too heavy to cast and retrieve.

Answer: They will work in salt water and fresh water and catch fish.

Do the come with the bucktails?

Answer: Yeah they have little feathers on the back with the treble hook. I’ve replaced few with single J depending on type of fish I’m after. Paint peels rather quickly in surf. They’re still nice for price.

Answer: Yes..it's in the description. They are non lead metal - some kind of alloy I believe

Answer: I am sure they would be good in the surf better than just a spoon. They have a lot of flash and color.

Answer: The set I got had 5. Did the container have an empty place? Love the jigs though. Great colors and good weight. Anyway, if there was an empty space in the container then I would say you were shorted. If all the slots in the container had a lure then I would guess you got what you ordered. Good luck..

Answer: I would think so, I use them for Kokanee (land locked salmon). You can't beat the price and they catch fish. Fish on!

Can somebody please suggest me a compatible siwash hook for 1.16oz jigs..most of the times i will be doing c & r of the fish?

Answer: First of all, get rid of that treble hook if you are doing C&R. It is a pretty weak hook anyway. I like to put a stainless circle hook on mine. If you are planning on release just take a pair of pliers to the barbell, the fish will stay on just as well. I am sure you can find barbless circle hooks on line as well. Answer: Not sure about ocean surf perch but I can say they are well made and work great here in Hawaii for the Papio, goat fish, snapper and even for Aku out on a boat. Hooks could be a bit stronger but they can be replaced.

Just received them and have not used them yet, may have to wait until summer, we are not allows to use treble hook in inland salt water due to Salmon regulations. Reason for 4 star is because the black one has 2 chips that I will have to paint over.

These are a heavy lure for casting quite a ways. I've caught ladyfish, sugar trout, sea trout, Bonita, variety of snapper, grouper, porgies and snook all on this lure. I have to order a couple more packages and use stronger fluorocarbon leader so I don't loose more. This has been my go to saltwater lure.

Good value for the cost. As other reviewers mentioned, the hooks are weak, especially if you’re using them for saltwater.

I replaced the hooks with teasers/flies and used it to target striped bass, see photos. You can also replace with a diamond jig tail or a plain in-line circle hook.

As for most jigs like this the paint doesn’t last too long as it rubs against sandbars and toothy hookups. No worse than other jigs at similar cost.

I tried these on a recent fishing trip and landed 6 different species of fish. Sea trout, summer flounder, porgies, sea bass, bluefish and a Spanish mackerel. Killer jig. The only thing I would knock is the treble hook. It needs to be 1-2 sizes larger because I did have many fish spot the hook. All in all a great buy!!

Really good lure for sea trout. Really bad lure for fishing rock jetties. Just pulling seaweed off the lure makes it lose it's tail feathers. They have great color until you use them. I must have bought 15 of these, I have three left.

This is the follow-up review for these little jigs. Pro: they catch in-shore bottom fish. Con: The assist cord and hook is too weak, breaks off on a good fight. Upgraded the hardware to a sturdy 4x 2/0 size heavy duty single hook (came with size 1's hook). Also added a Kevlar 200# strength assist cord.
