Can I use them for crappie?

Answer: The 2” and 3” are perfect for crappie or any other panfish.

Answer: Crappie seem to love these.

What kind of hook do you recommend?

Answer: I use the 5 inch ones on my huge buzz baits. Makes all the differance in the world. I caught #35 and #36 of one of my personal best. 36 bass over 4 pounds this year. The largest to come from this buzz bait combo was 9.5.

What kind of fish like this type?

Answer: I wish I could post pictures in questions but I can't. I will try in comments but I've caught 36 bass over 4 pounds this year, one 9.5. Not all but at least half of them came from a huge buzz bait with a 4 or 5 inch paddletail after the skirt. Makes all the differance in the world.

Answer: Not that I have seen.

Is it necessary to do more than hook this on a proper sized hook and then cast and retrieve or tie to a bobber or does it really only work with a jig

Answer: For me the gage of the line 10-15 lb test 02 size hook. What is the average size of fish in the area you are fishing will determine the size of hook. Cast and retrieve or trolling. Great action.

Answer: Depends on the size. I have the 5” ones and just use them with a offset hook and throw them. I also have the smaller ones and use them with a jig head and a blade on the bottom. Also use them for trailers for jigs and chatterbaits The 5” ones I also use weighted hooks on them. All works great!!

Answer: Works with a swim jig, a bullet weight like you do with a worm or a belly weighted screw lock hook like I've been using. Caught fish this very weekend with that method. Weightless it will swim mostly topwater unless the retrieve is really slow. Hope that helps. Good deal money wise!

Answer: You can Texas rig it, fishnit weightless, use it as a trailer. Use it how it fits your fishing style.

Answer: Which ever works for you. I like the paddle tails. Have not had much luck on the bulb tails yet

Jig head recommendations for the 4inch?

Answer: You can almost use anything. Swim jig, shaky head, underspin. You can use them as spinnerbait and chatterbait trailers as well.

Answer: I'd think that 3/8 to 3/4 oz heads would work well.

Answer: I agree with Ryan on this question. Like I have said on other questions. I run a four or five inch paddletail after the skirt on my huge buzz baits and my spinnerbaits. I caught #35 & #36 over four pounds this year today. My largest with this combo this year was nine and a half pounds.

Answer: You are better to use a keel weighted 3/0 hook. The weight 1/8,3/16,or 1/4 ounce depending on current. Larger hook size can reduce action.

Answer: The four and five inch work really well in salt water, use 3/0 keel weighted hook.

Answer: Can't say for sure, but I've caught 4-5 species in fresh water on the smaller ones.

Allen : OK for the price. Not the best.

OK for what you pay for. The green magic color looks a lot more light in the pictures. In reality, it is more brown and only the tail section is transparent. The hook slot wasn't all that great either. It was more of a concave than slot. The plastic is durable. I'm sure softer baits give better action though. It is infused with salt so that's good.

I've been fishing in the local ponds around central Ohio this spring with limited success. I've tried everything from Yum Dingers, Wacky Worms, Crankbaits, spinner baits, finesse worms, etc., and nothing has worked all that great. I tried this brown magic swim baits and man do they work. The best set up for me is to either Texas rig them or rig them with a weedless hook with no weight at all, just slowing working it with a twitch and letting the bait fall. In just an hour's worth of fishing I usually get 10-15 strikes and catch about half of those. Awesome lure, thank you!
