I looked, but didn't see anything here about this scales country of origin... does anyone know?

Answer: This scale is from China. I bought it for my husband who makes bread. He loves it Excellent scale.

What size weight for calibration?

Answer: Manual p 2 says

Answer: Google "how to calibrate a scale without weights" if you don't have calibration weights. There are numerous methods for checking the calibration. You can easily check the calibration using US 5 cents and 1 cents. "A U.S. nickel (5-cent coin for non-Americans) weighs exactly 5.00 grams and a U.S. cent (since 1983) weighs exactly 2.50 grams." - make sure they're clean coins. But, if you need it exact, you should go with the manual's specified 2000 gram weight.

Answer: We use a 100-gram weight just to check its accuracy. No need to calibrate regularly as is the case with other scales.

Answer: Don't need a charger. It plugs into a electrical socket.

Answer: It actually measures to 3 decimal places in ounce mode ie 1/1000th of an ounce . This is an excellent balance .

What size is the top plate?

Answer: Hi Tina...its 6 1/2 across by 5 3/8th down hope this helps. I use mine to measure out skincare product if that helps as well

Is this a good scale for measuring pottery plaster for mold making?

Answer: Yes and no. Yes, it would weigh plaster accurately. But no--no offense intended--but plaster for mold making does not require such precise measurements.

Answer: I using it to weigh materials for soaps casting and is barely enough, but I do not think the capacity is adequate for pottery, better look for a bigger one.

Answer: Unit beeps with on/off, tare, etc. Loudly? Depends what you consider loud. May not hear if machinery is running or music playing on radio nearby.

Answer: This unit beeps when ever a button is pushed, weather it's tare, power on/off or switching between measurements (gram, ozt, lb, oz, ect). The beep is loud enough to hear, but by no means obnoxious. I love this scale in every way

Answer: It for weighing, not counting, BUT, I suppose, if you would weigh one of the nails first, then use that as a basis for “nail weight”, you could figure out how many nails you have by dividing the weight of a bunch of nails by your base ( one nail) weight.

Answer: Yes, it does.

does this measure in 0.1 gram increments like .1, .2, .3. etc or does it only display 0.1 measurements?

Answer: It measures with a resolution of 0.1 grams. This means it reads in increments of 0.1 grams. If you weighed something 2.08 grams, then the scale would read 2.1 grams.

Answer: This is a great little scale that weighs down to 0.1g increments. So yes it will display 0.1g 0.2g 0.3g etc.

Is the plastic over the digital display removable? Mine got water behind it when I washed it.

Answer: The scale in the photo shows that it weighs by 0.01g but it actually weighs to 0.1g as stated in the description. The scale I just received shows 0.1 gram increments on the box.

Answer: No i don't believe so

Answer: It's a scale. You have to calibrate them every time you use them.

Answer: Not home so I can't check but I always use grams. I can check when I get home tomorrow.

The image shown is an older model of the iBalance 2600. Are they actually shipping the newer version?

Answer: I don't know if I have the "newer" version (bought about a month ago), but I can say that my i2600 does not look like the picture. There are graphics under the display that are centered on the bottom of the faceplate. Also, "ibalance i2600" graphics at the top edge of faceplate are also centered. Hope this helps.

The 0.1g function doesn’t weigh accurately. I needed to have 0.1g of essential oil so used one empty container, zeroed it to 0.0g, after about 20 drops still showed 0.0g. I’m new to all this but felt it strange so changed to another empty container, zeroed it to 0.0g, put the same 20 drops of EO in and it read 3g! Now, I go back to the first now empty container and zeroed it again, then put the same 20 drops of EO in and it reads 0.6g! It is just not accurate on the 0.1 scare, very disappointed, not to mention it wasted my very expensive EO! Plus, the disable auto turn off function doesn’t work either, it turned off on it’s own after I disabled it.

Tried two cheaper options, and they were both inaccurate. This one is bang on accurate, every time. Takes a second to set, but if you're buying cheap 0.1g scales they are surely not accurate to 0.1 grams (buy a cheap calibration set).

I had an iBalance for over a decade before this one, and that scale too was accurate and lasted forever, despite my daily use.

I purchased this to use to mix ceramic glazes and it works wonderfully. In the past, I have only used a triple beam balance, and I must admit that this is faster. The scale is easy to level, has good instructions, and tared out perfectly using a calibration weight. It appears to be accurate enough for my purpose.

You get what you pay for. I returned two cheap scales that said they were accurate to .01g. Both of them were under 20 bucks. Although this was 5 times as expensive, it weighed things accurately right of the the box. I will say though, I tried to contact my weigh about replaclacing a piece I had on their palm scale and they did not reply. So, I'm a bit leery of the customer service, but that palm scale has worked for 20 years without issue.

Perfect for my baking needs. I purchased this for the constant backlit display and AC adapter, and I am very pleased with it. I disabled the auto-off feature and only use the power button. The platform is large enough for a mixing bowl, although I tend to weigh the dry and liquid ingredients in separate containers. It's small enough to leave on the kitchen counter, but when not in use, it's protected in a plastic bread bag.

I use scales all the time for making glazes for my artwork. I have never had a problem with a scale until I bought this one. The scale would not zero properly, even if it was completely level. I tried moving it to different areas of the room and then leveling it again. Same thing would happen, it just would not zero. I tried recalibrating the scale 5 or 6 times but it would always be inaccurate because the scale would not zero. It would fluctuate by how off it was; from .3 - .7
I assume it just got damaged during shipping because the packing for this product was awful. It was not secure in the box at all.
I will be returning this item, never ordering from the seller again and ordering my scale elsewhere. Too much time wasted...

This feels like a quality product and has done well so far. After using many cheap digital balances from Aliexpress I was looking for a quality product with a display that you can read from a distance and an angle and this sure lived up to it. While it is expensive, it sure is worth it if you love quality product. Very happy with it so far. Just wish it was a 5Kg version instead of 2.6Kg. But, for 95% of our use it is fine.
