why won't the safety switch release and let the knife run? Guess I am a Moron.

Can i filet perch with this?

Answer: I use mine for all of the fish that I catch including perch.

Answer: I wouldn't know why not. It works great on pink fin which are a delicate meat surf fish.

Why won't the safety switch let the knife work

Answer: It seems to be of very poor quality. I found I had to put an inordinate amt of pressure on the trigger to get and keep mine running.

Answer: Because it sucks

Can it be used to cut a beef loin into steaks?

Answer: It can, as long as the knives are long enough. And the loin isn't frozen. The teeth will also make a mess and you'll have a very rough cut steak.

Answer: I have never used it for this, but if it will cut through scaly fish I am sure it will have no problem with a beef loin.

Answer: I have used mine to cut pork loin so i am sure it would cut beef as well

Answer: I have not used mine for that, but if I would need to I would use mine for that as it is a made elecric knife.

this is 1 good fillet knife have 1 exactly like it for many yeas and it has cleaned thousands of fish and still going just wanted to get a 2nd just in case the first 1 fails the only thing they need to change is the heat vents they are right under your hand and after 20 or 30 fish it get hot on your hand as your hand has the vents covered but let it cool a few mins and your to go again but it has never hurt the knife

This is the worst knife I have ever owned. The left blade does not lock in place right out of the box. Rapala does not stand behind there product. Choose a different brand.

Have not used it yet but definitely does not have an 18 foot cord. A 4 foot cord maybe. Very unhappy. One of the main reasons I bought it. Also DID NOT come with 2 sets of blades. False advertisement.

Amazon Customer : GREAT FISH FILET-ER !!

Our old 12V/110 AC Combo Rapala lasted several years so when it wore out we replaced it with this 110 model. Contrary to some reviews....These knives work great for fileting Pink Fin Surf Perch. We sure get our money's worth from them...They work great !!!

Honestly our prior combo knife was kinda gimicky the way the 110 power cord connected to the 12 volt section...so we like this dedicated 110 much better.

This 110 power cord is super long and therfore really convenient. 4 instead of 5 stars ONLY because the long cord is hard to squeeze into the pre-molded compartments of their 1 size fits all universal carrying case. While the case could be better engineered....It's the KNIFE that's important & it's a 5 STAR.

I fillet more than 100 fish a month. The electric knife ha the power and a strong moter. The fillet knives are sloppy and loose and do not do a clean job of filleting. I am comparing this to my American Anglar which has its problems with the trigger.
