Q:
do you ship internationally?
Answer: Hey Chris...I'm not setup to ship outside the us at this time. I hope to get this in place in the next few months.
Q:
Can I burn the entire thing - box and all?
Answer: Yes!
Q:
Does this burn cleanly? Or is there a lot of smoke? I am using a firepit in a small backyard. I burned some cheap wood and was smoked out.
Answer: It is good wood. We burned it in a fireplace and there was very little smoke.
Q:
The description says 'logs' but the picture shows split wood, I'm looking for split wood, are these already split?
Answer: Hi There...This is our 60-70lb box of kiln dried firewood. The logs (which are split) are 16inches in length and include a variety of thickness, some thinner pieces to start the fire and some thicker to keep it going. The wood burns great, it lights right up and burns clean (less smoke) and hot.
Answer: The box I received was all split wood . It did have bark on one side however but it wasn’t round logs .
Answer: Yes, it is split wood. Highly recommend it.
Answer: Yes, they're nicely and evenly split. At that price, they'd better be.
Answer: Yes- they are split
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Q:
How many pieces of wood come in the 16” log order approximately?
Answer: I did not count but maybe 20 to 30
Q:
How many BTUs per cord does this wood produce?
Answer: I don't know, but next to almond and fruit woods like orange, oak burns hotter than any other hardwood.
Q:
How do you use the Fire starter?
Q:
How does this compare to getting a 1/2 cord of wood?
Answer: Hi There...This is our XL firewood box. The logs are cut 16-18inches in length. This box is 24inches high x 18in x 18in. The wood is kiln dried so it lights easily and burns clean and hot.
Answer: This is much less than a 1/2 cord. Maybe 1/4 cord, if that. This is undoubtedly very expensive wood, but also excellent quality. I use one piece per fire, along with some cheaper wood.
Answer: it's great firewood but nowhere near a 1/2 cord.
Answer: I have no clue. My first experience with a fireplace and it is a work in progress. Just been 4 months I have lived here. It burned clean and hot. We go between trunk loads and .75 cubic feet bags.
Q:
can it be uses for a indoor fire plave
Answer: Hi...Yes, it’s perfect for indoor or outdoor fireplaces or fire pits. The wood is USDA certified pest free kiln dried wood. It lights easily, burns clean and hot.

Q:
can i buy a half a cord?
Answer: Not sure what u mean
Answer: If you want to pay for shipping...
Q:
Is this wood chemical free?
Answer: Hi There...yes, our wood is completely chemical free.
Answer: I believe it is . I bought both oak and pine and they both seemed like raw dried wood to me .
Q:
Is this wood safe to use for food?
Answer: Yes, it is USDA certified pest free. It lights easily and burns clean and hot.
Answer: absolutely... the smoke will add a fine flavor.
Q:
Just received this order - where is the remaining firewood I paid for ?
Answer: That’s it...
Q:
What is approximate diameter of small mini logs?
Answer: diameter as in literally 2*pi*r? It's been a while since I burned it, but I'd say the small pieces had a diameter of 3 inches or so. Bigger pieces maybe around 12 inches. It is very dry, so it burns quickly.
Q:
Can I roast marshmallows and hotdogs over this or does it have chemicals on it? Is it safe to cook directly over?
Answer: Hi there...Yes, our wood is perfect for cooking over. There are no chemicals used and it is USDA certified pest free.

Answer: No chemicals just kiln dried wood . I would definitely use it for grilling .
Answer: We roasted marshmallows with our grandchildren, as far as I know, they are suitable for cooking ????
Answer: I don’t know for sure as I just used it in my fireplace, but as far as I could tell it seemed chemical free
Q:
How many logs come in the 65 to 70 pound box
Answer: HI there...About 20-25 logs we try to include a variety of sizes including some starter pieces with a majority being full size thicknesses. Thanks Smoak Firewood
Answer: Not enough....probably 10-12
Q:
how many pieces of wood a box contain?
Answer: Hi Shahz...ours is sold by weight. The box is a 12 inch x 12 in x 12 in box that ends up weighing about 25 lbs. The pieces are cut into roughly 8 inch pieces and the box is packed completely full. The number of pieces changes due to the thickness of the different pieces. Hope this helps! Also, ours comes with fire starter.
Q:
We go through about 5 bundles of firewood a 4 hour night at $30, realistically what does a large box give you in terms of burn time?
Answer: Six or seven hours, depending on the size and efficiency of your fireplace. This is an excellent firewood and arrives exactly as advertised. That said, it's very pricey. I usually buy dried, oak, walnut or almond from a local supplier by the chord or half chord--i'm in California--but when they ran out during our cold wet spell, I purchased this as a bridge until my supplier restocked. It's an excellent product, as I said, but I couldn't afford to burn it exclusive all winter.
Q:
How much would I have to order to get a full cord?
Answer: A lot
Q:
approx how many 16" logs?
Answer: In the 120-140lb box that has the 16inch logs, it’s done by weight and not an exact log count. Because there is a variety of width sizes Included it will have a range from 45-65.
Q:
Does it burn slow?
Answer: Yes it does burn slower than the bundle of wood I buy at the grocery store.
Answer: No. Fast. We added coal and a duraflame to help it burn longer. Starts quickly.
Answer: No. It is very dry. It lights very easily, but will burn fast.
Answer: I️ have a pizza oven
Q:
Is this good wood to use with a pizza oven?
Answer: Hi there...Yes, this can be used for pizza ovens. Its all USDA certified but you could also check out our Smoak Firewood cooking wood mini logs. We have different types of wood to choose from under that product item. Thanks Smoak Firewood
Q:
what type of oak wood is this? Red oak, post oak, white oak? Also is this a west coast wood? Looking for California red oak.
Answer: Hi there...we are out of Georgia, so east coast area. This box is oak and could be red oak or white oak or a mix. Under our other products, we have cooking wood which is separated oak and we have red oak, white oak, hickory, pecan, maple or cherry to choose from.
Answer: It's definitely not California red oak, which I assume you're seeking for Santa Maria-style bbq.
Answer: Wood is from various oak trees and hickory trees in Georgia.
Answer: White oak. Not sure from where
Q:
The wood would not light. I used the started pieces and it is not lighting. What is the Easiest way to get the fire started?
Answer: When starting a fire use the smallest pieces 1st. Light the fire starter and then you stack on the thinnest pieces, you could even pull a few pine straw size pieces and get those going. Once you get the wood burning you can add larger pieces.
Answer: Maybe start out with some newspaper or even old junk mail bunched up between a couple pieces of the starter wood and like the paper on fire.
Answer: 1. Lighter Fluid
Q:
can i buy a half a cord?
Answer: Not sure what u mean
Answer: If you want to pay for shipping...
Product reviews of Smoak Firewood - Kiln Dried Premium USDA Certified Firewood (Small Mini Logs (8 inch pieces) 25-30lbs)
Kat : Great product, expensive though
This fire wood is awesome. It’s really warm and puts out good heat. I like that it doesn’t smoke and the wood is cut to size. I had about 24 split pieces in mine which makes it rather expensive per a price. Though I love the product I’m not sure I would buy it again due to quantity. However the quantity is better than anything else I’ve ever used.
Lindiblu : Wood a Great Size-Excellent Supplier
Perfect sized wood pieces for handling. It came nicely packaged. Included several fire sticks. Arrived a few days earlier than promised. Happy with my purchase. Update: Wonderful supplier. Can’t say enough about their Customer Service.
Michael Cummings : Good and dry
Wood was really dry - burned perfectly!
Customer service was excellent!!
N.E. : This is a ridiculous price.
You can buy this for $30-$40 at a simple grocery store nearby. The asking price of $150 is absolutely ridiculous, even if it's slightly higher quality wood.
I just bought from a local guy an entire cord of wood, 100x this amount, for only $140 including delivery. So I paid less than this for 100x more wood from a local guy - and over half of it (50x this amount) was hardwood just like this in quality.
Richelle Atkins : Excellent working product
These are well worth the money spent. I am very satisfied with the item and will definitely order again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Rob : Strong vinegar smell, and expensive
I used these to cook some steaks. The wood burned readily and was easy to light. It had a strong smell that worried me at first, but after some research I found that this is common in oak logs. I'll be looking for another source of firewood - local grocery store has bundles of not quite the same quality, but for 1/10th of the price.
Jan P. : Save meValue
I have a disability I can’t walk and I try very hard to save money by using my fireplace for warmth this is the best wood I have ever used I think you so much
M Black : Great product, convenient delivery and good customer service.
Great product and customer service.
Edward J Caspers : Big box o' firewood
There were more logs than I expected. Not a great value but good quality. You could probably get as many logs from the supermarket or gas station for less $$. But not delivered to your front door and not as solid.
Betsy A. Wood : Worked wonderful.
We used it when bar b queing lamb. Worked wonderful.
David Somers : Burned long time in the wood stove
Their was nothing too dislike.????
zahavamama : not worth the money
I was surprised that at that price it was just a medium sized box..it also arrived five days late and we had not heat in very cold weather. I would send it back to Georgia but I have chronic illnesses and cannot take it to the UPS store.
Tony Tatum : I love the smell
They smell good and burn really well
Howie and/or Cyndy : Fantastic but pricey.
OK, not sure I would buy again, but this is the best firewood I have ever used. You can tell it is kiln dried. No bugs and the wood is extremely clean. The wood burns clean and long and is easy to start the fire. They also include kindling in the box. Now with all this good stuff, i am not sure I would order again based on the price. With that said it is exactly what was advertised and exceeded my expectations. The issue I am wrestling with is $50 for a relatively small box of wood. I used it for the first time last night in a fire and went through about half the box. I can get the crappy grocery store firewood for about three or four bucks. It is not apples and apples and there is definitely a value to this product. What’s the value of the convenience of getting a really good product. I am going to have to wrestle with this.
Paul W. : Burns well, needs a good starter to get going.
Box was definitely at least 90lbs so be aware when moving. Wood burned well, but be ready for the need for plenty of good kindling to get it burning. Excellent heat generation and moderate ash production. Smelled great while burning.
Betsy A. Wood : Worked wonderful.
We used it when bar b queing lamb. Worked wonderful.
Mrs. Pineda : Beach Bonfire Must!
It is a heavy box of wood, but good value for the amount you get. It kept us warm for our beach bonfire.
GRACY (ALL CAPS PLEASE) : Really good wood for smoking. Great flovor but not overbearing.
We bought this wood for smoking. Good quality. Smoked some great brisket, Jerry, fish and about anything else we could fit in the smoker. Dry, good size and burns evenly.
Betsy A. Wood : Worked wonderful.
We used it when bar b queing lamb. Worked wonderful.
Neilkratz4 : Great Product
Easy to start, good burn and warmth
Wilderness to Table : HOT burning firewood that lights up quickly!
I use their woods for cooking and smoking and because I live local I use their regular kiln dried wood for my fireplace. Nothing compares to kiln dried wood, it lights up right away and burns hot, I used to have to run the gas starter for hours to get the cheap woods keep burning. It's just great wood!
Gunseli Baysan : Very dry , good quality wood.
We use this wood for iindoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit. They burn beautifully, you don’t get any smoke, give very good heat. It is a bit expensive.
RR : Not A Smart Buy
Expensive fire wood that arrived in a very sturdy cardboard box weighing around 120 lbs. The wood was properly dried and bug free. All pieces were approximately the same size and entirely oak. We purchased this only after all of our local supplies had been depleted for the holidays and unseasonably cool week. Will plan better in the future and buy locally as the major cost was in the delivery. On the positive side, it is a good quality wood, but exorbitantly expensive.
Tracey Desmond : Great wood, but burns very fast.
Excellent wood, maybe the only issue is it burns very quickly so even though it’s a lot of wood, you’ll go through it fast.
Janine : Quantity or number of logs
I received my wood yesterday as promised, however, I had to chuckle when I saw that there was only 30 logs total in the box with the firestarter. So, this will end up being the most expensive fire(s) I have. The wood smells good. I think if the order was doubled, then I would feel that the expense was justified. The order equates to 5.00 a log.
I do think that is important to know.
Mark S. Goergen : Burns longer than pine .
Great addition to the pine that we have locally.
Cathy : highly recomended company
My first rating I gave them 4 of 5 stars because the Firestarter was left out. They sent me a free box with extra Firestarter, which blew me away!!! This wood is amazing to burn in my tiny firepit (22" bowl), being only 8" and kiln dried it's amazing. the Firestarter is amazing too. Thank You Smoak, for being amazing;)
Adam Rheaume : Convenient
This was perfect for COVID-19. Could not get wood locally so used this. Pricy but was very convenient.
