You May Have These Concerns...

1.The machine not vacuum but seals only.

Please use the correct vacuum bag! Smooth flat bags can be both vacuumed and sealed by Magic Seal nozzle type sealers, embossed bags or side gusset bags cannot be vacuumed, only for seal.

2. Lets The Air Back In When The Nozzle Retracts..

Please use the correct vacuum bag! Magic Seal nozzle type sealers are not designed for embossed bags. Once the nozzle retracts from the embossed bag, a little air would goes back to the bag from air channels on embossed bags. Bags of flat surface, like smooth vacuum sealer bags, are strongly recommended.

Tip: During the vacuuming process, please keep the item as close to the vacuum nozzle as possible to prevent the nozzle from being blocked by the tight bag wall, so that the air will be more completely pumped out.

Will this work with mylar storage bags?

Answer: yes, we tried mylar bags, it can be vacuumed and sealed, be careful set sealing time a little shorter....

How many vac/seals can you do before it needs to rest?

Answer: about 20 sealings can be done before it need a rest. when you become more experinced, set the sealing time shorter when temperature goes up. the number can be even higher.

Answer: This equipment very good.

Can you use other brands of bags?

Answer: Dear Ted, it can vacuum and seal other brand bags, as long as the bag surface is SMOOTH, in fact, most bags available are smooth. the special designed bag with channel on one pannel is not compatibal with this machine.

Foodsaver and its embossed bags brought vacuum sealing to the masses (and infomercials), but vacuum sealing existed long before. These commercial sealers use flat/smooth bags (ie like you see used in vacuum sealed meats in the store), and this sealer is more akin to those than a Foodsaver or knockoff. As such, you'll not want to use 99% of the vacuum sealer bags you see everywhere. With the right bags, and the right need (most people would be better served with a Foodsaver and its embossed bags), this is a delight.

What does this offer that others don't? It's incredibly powerful, has multiple nozzles, can add air back to the bag, and can use all sorts of bags. The power and multiple nozzles speeds things up. Likely unneeded for typical use, but if you're putting away a whole deer or doing hard core meal prep, every bit helps. The ability to add air back does wonders for sous vide seafood, where too much vacuum can destroy the texture. I love the ability to use mylar bags for prepping, long term storage, camping meals, etc... Other touches include easy to use controls and a huge liquid catch vat. Both have already came in handy.

Most people won't need all of this, but if you're looking at $250+ vacuum sealers, you might not be most people.

Nozzles get closed off by the plastic bag before it pulls out all of the air, these are the ones that come with it.
I used it on about 25 7mil mylar bags, worked right the first time on about 17 of them. Not sure if I will keep this, its a good concept, but not sure if it's practical, also regular smooth bags are hard to find.
Updated to 4 stars, This does have a learning curve. The bag cannot be to long from the product you are sealing inside the bag. If there is to much extra length of bag it will suck the extra length shut and sealed off from the food your sealing. Trim the bags so they are shorter and less extra length. This seams to work well on mylar bags, and the plastic ones it came.
I Kept it for Mylar bag sealing it works great for those, after I learned to trim the bags shorter.
