ULTRA FLEX The extreme flexibility stands out among its competitors. The sleek, sporty blade cuts precisely for detailing and plucking out bones. | TAPERED FLEX Our most iconic style fillet knife. Perfect for cleaning all types of fish. Flexibility allows for more precise filleting around bones while providing enough rigidity to slice through heavy meat or cut through the bones of fish. Ideal for salt or freshwater fish. | FLEX The semi-flexible blade is more lenient than our Stiff fillet blades and is a great option for cutting through heavier meats such as tuna and/or wahoo. | STIFF The construction of the stiff style fillet knife has little flex, making it controllable and great for any large game fish. It doubles as a great utility knife for meat carvers as the 2mm- wide blade is ideal for precision cutting. |

Q:
what should I buy 7"flex or 9"flex? usually filte red, trout, grouper snapper tuna,?
Answer: 7". Have found the 9" can be to big on some fish. It flexes easier then the 7 and makes it easier to cut yourself. I already experienced it. I suggest buying a protected glove, knife resistant as the bubba blades are extremely sharp.
Answer: Either one will work. I have the 9" and use it to clean Dolphin. It really matters
Answer: To do all those fish I would go with the 9”. But I also filte the whole fish on one side cutting threw the ribs. Then filte the ribs and skin off once the main filte is off the fish. If you filte from the back down to the ribs then the 7” is what you want.
Answer: I would buy the 9 it is a little more flexible which helps with bigger fish. I would also get the sharpener
Answer: I'd buy the 9" for that great big one I tell fish stories about! Just in case ;)
Answer: As a rule of thumb fresh water fish require a 7" inch blade yet not always. The bottom line ,What is the girth of the fish that your are working on. A bigger girth fish a longer blade is the rule to cut by.Regards, Walleye Hunter
Answer: The 9 inch would be my recommendation
Answer: 9”!
Answer: Bought for the boyfriend. He stated easy to handle and to manage
Answer: Nine inch.
Product reviews of BUBBA 9 Inch Tapered Flex Fillet Knife with Non-Slip Grip Handle
Troy Haskett : nice knife
great filet knife
Hank : Salt water corrosion resistance diappointing
Took this knife on month long kayak camping trip in the Bahamas. Extreme conditions of kicking around in the cockpit of the kayak in salt water everyday. Suffered a lot of corrosion which ate into the edge of the blade. Definitely not stainless. I was ok with discoloration but edge damaged and became more like a serrated blade than the smooth cutter it started out as. For difficult condition where you wont be able to properly care for such a knife, save your money and buy something cheaper, and replace more often.
Handle is great.
bogarts69 : AMAZING
Purchased MANY knives in the past 2 years and this one by far is the BEST!

I bought this knife because my husband was going fishing and he wanted one, so I surprised him with it for Father’s Day. Really sharp knife when we first got it, but Used it on two shark and it has lost its edge, really dull. Other than that my husband said he liked the feel of it.
TX Mama : Worth the hype.
I waited a long time to buy one of these, thinking it was just hype and any knife would do the job. It is exactly as all of the advertisements claim. Makes cleaning fish unbelievably easier and faster.
Amazon Customer : Wonderful
Bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday. He LOVES it! He says the group is comfortable, the flexibility and curve are perfect, and he looks forward to using it on all of his fish!
Steven : Great fillet knife
Great fillet knife but it’s huge. I might should have gone with the 7” for flounder & drum but I’m learning how to get good with the 9”
Virginia B. : Great knive for sliming
Husband loves flexibility of this knife
Scott McFarlane : Very sharp
Awesome for yellow tail, sea bass, halibut and tuna....so far it has worked perfectly.

E. Cojocaru : Wanderful knife
I like this knife. It is very sharp. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to use it to fillet a fish. Use it only to carve the turkey.
Troy Haskett : nice knife
great filet knife
Simple Comfort Inc : Love
This sucker is SOLID.....Love it
D. S. Barber : This is the best filet knife. Period.
I bought the 9" tapered filet knife. When it arrived I thought it was a small Samurai sword, the 9" is that big. That said, it's incredibly sharp and has just the right amount of flex in the blade. I can remove the skin from a Yellowtail filet and lose next to zero meat. I love this knife.
Mahn and Heather : Five Stars
It’s a bubba blade. Everyone should have one or two of these blades.
Alexander Wong : Great filet knife
Great knife. Very sharp and flexable.
asearsea : As described! Seems larger than what we thought so the 9inch is more than enough fillet knife.
Just as described! Bought for my husband for Christmas and he LOVES it! Much larger than you think! The 9inch is more than enough knife to fillet.
Sharon Collins : Great!
This knife is amazing! I love it. Sharp as heck and cuts through fish like buddha! Must have if your a sports man.
Whackemall : Way over priced
Knife is NOT worth what they are asking. The steel is poor quality and will rust in salt water. Buy a Dexter.
Jacquelyn Mroszczak : Great handle (easy to hold when hand is wet )
Best knife on the market. I used use on small and large fish. It works perfectly.
Chris : Amazing
Sharpest filet knife I’ve been held. Amazing really. Be careful you could hurt yourself. Seriously.
Moore : Good
Good
Troy Haskett : nice knife
great filet knife
XN : Coating is flaking off
After filleting two walleye the coating on the knife started to flaking off. Knife is sharp but doesn’t know if it can hold the edge
Mahn and Heather : Five Stars
It’s a bubba blade. Everyone should have one or two of these blades.
carl palotas : Perfect
Slices through walleye like butter.
TX Mama : Worth the hype.
I waited a long time to buy one of these, thinking it was just hype and any knife would do the job. It is exactly as all of the advertisements claim. Makes cleaning fish unbelievably easier and faster.
Amazon Customer : the knifes are Crap. The companies service and warranty is even worse. DO NOT BUY these knives.
Mine snapped the first time I used it and I did not abuse it. I contacted the company for replacement etc and could not even get a response. Buy another brand.
Byron Hennecy : Great filet knife
Great filet knife. Does a fast and easy job on all of the fish I clean. These blades are easy to sharpen and hold a great edge.
Tom Ross : Great knife, even for skinning
My first Bubba knife. I have been a Rapala fillet knife user for ages as I love the flexibility. However, as I do more offshore fishing I needed a bigger knife, and the Rapala does not hold an edge. This knife is great. Non-slip. Functional case. Sharp. And I was surprised that while not feeling very flexible, it really worked well even when skinning. Can't care ability to hold an edge yet. Very pleased.
Stephanie Kelly : Fantastic Knife.
Everything is great about this knife. Not one bad thing to write. We use it for everything; from meats to vegetables. It works great on watermelon too.
Rob Howe : Not flexible
The knife is good quality, but is not as flexible as I would like. Wasted meat because you cannot follow the bones close enough.
Amazon Customer : Larger than I thought
Excellent quality
bogarts69 : AMAZING
Purchased MANY knives in the past 2 years and this one by far is the BEST!
Jim Sim : Too large for freshwater fish
Was thinking 9 inch would be perfect for my needs. This is a salt water fish fillet knife. Too big for anything in fresh water. I returned for a 7”
perfect storm : If you fish... You need it!
I held of buying the bubba blade due to its cost. But then after going through countless knives from. west marine I wised up. Every serious spear fisherman or deckhand has one.. when I got it I felt like a pro. The meat. and time I saved in one outing paid for itself. Make sure you buy a sharpening steel! A $12 investment to keep that knife how it should be
