Does this seal Shrink Film Bags??

Answer: I believe that it should, not sure 100% but I think that first you will have to start on the lower level. And so on until seals the proper way you want it.

Is this plastic body or metal?

Answer: The body is metal. The one I purchased only lasted a few months.

Answer: It's actually metal. Though I must say when I got it, it did not work. Given that when I got it, I instantly needed it. Fortunately, I am mechanically inclined so I popped it open and fixed it, since it was a simple alignment issue with the internal switch. Once working, however, I have cranked out a boatload of skateboard bags and shrink wrapped several boards, so once tuned to your plastic type, seals very well.

will it seal (pp) poly propylene bags?

Answer: Well, this is an adjustable temperature, and I have found you just have to test it until you find the best setting for the thickness of your plastic, but I think it would do just fine. I use it with the large plastic tube rolls for making skateboard bags for packaging and that's like 4 mil two layers. Also works great on the heat shrink wrap tubing as well for decks. I did, however, have to pop the casing open and re-align the switch with the lever to get it working at first. But it may have loosened in shipment...

Answer: The seal width is 5mm

Will this seal mylar bags?

Answer: yes it will. Thicker ones might take a bit longer though.

What is the difference between the models: pfs-400(this one), sf-400, and the f-400?

Answer: One comes with a free iPhone 7 and one doesn't. I'll let you find out which one comes with it.

when you pull the bar down on the PVC, does it seal it and let you pull it off?

Answer: It does create a seal for me and I am able to pull it so it cuts off the end. I had to time it right, but its not difficult. Owned it for a year now, had to replace the coil on top (easy). very happy with it!

It looks like the sellers for this have changed - when I got mine, it was sold by House of Savings. The unit I got is definitely the one shown and described, with a very heavy, solid metal body. The plastic handle on the top isn't that great, but the top bar doesn't heat up, so it really doesn't matter. I've used my first heating element to death and done some serious harm on a second one with heavy use, and it has worked well, aside from a bit of fussing with it when it starts to gunk up near the end of life for the current nylon strip.
