I got this to try and make our own dog treats, since we have so many dogs to feed. We started with beef and then did chicken and both turned out amazing. Our dogs are officially spoiled now and best part is we can eat them too. We are going to experiment with a ton of flavors this weekend as we are hooked on how good these are. Makes the jerky super fresh and so easy to eat as they are delicious. I even made a batch of kiwi in it last night and oh my are these amazing. It is super easy to set up and use and is a very good price for the quality. Highly Recommend.

Good size, light-weight and very easy to set up. I like that it is larger than a previous model I own while costing around the same. First batch of apple chips baking as we speak! No complaints at the moment. Will update if any trouble arises.

I've gone through SO many dehydrators... I love making jerky. Started with the cheap plastic circle things that you still have to cook the meat afterwards for an hour at 170 or so to kill any bacteria and such. Then graduated to one of the very pricey Excalibur ones, until I realized that was a TON of space I didn't need to waste since I didn't make THAT much at a time. So I started getting small metal ones like this.
All but one, the one I had been using, weren't even capable of heating the inside to temp though. The top level may hit 165 or so, but the bottom ones were as much as 11 degrees less just eight trays below.
But the one I have been using was only 6 trays, this has 7, so I can fit a bit more jerky in here without having to use more space to store it. This one fits right where my other one did.
Right now i have a 6 probe BBQ thermometer with three probes in here, one on the top shelf, one on the middle shelf, one on the bottom shelf. Almost all have a large gap and never get the bottom trays up to temperature. This one actually exceeds the temp set on all three areas. I have it set to 167 F and right now from top to bottom they're 174, 171, and 169. All levels exceeded the set temp and are holding steady. This means for people like me who sometimes use ground beef or ground venison to make jerky that there's no need to do a separate bake in the oven.
Controls are easy to use, plenty of time options here, far more than I need for making my jerky. Then it even has a warming function afterwards depending on what you're making.
This will replace my current one, and become my new primary dehydrator. I like the form factor being the same as my current one, yet having that extra shelf. Made it so easy to fit four pounds of jerky in here for a single session.

ROXANNE : New to dehydrating
This is opening a whole new world to me. I've yet to do much with it. I've only had it for 2 or 3 days but I have made some doggie treats and I am preparing some deer jerky. I love the recipe book that came with it. Without that I would be completely lost. I have always wanted to be able to dehydrate my food as well as can it and vacuum seal it. I believe that we need to preserve every bit that we can and not waste. This is going to cut down on our waste so much more. I am already learning how to dehydrate my apples and turn them into chips and turn my grapes into raisins. I am absolutely loving this.
