Questions about Vacuum Sealer Rolls, GOSCIEN 10"x16.5" (2 Rolls) for Food Saver, Seal a Meal. BPA Free, Multilayer Construction, for Vac Storage, Sous vide, Meal Prep, Compatible with All Vacuum Sealer
Q:
Can these goscien vacuum sealer rolls work with the geryon vacuum sealer?
Answer: Sure. And GOSCIEN vacuum sealer bags are better than some bags I got from another brand.
Q:
Can I freeze soup with these bags?
Answer: You can freeze anything in the bag, but for liquid items like soup you will not be able to vacuum seal it (for obvious reasons). But you can certainly seal/melt the bag closed on both ends, leaving some air in the bag.
Answer: Yes, you can. I had tried it. It's good.
Q:
Are these vacuum bags suitable for cooking sous vide?
Answer: Yes, they are.

Mona Lisa (M.W.) : They seal well
I had no problem with these using my Sinopuren sealer. The bags are a little thinner than some but they work just fine. No complaints. Not much more can be said.
Andrew Marley : Good combination with a Geryon Vacuum Sealerer
This product worked very well with my vacuum sealer. Definite add-on.

sandy : Safe and clean
These bag is safe and clean enough to stock food. And it has different size, which is convenient to pack different food. Good quality!
721trucker : Worked perfectly
We usually prepare a lot of meals in advance in portions. We can freeze these and have them ready whenever we want them. We found that vacuum sealing them first keeps them as fresh as possible and really keeps the frost factor down...not a lot of ice crystals and freezer burn going on anymore.
Anyway, we use the 8 inch sealing bags constantly for this purpose. These worked exactly like they should. No problems with the impulse heat strip sealing them, and the vacuum drew the air out normally. They worked well in the freezer, and I could cut a vent in the bag and pop it straight in the microwave.
I know with my particular sealer, I have to wait 60 seconds for the heat seal to cool. If I don't, the bags don't seal properly. They melt through and the vacuum won't work properly. That is a "problem" (actually normal for my sealer) for my sealer, and not a bag issue. I'd guess that bags with a thicker material may not experience as much of a problem if the heat seal strip overheats, but you will have issues with these bags if your sealer is like mine. You must wait the required 60 seconds or you are going to melt a hole. If you operate as instructed, these are great.
No hesitation in buying these again. I may be looking at getting a sealer that solves the heat strip overheating situation, however. These bags are great, though.
Sandra Lacewell : Great deal
Works great. It's great to be able to choose the length of the bag.
Charmin' Farmer : Work as well as OEM for me with a Food Saver V4400. Great to create smaller or longer bags.
These are great rolls of vacuum sealer material. They worked just as well as the OEM ones that came with my vacuum sealer. I have a Food Saver V4400, so it does all of the steps by sensor and lets me have a little more flexibility with my bags. The two rolls are a select a size type of roll where I can roll off as much as I need, and then create a seal on one end and use the bag. The side seams are already sealed so I only need to seal and vacuum the ends.
Since it's a create a size roll, I usually seal one end with my machine, then create a second seal on the same end just to be sure it doesn't come loose. If it does come loose, I have a secondary seal to keep air and freezer burn out. I can then fill my bag and select either or moist and the machine takes the air out. These rolls have a nicely textured inside that lets air flow through and pull out of the bags. The V4400 does the rest for me and I also make sure to double seam the final sealed end, too. I haven't had any issues with leaking or freezer burn out of these, and the machine doesn't melt them.
The only downside for me is that my machine is designed to hold a roll of bags inside, and these rolls are too large to put in the machine. I have to use up part of the roll before I can use them in the compartment, but it's not a deal breaker. The rolls are so much more economically priced, and I get even more bags per roll since I get to select my size. I use the razor on my machine to create straight cuts, but the machine is really what makes these bags worthwhile.
Daniel Stark : Pretty good. Pretty Sandard.
There is not much to say here.
⭐ It's a solid product, and it seals just fine. ⭐ You get quite a lot more than your average role, so they are pretty efficient and budget-friendly. ⭐ They work with different vacuum sealers, which is very important BUT ⚠(And here is my only negative which is not a negative to ME but it's my job to let you know lol) ❌ Since these are THICK ROLLS, make sure your vacuum sealer handles roll on the thicker end. Otherwise, it won't fit.
That said, they are pretty good. Make sure you do your DD, but to me, these are a no-brainer.

Peter J. Ward : Easy and firm
No surprises with this item. It is thick enough to withstand some scuffs in the freezer but flexible enough to vacuum seal readily.
Jennissee : Thicker & stronger than everything else I've used in the 8" wide sized bags. ????
I just got started vac-sealing ~all the things~ and I never knew just how dang satisfying it would be! From the process itself, to the neatly arranged, pre-sorted meals I have stockpiled in my freezer, I will never go back to using zip top bags for food storage in the deep freeze. In the 3 months time I've been vac-sealing (anything & everything), I noticed the 8" width bags are my most used size. I've gone through a couple 8" rolls from other suppliers already, and these bags from Goscien are thicker than every other brand I've used. They seal up tight and do a great job of locking out freezer burn. You get 33 ft. of material for $15, delivered straight to your door for free with Prime. What more can you ask for?
Allison Montesanto : Great purchase
Convenient to be able to cut to the size you need, making it easy to seal anything. Wrap I’d think and durable. Can see a different between vacuum sealed food vs food in baggies in the freezer
H. Martin : GOSCIEN Vacuum Sealer Bags
If you use a vacuum sealer, you're familiar with these type of products. I can never have enough sealer bags or rolls in my home. This comes with two rolls of 8'' x16.5' bags. When I first started using a vacuum sealer I used already pre-sized bags and then I discovered rolls of vacuum sealer bags. I really like that with these rolls I can pick the size that works best for my item. It can be small or it can be large. It's easy to cut and then just seal both ends. I like to seal one end before putting my food product in. These bags are just as good as the others I've tried. They have a nice weight and have been easy to seal. These bags work with different vacuum sealers. This versatility is great because you're not married to one brand. This is a good deal for two rolls of sealer bags!
D.M. and Sherry K. Hayes : Thick Rolls, Worth the Extra Expense
Ordered these to go with my new vac sealer. I had never owned one before, but I instinctively knew I would need more bags than what were included with the sealer unit. I was so glad I had these on hand! I had baked some pastries and needed bags right way, more than were included with the sealer.
These bags are on a roll and are sort of a huge tube, meaning you must seal both the bottom before you insert your item, and the top after you insert the item.
The fact these come in a huge tube makes it easier to economize and use less material than if they were already pre-cut. I have the 8" wide size, but this will not fit everything, such as the pastries which were a bit too wide one way and too narrow the other. It would be great to have more than one size on hand in order to be more efficient.
The material itself is not the thickest plastic, but it is much thicker than the zip bags we buy in the store. The sides have a thicker seal so there is less likelihood of leaks. This is important when you are vac sealing, so they are worth the extra expense.
Marie Edwards : Perfectly Sized bags
I am definitely new to the vacuum sealing game, only due to finances.
In all honesty, putting out that much money ahead of time is a bit nerve-wracking.
It wasn’t until I had the chance to review a vacuum sealer (Fresko Hands Free) that I was able to get it (thank you to the Vine program). I also got the pre-measured bags to go along with it.
Those bags are fine … to a point.
Back when the Tillia (Tilia?) food-saver came out, it was ridiculously expensive, but I believe it had the “rolls” as well.
When I saw these, I got them. And, the first chance to try them – I did.
As it is just my mother and myself in the household, we do tend to have leftovers. Be it half pizzas, half of almost anything … so we go through a LOT of storage bags.
We also get fast food, even stocking up if there’s a X for $X type of sale – mostly sandwiches, burgers. To keep them as fresh as possible I usually used regular bags – freezer type.
But, now? I use the vacuum bags.
I love the roll, as most reviewers have stated, for the fact I get only what I need. Like half of a pizza. I measure it out (length wise of course), snip on end of the “bag” roll, seal. Slide food in and seal it up. No muss or fuss there – perfectly size storage bag.
Even leftover bags of chips get sealed up.
Watch on using the DRY or WET settings – you can smash or crush things. I did the DRY with some leftover crescent rolls. It was sad, but funny. But, a bad way to learn a lesson.
I will not doubt get these again when I need them. Highly recommend!
