Answer: Kraft bags are made of paper, so they would not be heat sealable, unless they have some kind of plastic lining. This sealer works on plastic, poly, Mylar, etc...

Answer: The Kraft bag can be sealed if it's lined with Mylar.

Answer: If it's not a heat sealable bag, then no. It will only work with shrino wrap or heat sealable products.

Does it work on vinyl?

Answer: I don’t think it would work on vinyl

How many times can I use this product before having to replace any part? How durable is it?

Answer: I have used this product for about a year now, so far no replacement parts have been required. I only use this sealer 3 times per week. I suspect if you use everyday, you would need to replace some parts within a year or two.

Answer: I've used mine for a year and a half, and I'd estimate that I've sealed a few thousand poly bags during that time (2-3 second seals each). The tape is a little bit dirty, but not enough to replace it, and I haven't had to replace anything else yet either.

Answer: I have used it so far for several thousand cycles ( bag seals) and it is operating as new. Nothing wearing out or even close to it. Good design. Rugged. And they give you an extra set of replacement heat wires with silicone tape which will probably be what wears out first.

Answer: Hey, I bought mine 2 years ago and I haven't change the heating part but I don't use it often thou . The box comes with one replacement if you need to change it sooner.

Answer: I am not sure. It has an extra one in the box. They seem to last for a long time .

Answer: It's been a few years since I bought it, but I believe it's the 2mm width seal.

Answer: Yes, the impulse sealer works well with Mylar and will seal up to 10mm.

Answer: This machine can seal any kind of plastic bag.

Answer: It doesn't have to be a special bag. Just adjust the settings; use a sample piece 1st is my suggestion.

Will it would to individually seal straws? I sell tumblers and the straws don't come wrapped.

Answer: I've never done straws, but it does get hot enough to seal them. All you have to do is turn up the dial until you get the right amount of seal. It will take you a few straws until you get it where you want it. After that, seal away!

Is this 5mm seal if not how big is it?

will it seal mylar bags?

Answer: Yes, it seals my 4 mil food bags on setting 2 of 8 and my .5 mill bags on the lowest setting. It will work for any bag that is able to be heat sealed.

Answer: Yes it will seal mylar bags. You should do a test seal, and make the necessary adjustments to the heat setting, so as to just *seal* the bag and not melt it.

Answer: I haven't used my sealer on Mylar bags but it performs as expected on ppt bags. It seals 4 mil bags at setting 2 so heating power isn't a problem at all

Answer: Haven't tried but don't see why not. Mylar doesn't need the 'impulse' function. A regular iron will do.

does this seal bubble wrap and at which setting?

Answer: I used it to seal thin goody plastic bags for a birthday so it would seal bubble wrap. As far as the heating settings, you just have to play around with the temperature setting to see which one will work for you.

I had one of these impulse sealers for at least 25 years until it finally stopped sealing. I bought it used for $30.00 from a store that was going out of business back then. This was a great price for a new one.

I like to buy bulk candy and repackage them into party favors with the heat sealer. I also like to shrink wrap my handmade greeting cards. I need the sealer to seal the opening of the sleeve so I could I could shrink it. It gives my packaging a professional look. I cannot do without this handy sealer. A great product.

Things I really like about this sealer:

1) Doesn't take any time to warm up; just plug it in, align bag and press the arm down.
2) Makes a nice, tight seal. I had to practice a couple of times on different weights of bags, but once I got the hang of it, I feel very comfortable using it.
3) Surprising sturdy and stable, given the price.
4) One bonus that I discovered: I can make custom small bags out of gallon and quart ziplock bags (I've a cat that enjoys chewing corners off bags ... grrr. With this sealer I salvage them.). Also, try making your own pastry bags in different sizes! Fun!

All in all, perfect for me, as advertised, and shipped/arrived in good time. Recommend!

Works fine have seal over a 100 bags so far. With 2mil poly bags I use the 1.5 setting it takes less than second to seal, but you need to hold it down far a couple seconds while it cools. Else it sticks to the heating element which may not be good for it. It still sticks to the arm slightly but that doesn't hurt anything.

I use this to seal and store my action figures in plastic bags. I can take one plastic bag and store 2-3 figures in one bag. This sealer has saved me a lot of money on plastic bags. Sometimes if I sell a figure it's professionally sealed. Also ideal for organizing other small things around the house so little things don't get lost. I was wondering what the difference was, except 100 or more dollars.
I ordered this, plus some polybags, plus some small mylar bags.
The polybags sealed amazingly well.
What's funny is, the Mylar bags sealed amazingly well too!
The polybags sealed at 2 1/2 to 3.
The mylar bags required 5 to 7.
So if you don't mind experimenting with the settings, you are getting a cheap, all in wonder.

I bought min in September of 2012! used it for about two months. then it was in storage since then. And I just finished packing over 650 cookies with no issue. It takes time to figure it out. but it works great.
1. Use the correct bags
2. Watch youtube videos to help you figure out how to use it.
3. this is a must have for food vendors to seal things!!

Amor Cielo G Monjes : A Great Tool For Indulge Gourmet Catering!

Trying to establish my branded name of Indulge Gourmet Catering throughout the Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland areas, I needed to start small with some tasty goods but needed an affordable way to distribute my goods without the need to buy plexiglass display cases to start getting my products out there in other business establishments. This seal machine turned out to be a great way to keep my products sanitized, easy to handle, and be displayed on a shelf without having to worry about expensive display cases. This seal machine seals really well, but to ensure a good and lasting seal just in case, I sealed my cellophane bags twice creating two separate but very close seals. I am now able to launch my branded name by getting my name on these smaller items as starters and to just get my name distributed. I am able to create gourmet snacks and other goods with my Indulge Gourmet Catering logo on my products because of the seal machine! Great item if you are starting a business and want to get your brand and product into the public domain!
