Answer: Not sure, but I use mine 2X/day to weight multiple buckets of feed. Kept in storage container year round. When it's cold, it seems to freeze up when first turned on...when that happens I turn off, then immediately turn back on which usually does the trick. Only complaint is no back light, which the more expensive version has but I found to be not as accurate.

Answer: I've never tried mine adding weight to it, but I would venture to think it will measure as you add weight, cause when I weigh fish, it weighs them very quickly, and If I add a little pressure to the fish it will show the increase...hope this helps.

Can't even make it a winter without turning to junk. Into the trash with the rest of the digital stuff. Mechanical scale from now on.

Big Daddy Roy : Pound for pound (ounce for ounce) it's a good scale
While it's not the best scale out there it meets/exceeds what it described to do so I gave it 5 starts. I wanted ounces for bass fishing as tenths of a pound do not provide enough resolution. I don't care if it's truly accurate, as long as it's repeatable. I need to find the 5 biggest fish and ensure that a lighter bass measures lighter every time I measure. I don't need to measure more than once, but I want to ensure that when I do measure I get a good stable reading so when I measure a heavier fish it simply measures heavier. If you fish tournaments you know what I mean.
The single button concept seems to work well. I don't need to track the memory from tournament to tournament. I simply want to pick it up, tare if needed, and measure the damn fish. Don't have time to navigate menus for each weigh. This does the job and would purchase again.

Wouldn't turn on the first time I used it after checking it at home. Took off back battery cover, Then came on and worked fine. Appears to be affected by heat, or have a cheap LCD, or else was laying on the button in my storage box. I like that it measures in lbs and oz.

I was happy with the products design for usage and it's operation. However I found that it can't be thrown in a tackle box and expected to work when needed. The battery compartment lid fell off and was quickly lost. I also found that the button gets pressed when stored haphazardly and the battery is dead when needed. You need to find a good place to store it and make sure that it doesn't get accidentally actuated.

I have the same problem that another reviewer has using this scale. I found out that my fish don't weigh nearly as much as I thought they did. Oh well that's fishing. Lots of other reviewers have checked these scales and verified they are accurate so I don't see the need to redo that exercise and will take their word for it. The reason I knocked 1 star off the rating was because without the owners manual it was baffling to me on how to get it back to weighing in lbs when it was accidentally switched to kg. If you are running into the same problem the solution is when you press the button to turn it on and it starts flashing to press the start button again and it will go back to measuring in lbs. Yeah, it sure seems simple enough now that I've searched the internet for 10 minutes to find that answer but of course everything in life seems simple once you know the answer.

Just received this product this morning and had to try it out. Picked up a 15lbs dumbbell and the scale read 15.44lbs. Since this dumbbell is a cheap store bought weight I'm going to say that the scale is correct since bumbbells don't have to be exact weight stated. The scale is extremely light weight but felt sturdy when I had the weight on it. It takes a 9v battery and also has a tare function. Great buy but time will only tell since I only fish saltwater.

Very accurate! It's a tad bit on the large side for people (like me) who never catch fish bigger than 5lbs, but I can see why having a large handle would be nice if you're trying to dangle a 45lb fish from it. On the plus side, the unit weighs very little.

We've had the more expensive model for many years, but has been acting up so we decided to purchase a backup. Went for the cheaper model because of good reviews and never used settings other than tare and pounds/ounces of old scale. Use these scales in extreme temperatures many times a day to weigh feed for farm critters. Older unit has served us well over the years, but this one seems to be more quick to register weight accurately. Other than occasionally missing having the back light, we have been impressed and happy with performance. The unit feels light and does not inspire confidence that it could survive a fall from great heights. So far the unit is performing well and has cut down on time weighing feed.

Works great. It would be easier to weigh fish if the hook was longer. The overall hook should be larger. As it is now, it's difficult to get the fish on properly so that it doesn't fall off.

So far, works ok- a bit slow to turn on but fairly accurate. Needs a large hook to better hold fish. Large ( 3-5lb ) small mouth bass often flounce around and come off the hook while weighing.
