Advantages of Using FoodSaver
Premium-Quality Bags & Rolls
FoodSaver bags have specially designed channels that remove oxygen, creating an airtight barrier that locks in flavor and prevents spoilage and freezer burn.
Seals Freshness In
The vacuum sealing system automatically removes all the air from the bag and then uses heat to create an airtight seal, which locks out moisture and air to protect food and maintain freshness.
Easy to Use
Simply add food to the bag, insert the open end in a FoodSaver heat-seal vacuum sealing system, and the machine takes care of the rest: removing all the air before creating an airtight seal.

Questions about FoodSaver 1-Quart BPA-Free Multilayer Construction Vacuum Zipper Bags, 18 Count
Q:
can they go in freezer?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Absolutely!! That's the joy of them, no "freezer burn", ever !! Great for keeping cheese too. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!
Answer: if you check the FoodSaver website, the ziplock bags ARE NOT recommended for freezer storage.....only for refrigerator storage. I'm so PO'd because that's what I bought them for.
Answer: Sure, you can put them anywhere you want - doesn't mean they are going to work reliably though. I found the worst failure rate was trying to use them in the freezer - these are already hit or miss for whether they will work, and putting them in the freezer only increased the failure rate.
Answer: Absolutely! Use them all the time. I date outside bag and after months they look the same as the day they went in.
Answer: Hi C. Ariston - Absolutely yes. - Bobby Blue
Answer: Yep they sure do. But you can only re-seal them once or twice if you need to take something out of the bag and then re-freeze.
Answer: yes they can. enjoy your food saver
Answer: Yes, we do it all the time.
Q:
Can these be used with a manual hand pump?
Answer: I use them with my Ziploc manual hand pump.
Q:
Can these bags be vacuum sealed?
Answer: you can remove the air temporary with "FoodSaver FSFRSH0051 FreshSaver Handheld Vacuum Sealing System, White" available at Amazon.com but these bags are not made to be sealed with the Foodsaver machine with the heat strip
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: yes they can, and they hold their vacuum very well, for me. And they can be repeatedly be vacuum sealed, as there is no melting of the plastic. Very clever simple valve works well. I have found more uses for these bags too. As you can remove the air from a zip lock with these bags also. But there is a trick to it.
Answer: That's what the whole system is about. You get the vacuum and the bags that can be sealed.. It's a wonderful way to keep foods sealed and safe from detioration when frozen. YES the bags can be sealed, that's their purpose.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Yes, these type bags can be vacuumed by two different FoodSaver products. The handheld unit and the heatseal units that have the hose attachment. The heatseal units with hose attachment require a device that goes on the end of the hose. It is not available on Amazon but it is available for around $10 on the FoodSaver website. The handheld unit is available on Amazon and at my local Kroger and Walmart (as well as these bags).
Answer: Yes, they can be sealed with the special attachment piece purchased separately.
Answer: Yes, but you have to have the vaccum adapter.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Can you seal with fm2000
Answer: yes if you get this adapter , "FoodSaver FA2000 Handheld Sealer Attachment" , it is on amazon , you might have to paste this link https://www.amazon.com/FoodSaver-FA2000-Handheld-Sealer-Attachment/dp/B01DIWDYOA/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=FoodSaver%C2%AE+The+New+Handheld+Sealer&qid=1577234303&sr=8-1
Answer: I don’t know what fm2000 is?
Answer: I don't know. Most of the bags I've bought stop working after a couple of times and let air in. I went back to using zip plastic bags which I use a number of times.
Answer: I’m not sure so I can’t help
Q:
How many times can they be reused?
Answer: The bags are re-sealable for every day use! However we do not recommend that they be washed and reused because it might compromise the ability to create a proper vacuum.
Answer: I reuse them until the little plastic sealer disk falls off. I hand wash them with dish soap in the sink, and let them air dry before putting them back in the cupboard. I can get more than 5 uses out of them if the sealer disk stays on.
Answer: Although I have consciously kept count, I would guess about 4 or 5 times before the bags lose the ability to reseal. I cannot say if that the nature of the bags or if somehow I contribute to that through handling. Hope this helps. Soon I hope to graduate and upgrade to a countertop vacuum sealer.
Q:
Dimensions of the one quart bag?
Answer: 8.0 inches x 8.9 inches. 20.3 cm x 22.6 cm
Q:
Will these work with Reynolds hand held sealer?
Answer: Our FoodSaver vacuum zipper bags are made to work with FoodSaver vacuum sealing systems. Unfortunately, our bags and rolls are not tested to work with other brands' vacuum sealers.
Answer: I use a Food Saver hand sealer and it works with Generic brands....SO, I am just guessing that the
Answer: I'm not sure.If the pod fits over the vacuum hole on bag it just might work. I want to say that the designs are pretty much standard. best of luck.
Q:
All sizes are reusable, or 18 Count only?
Answer: I have only found Quart and Gallon size. Both are reusable! Love this system!
Answer: The quart size that I order are not reusable. I’m not sure about the other sizes.
Answer: What do you mean by reusable? I think any of the bags or roll stock can be cut open then resealed at a new location. If you are using the bags for food I don't think I would want to store something for a while and then cut the bag open, clean the bag, and then use it again.
Answer: No not reusable!
Answer: I don't see any reason why you could not you reuse them all
Answer: I never reuse these bags
Q:
How thick are theses bags?
Answer: All FoodSaver bags are multi-layered with a total thickness of 4 mil. Thanks!
Answer: Similar to freezer bags, thick and reusable.
Answer: A little thicker than ziploc freezer. They are stiffer too
Q:
Why 3 times more expensive now???
Answer: The reason is the shortage during this hard time that we are going thru.
Q:
Are these bags safe to use in Sous VIde cooking? Will they stay sealed in hot water for several hours at temps of 130 to 170 F?
Answer: In regards to your inquiry, we do not have any tested information for FoodSaver Bags and Rolls with the Sous Vide style of cooking. Temperatures above 170 degrees Fahrenheit can possibly compromise the integrity of the bags depending on how the bags were stored, handled, or used after purchase. At most, we would recommend a light simmer.
Answer: Yes on using them with SV
Q:
How about storing crackers?
Answer: Yes, but again why use an expensive bag that is designed to displace air to preserve freshness and if you did this you would have crumbled crackers.
Answer: You can store crackers but you have to stop the vacuum process before they start to crush. I store crackers in original celaphane or other store wrapping and put that bag in either the quart or gallon vacuum bags. Or if you put in without prior wrapping you just have to watch to make sure you don't vacuum them to the crush point. I have had great success. Open vacuum take out what you want, then vacuum back up. Great $ saver only 2 in our household now.
Answer: Absolutely! Our zipper bags are ideal for frequent accessed food such as deli meats, cheeses, baked goods, chips, crackers and more. Happy shopping!
Answer: I agree qwith the other answers you can do it but you need to be careful to not break the crakers when extracting the air and the bags seem kind of expensive for this use. Also you would not be able to extract all the air in the spaces around the crackers so it would not work well.
Answer: If you use a manual vacuum pump and can control the about of vacuum you might be able to usu it. Your best bet is to get a reusable vacuum canister.
Q:
can they go in freezer?
Answer:
Answer:

Answer: Yes, we do it all the time.
Q:
Can these bags be used with the Waring Pro
Answer: These Quart-Sized Vacuum Zipper Bags are compatible with all FoodSaver vacuum systems. Some FoodSavers may require the zipper bag attachment for the accessory hose to remove the air from the bag. Hope this helps!
Answer: not at all
Answer: I don't know for sure
Q:
Are they BPA free?
Answer: When I bought the food saver it said all their plastic bags are BPA free. If you're worried you might get the attachment that makes a vacuum canister out of a wide mouthed mason jar.
Answer: The package says the bags are BPA free.
Q:
How well does the seal hold when storing vacuum-sealed items in the freezer, please?
Answer: The valves are frequently faulty. I found 90% of the bags can't hold they're seal. I returned this item for a full refund.
Answer: Usually pretty well. Make sure you seal the ziploc very tight, I’ve found that’s usually where the failure occurs. Even if some leakage happens, it is still just as good as a regular freezer bag.
Answer: These bags aren't recommended for the freezer. They seal well, but between the cold and things rubbing together in the freezer, the round plastic seal tends to come off, ruining the bag.
Answer: 1 month and holding tight. So far, it's great.
Answer: I have had it stay completely sealed for months. I regularly smoke and freeze meat and when I go to use it, there is never any air leakage. It's always as tightly packed as the day I packed and froze it. I think people that are having issues are either reusing bags or not sealing the zipper well. I've had absolutely no issues.
Answer: Done correctly, I have had food items in the freezer in excess of a year.
Answer: We have been using the bags for just a few months. No long term results yet, but no problems so far.
Answer: Very well. I've had no problems.
Answer: I have never had a problem. Much better than the Ziploc brand.
Q:
What is the thickness of theses bags?
Answer: All of our FoodSaver bags are 4 mil thick. Thanks!
Answer: Thick like a freezer bag. Love them, rarely use the tools anymore. Love them for cheese ... Open to use them real. I use the gallon size too
Answer: They feel just as thick and strong as normal freezer bags
Answer: 950mL
Q:
Can I use my nuwave manual pump on these?
Answer: As long as you can get a good seal, a manual pump should work. The problem with these bags is that no matter what pump you use, they always let the air back in. Very disappointing.
Q:
can these bags be used with the 1085 foodsaver machine?
Answer: The bags are compatible with our FreshSaver hand held machines or our 2-1 Vacuum Sealers.
Answer: I don't think so...it is meant to be used with the small handheld unit. The bags have a hole on the side for vacuuming. .much like a vacuum cleaner hose.haha! I'm not familiar with the 1085, but I have an older counter top unit, and it will not work with it. Hope this helps!
Answer: Unless it has a tube to suck the air out or you use the pistol kind no. I don't like these bags. They are hard to seal and the air leaks in too often.
Answer: I don't believe so. These are primarily used by the small hand held unit.
Q:
8x20vacuum seal bags
Q:
Can zipper bag be put in the freezer
Answer: No. These bags are designed for use in keeping food fresher in the refrigerator and are not designed for use in the freezer.
Answer: Yes I put these in the freezer and they work just fine!
Answer: Yes. Main reason for using them
Answer: Yes, that is what I use them for myself.
Answer: I do it all the time!
Q:
Will these bags work on the VacBird?
Answer: I am not familiar with the vacbird but here is a trick I have used for years with different bags. Get a bottle cap. Drill a small (I used 1/8 drill bit) hole in the middle. Hold the cap over the place on the bag and put you device on top and draw out the air. I don't have to always do this but it works great when I can't get a good seal.
Answer: I am not familiar with the VacBird. FoodSaver products are designed and tested for use with FoodSaver vacuum sealers. It will be the best match. For sure
Q:
Anybody know if these bags are compatible with the pack mate vacu-seal hand-held vacuum pump? (it's no longer sold, i guess).
Answer: I don't think so. The Vacu-Seal bags have a pointed plastic valve that sticks out of the bag, while these FoodSaver bags just have a flat flap of plastic. The pump for these bags needs a flat nose, not a pointy one like the Vacu-Seal.
Answer: I'm not familiar with the Pack Mate system but if it has a suction that you place over an oval flap on the side of the bag then it should work. Take a look at the FoodSaver system to see if they operate the same. Hope this helps.
Answer: We only recommend using these vacuum zipper bags with our FoodSaver brand vacuum sealers. Thanks!
Q:
Will these bags work with other vacuum pumps?
Answer: The zipper bags work great with our handheld FreshSaver, as well as the full size vacuum sealer when using the accessory hose and zipper bag adapter. Happy sealing!
Answer: Possibly, but beware, I've found these bags do not hold a seal for more than an hour or two.
Answer: Any that have a small circular nozzle
Q:
How do these work with softer items - like blueberries and strawberries?
Answer: Yes. But be careful and not pull out all the air because the pressure of the vacuum will crush soft items. Also, these bags are not, I repeat, are not good for resealing or reusing. If you're looking to freeze, freeze soft items on a cookie sheet with parchment paper and then transfer to bag and seal once frozen. Works great that way.
Answer: They work very well.
Answer: It works great. Be sure to set the suction with "wet" and when it "feels" something it won't suck it to collapse. Yes, I learned the hard way!
Answer: Works fine.
Answer: unless the berries are frozen solid, vacuum sealing will draw the juice out and crush them. You could try a light amount of vacuum draw if you put them in a hard vacuum canister. Try to keep the berries dry 'cause they will deteriorate much faster if they are wet.
Q:
Approximately how many uses will one bag get?
Answer: well theres 18 bags you can use it till it
Answer: Unknown but they are great little bags I use with my little hand operated vacumn pump I use on the road.
Answer: It depends on what you place in it. When I put spaghetti in it, I only used it one time.
Q:
What mil of theses bags?
Answer: The total thickness of our FoodSaver bags is 4 mil. Thanks!
Answer: 950mL
Q:
How many times can these bags be resealed? Can they be washed and reused?
Answer: The bags are re-sealable for every day use! However we do not recommend that they be washed and reused because it might compromise the ability to create a proper vacuum.
Answer: I've reused them a number of times but always with the same food in them - that what I love about them. I guess you could wash them out and reuse them with other food. I don't but I believe they would hold up the same as a Ziplock bag.
Answer: Yes, it can be hand washed and reused and resealed everytime with great care. Love it!!!
Answer: I have done this for Jerky, but after a couple of times the seal did not want to hold. Plus it would loose it's shape and thickness a little, but I also use a exta liner made from a regular zip lock back, because when vacuum sealing jerky, the hard edges can cut a whole in the bag. Short answer, For dehydrated foods I would, but for other types maybe not, and not more than twice.
Answer: I have used a few of them several times. They never work quite as well as when they were new, but short term storage is still viable. Make sure that the sealing track is completely clean. A tiny grain of coffee grounds will leak.
Answer: I have used mine at least twice. You can tell if they are sealed.
Q:
Can they handle liquid? I add sauce to noodles and it seems to absorb through the valve?
Answer: Any vacuum bag with a valve will allow liquids to come through if you attempt to suck out every bit of air; you can use these if you recognize that you'll need to leave a bit of air along the top so that you don't pull the liquid into your vacuum device.
Answer: Although the liquid will not seep through the bag, it may seep through the port during vacuuming. For best results, we recommend using the FoodSaver Deli Containers for liquids.
Answer: The vacuum is designed to remove the air, any liquid will get caught up. You must push out as much air as possible and then not let any liquid into the vacuum. I frequently leave a little air with liquid, not a problem.
Can this be used with the 31161366 model Foodsaver?
Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Answer: The bag says they can be used with FoodSaver handheld and FoodSaver Preservation systems. They are made by FoodSaver and work great with my handheld model. Just like the original bags,
Q:
are the bags reusable?
Answer: If you want
Answer: We've reused a couple of them OK. However, one we tried to reuse, would not seal properly. So I guess the answer is that they are mostly reusable.
Answer: Yes. I reuse them. Sometimes the bags don't hold vacuume but over AT&T I'm happy with the product and for my use they work well.
Answer: Bags are reusable as long as its not used to store meat.
Answer: I would say no. I am not happy with this product as they haven't been airtight.....I have purchased twice, returning the first box that let air in and then tried again, same problem. I wouldn't buy these again....
Answer: Yes they are. As long as the plastic that's on, to draw out the air. I reuse mine all the time. Just wash it out really well and air try.
Q:
I'm confused. the picture shows fresh saver, but description is food saver. i have the fresh saver and am looking for bags. what brand is this???
Answer: I just checked the bags, they say both Food Saver and Fresh Saver on them. I don't think you can go wrong here. The machine and bags are from the same company.
Answer: These are the bags I use with my fresh saver, love them. Maybe they just changed the name to not confuse the other bags for the food saver!!
Answer: If you have the hand vacuum, this is the bag you want. Be sure it shows the circle on it where your vacuum goes.
Answer: FreshSaver vacuum zipper bags are manufactured by FoodSaver and designed to work with FoodSaver vacuum sealing systems, including the FreshSaver.
Answer: I have a FoodSaver and these bags worked very well with it. I am not familiar with the product you have, FreshSaver. Sorry!
Answer: Food Saver.
Q:
Can i use these for sous vide? (i'm not planning to re-use bag and i'm only going up to around 140f for a rare steak)
Answer: These bags are designed for refrigerator use only. They cannot be used to heat food in the microwave or in simmering water.
Q:
How thick is the plastic used in theses bags?
Answer: The total thickness of our FoodSaver bags is 4 mil. Thanks!
Answer: There is no indication on the packaging for thickness. It is rated for freezer use. I also looked on the Foodsaver website and do not see any indication of thickness for this item.
Answer: about as thick as the regular vacuum bags without the zipper top. They haven't perfected the valve yet, so there is a certain amount of failure usually after multiple resealing.
Answer: Thickness? Don't know. They work well for the fridge as you can reseal. Have not had any problem to date using in the freezer, however not enough time has passed on some test packages to say for sure.
Answer: They are about the thickness of a standard freezer bag. Good for the fridge but really, not good for the freezer.
Answer: About as thick as the plastic rolls.
Answer: They are much thicker than any zip lock bag. We use them a lot for items we want to re-vacuum..
Q:
A question for the advertiser. Why does it say "18 Gallon - size bags? Don't you think people might find this confusing? I know I did.
Answer: I dont know what it said last month but today it says there are 18 QUART bags. It doesnt mean each bag holds a volume of 18 quarts, it means there are 18 bags. Badly phrased for sure. Could be better stated at "Quart Size - 18 Count."
Answer: The count is 18 and the size is gallon
Answer: I'm not the advertiser; but, wow! Must be a typo. The heading reads "Quart". The box reads "Quart". And, the photos appear to be quart sized. I'd contact the seller and let them know. Good luck!
Answer: It doesn't. QUART SIZED it says.
Answer: It doesn't. QUARTER SIZED it says.
Answer: You're better off returning them, anyway. The valves leak.
Answer: Maybe punctuation "might" help, but I had no probs with it.
Q:
What type plastic are the bags? I see that they are BPA-free, but I want to know the type of plastic. Thanks.
Answer: Aside from BPA free I have no idea. I ordered 2 sizes. I am very happy
Answer: I didn't like them. Don't know what type of plastic they are. Sure you could Google that answer.
Q:
are the bags dishwasher safe?
Answer: No, We do not recommend that they be washed and reused because it might compromise the ability to create a proper vacuum.
Q:
Does the ZipLoc brand pump work on these bags to get out the air?
Answer: These zipper bags are designed to work with FoodSaver vacuum sealing appliances. For further assistance, we would recommend you contact Ziploc customer service. Thank you for your interest in our products!
Answer: Hi. I have not seen the Ziploc pump. The square you need to cover is about 1 inch so if the pump has a large enough circumference it should work fine. I love these bags. So much better than regular storage bags.
Answer: The bags worked great for me with ziploc pump.
Answer: It does! That's what I use. Ziplock brand is hard to find and expensive. These are nice bags, quart size. Just like Ziplock keep food away from the circle or when you try to compress bag-- it won't. Thanks for the reminder-/ time to order some more.
Answer: I have the zip lock hand pump and it works great!! Hope that helps you.
Answer: yes, it does.
Q:
Are these bags for the foodsaver 31161370 cordless food vacuum sealer, handheld?
Answer: Under the feature & details section,
Answer: They will work with any Foodsaver vacuum sealer, be it on the Foodsaver device, or cordless hand held. There is only one on fitting for all the bags as well as the hard shelled containers.
Answer: I don’t know about the number but I do know I use them on my little handheld food saver vac. It’s white and has rechargeable battery. And I use all the time. I use on cheese, meats and veggies. Not on stuff that’s soupy though. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Are they same for boiling food?
Answer: These zipper bags are designed for short-term refrigerator storage, and are not able to withstand the extreme temperatures of the freezer, microwave or boiling. We do not recommend placing these bags in boiling water. Even the heat-seal bags are not designed to withstand temperatures above 170 degrees F, as the integrity of the seals may become compromised. You can heat cooked foods in a FoodSaver heat-seal bag in a simmering pot. Only place heat-seal bags with frozen food inside the simmering water. Hope this info helps!
Answer: In addition to blocking moisture and oxygen that can compromise the freshness of food, the bags' multi-layer construction makes the bags safe and strong enough for freezing, microwaving, and boiling.
Answer: Oh no!!! They are for storage. Do Not boil them please.
Answer: This has a small opening where you use the handheld suction. contact Foodsaver for the correct answer.
Answer: I wouldn't be afraid to do that. The bags are very sturdy, enough so you can use them over again.
Q:

Q:
Has anyone tried these with the FoodSaver V3440 and the included vacuum hose?

Answer: I haven't.
Q:
Can the zipper bags be used in sous vide cooking?
Answer: I think the description says that they can be used in sous vide cooking. If it’s not mentioned in the description, I wouldn't trust that they could handle it.
Q:
Are these bags smell proof?
Answer: FoodSaver Bags are 5-layer including an outer layer of nylon. The nylon layer not only makes the bags stronger, it also creates a complete air, moisture and odor barrier.
Answer: Yes I wash them and re used them never smelly ,I store fish and chicken and veggies never had a smelling issue. I hope this helps.
Q:
can i use my built-in vacuum on my foodsaver FM5480 model?
Answer: Yes, the built in vacuum works on these bags
Answer: You will need the attachment that converts the built-in vacuum pump's hookup so that it can depressurize the zipper bag, but yes; this can be done.
Answer: I don’t have that model, but looking at it on amazon it should have an attachment so you can use them
Answer: Not out of the box but you can modify a clear vinyl suction cup by drilling a hole through the center for the hose. fit the suction cup over the place on the bag to draw out the air (valve) and hit the vacuum button.
Answer: It shouldn't be a problem, as long as your vacuum provides a tight seal around the air removal vent.

Answer: I’m sure you can with the canister attachment with hose .

Can these freezer bags be used with the waring handheld vacuum machine ?

Virginia A Piper : Vacuum bags are my favorite way to store and freeze food.
These bags are exceptional because they are so sturdy. I wash and reuse which makes them economical as well!!
Mary Adams Gilbert : Foodsaver Zipper Bags
It took a bit of trial to learn how to seal but they do a great job once sealed Once I learned how to use these they were easy to use Food really fresh after sealing It was a good buy for the money The manufacturer was out of stock and I’m pleased that Amazon carried these
Mississippi Shopper : Not really meant for freezer.
These bags work really well for thing you are refrigerating like sandwich meats some leftovers that don’t have much liquid in them. But don’t tend to function well in the freezer. In the freezer the tend to loose their suction seal and form ice crystals. But for small portions you just want to keep fresh for a short period and will consume over a short period of time, they work well.
Barbara : Yes, freezer perfect with small trick.
Works GREAT in the freezer! Here’s the trick: Make sure the food item is well clear of the circle. Vac-seal and then fold that corner with the circle against the food item. Place in freezer with that folded corner down so the weight keeps it folded. I stack items and sometimes put several of the same in a plastic grocery bag, twisted tight. Not only does this add an extra protection, but it organizes my freezer shelves.
Gina : Meal planner’s dream
I’m big on meal planning and meal prepping. This helps me buy in bulk and easily store foods for months with my food saver. Easy to take meals from frozen to sous vide perfection. I love these and will keep buying them!
VWHITMORE : Love them!
Occasionally the sticker where you seal the bag will come loose and air will get in the bag in the freezer. For the most part, these work well though! I actually don't have the foodsaver brand pump, I use an old Ziploc one (not sure if they still make them) but it works great with these bags and these bags are a lot cheaper than the ziploc ones were. I buy larger packages of meats and divide them up to freeze (cheaper!) so I keep these bags on hand at all times.
Virginia A Piper : Vacuum bags are my favorite way to store and freeze food.
These bags are exceptional because they are so sturdy. I wash and reuse which makes them economical as well!!
Ed : Reusable!!
No need to make a bag, just zip it closed and suck the air out. I have been able to re-use mine several times, Great for things you don't consume in their entirety, just return the unused portion, seal it and remove the air. I like them for cheese, no air - no mold.
L5Rick : Easy to use and works well.
Not so big that it takes up 15" of counter space. The bags are too expensive. I use cheap sandwich bags for what I want to store and put them inside the vacuum zipper bags. That lets me reuse them and, so far, it's working well even in the freezer.
T210 : Finally! A bag that works with my old Reynolds vac
I paid a small fortune for those Debbie whoever bags from QVC only to find that the first batch of bags worked ok (half of the time they lost suction and I might as well have just put the food in a normal freezer bag) but the second set of bags didn't work at all. I don't know if the hole just didn't line up right or what but it wouldn't even suction any air out. I got these Foodsaver bags after I saw another reviewer said they worked with the Reynolds vac. I didn't have anything to seal yet but I wanted to test it out asap (due to some reviewers saying they lose their hold after a few days) so I grabbed some cookies I had just made and threw them in the bag. I'm happy to report that after several days the cookies are just as air tight as they day I put them in there.
Cassie Rosebrock : Useful
I love these! I buy them all the time. I bought the hand held vacuum sealer on here also. These are very useful and help save alot of space
Mo : Maintain freshness
I have used these for several years both to keep foods fresh in the refrigerator and to keep foods from freezer burn in the freezer. Cold cuts stay fresh for days never developing that slimy coating. Vegetables stay crisp in the vegetable drawer of the fridge. All my meats are separated into servings and sealed in these bags. Never to I find anything with freezer burn even after several months.
Todd L. : They suck, or rather they dont suck
They suck, or rather they dont suck. Air renters about half of the bags within a few hours of sealing... im following instructions, no 'sharp' foods and nothing is creating barriers near the ziplock or vacuum ports... a water test revealed air leaks surrounding the vacuum ports , these are pretty much garbage
Diane : Works great, and so economical!
I have been using this system and these bags for 2 months now. I love it! I read reviews before I bought it, because I have a tiny kitchen but wasn't sure about this type of setup compared to the larger heat-sealed system. THIS WORKS BETTER THAN I EXPECTED based on reviews.
I place an open sandwich bag inside the vacuum bag (unsealed), seal the vacuum bag and then vacuum. The result is that, so far, every one of my bags is still sealing perfectly (I got the idea from a review). I store cheese, meat, vegetables like cut onions, cucumbers: everything I can think of, I try. It really does keep things fresh much longer. Nice for a person that sometimes forgets things are in the frig until I run across them later. No more mystery yuck! Pretty fun!
I put these bags on Subscribe & Save. So far, I have had to skip 2 months of orders since they are lasting so much longer than I expected.
pokesfan75 : Not what I ordered
The bag states they are vacuum zipper bags, I’ve ordered these before and had no problems, but these were not zipper bags - they are just normal vacuum seal bags so I can’t use them with my hand held pump like I intended. Not happy with my purchase.
Jc : Ok
After a few days they don’t hold the suction
Ann M. Connors : Bags won’t stay air tight
Frustrated! So many of these bags don’t stay airtight OR the plastic oval disc comes off, yet some work perfectly fine! I want to love this product! I have bought and am using 2 packed of the gallon size and have purchased 4 packages of quart size. But I cannot count on them. I’ve spent far too much $$ on the device and the bags to have poor quality control!

Kindle Customer : Nancy R
I am happy with the product but learned that in order for the suction to work with my hand held vacuum the bag has to be flat with no food interfering with the suction circle. Once I figured that our all was good.
Brooklyn Buckaroo : Good product; terrible customer service
These bags work very well. It took several tries before Food Saver's customer service responded to my question concerning their use for the freezer. Yes, they do fine in the freezer. I have used, and then re-used the bags in the freezer. But if you have any other questions for Food Saver, good luck. It has been over a month since I asked a simple question. They first replied by asking questions about their Meal Saver device that I use. After I responded, they asked again. And again. I am still waiting for a reply.
Amazon Customer : Great for keeping cut fruit fresh!
I'm a full time caregiver for my 86 yr old mother. Every day she eats 1/4 of an Apple with her lunch. I keep the rest of the cut Apple in a vaccine bag. It stays fresh till gone. No Browning or softening. Wipe clean and reusable. Great for use in frig. If using in freezer keep an eye on vaccume. They can get bumped when moving things around and tab can let air in. Don't over fill and fold bag so vaccine tab is folded under the rest of bag. This keeps tab secure and keeps vaccume.
pokesfan75 : Not what I ordered
The bag states they are vacuum zipper bags, I’ve ordered these before and had no problems, but these were not zipper bags - they are just normal vacuum seal bags so I can’t use them with my hand held pump like I intended. Not happy with my purchase.
Beardking : Waste of money
These are worthless. Like other reviewers have said, they steal the first time, but most of the time they are not reusable because they won't hold a seal. Waste of money.
Sm : Some bags lose suction slowly.
I have had several bags losing suction... One in the freezer and the other couple in the fridge... You can refill the fridge ones losing suction, but once frozen you ruin food.. For the price all should work and stay sealed.. I use with the hand held unit.
Gerald E. : Feel free to experiment with a few until you know what is best for you.
Great bags to vacuum seal food in or your favorite cookies so they don’t go stale but for the cookies just suck the air out til the bag closes in on them unless they are hard cookies if so then suck it down tight. If the cookies are softer just suck the air down til the bag is snug against the cookies. Experiment to get Your best result. I prefer crispy cookies so I suck em down really tight.
KathyB : Easy to use - no complaints.
Use these bags with my recently purchased Foodsaver Handheld Vacuum Sealer. Both my husband and I use on almost a daily basis for cheese, meats, cut veggies, even cookies, for both refrigerating and freezing. We have not yet seen the issue of the bags not holding a seal, as other reviews have reported. Some bags we have washed and reused with the same quality seal. No complaints here!
Luv2Shop : Waste of Money
Seals great, but don't expect it to hold. Any bags I use in the freezer end up losing their seal. I have a feeling the cold retracts the plastic seal, breaking the suction. Not my go to.
robert : best bag ever
( these are the vacuum bags that you can reseal ).......I keep my block cheese fresh over a month , hot dogs , chicken, ground burger, etc all do very well and don't get frost burn ....I don't wash and reuse them, but they claim you can
anonymous : So much better than anything else.
I love using these bags in the freezer for items I know that I am consistently taking in and out. This way I don't have to portion things like lemon zest and herbs, I can just place them in these bags and take them in and out at will knowing that when I put them in the air is out and the freshness stays in. I also like them for things that I know won't be in the freezer long. I portion and use the more permanent seal foodsaver bags for some and these for the rest. Much better than the regular zipper bags one buys in the super market for food items in the freezer as everything stays fresher much, much longer while still being able to be used. I find the regular bags don't keep the air out and no matter how much I squeeze it out it somehow sneaks back in eventually. These while having the same function as those supermarket bags, keep the air out permanently while still allowing me to use them the same way (as opposed to feeling it's permanently sealed so perhaps I'll take something else out if I just want a little something) I can use and reuse these to my heart's content.
I am amending my review: I've found that after the first use, these bags become very inconsistent. They may or may not hold the vacuum. I have vacuumed all the air out (and yes, I check the zipper by laying on a flat surface and running my finger over it to make sure it's closed more than once. I've also checked for holes by putting water in the bags and lifting them over the sink, they appear to be fine) only to watch once the handheld sealer is removed, air seep into the bag. I don't know that I will buy these again
Amazon Customer : Reusable zipper bags
This system is much more user friendly for everyday use. My cheese is lasting much longer since I can evacuate all the air out of the bags. The key is to make sure the bag is clean before reusing.
Richard V Farrar I : Works great within limits.
The "LIMITS" are preventing bending of ziplocked seam and and vacuum port. Keeping those areas flat and vacuum has held for several months so far - bends will cause vacuum loss.
Jc : Ok
After a few days they don’t hold the suction
J. Barcus : Good Product So Far
I must say that I've been using these bags for 3 years now and have only had one of them leak. I don't know if some people just got a bad batch or if they're not sealing them properly but other than that one, none of them has leaked and I've used over 200 of these. I don't reuse the bags so I can't comment on their longevity. I also do not keep anything sealed for more than 2 to 3 weeks before opening and resealing or just tossing so again I can't say how they perform when sealed for months at a time. I know typos are as common as smart alecks who comment on punctuation but in my browser view under "want it tomorrow" the small print says "18 gallon sized bags" but the top bold listing is for quart bags. It may be that some people are linked to the product in a different way so they don't always see this but that's what I'm reading. I had to double check when doing the checkout to be sure they were quart and not gallon. Just so you're aware of that possibility. As an added note, you should never place the item to be sealed under the seal flap as this will compromise the vacuum action and seal. Try to keep whatever it is that you're sealing in the bag as far away from the seal flap as possible. Sealing should always be done on a smooth hard surface. It might take a little practice to get the feel of how to place the vacuum sealer on the bag but once you understand how to do it you'll be fine. These bags are really meant for short term sealing of perishable foods and are really not meant for long term sealing. For long term you might want to try the FoodSaver vacuum sealing system which will put a permanent heat seal across the entire opening of the bag.
Stonedigger : Buy a roll of heavy duty packing tape
Great idea but at least half the time the little valve fails to hold vacuum. I also found the many times it was hard to get bag to work in the first place. It often took several tries before my pump could start sucking the air out. Even if one worked at first rarely would it hold vacuum on reuse. I had a roll of heavy duty packing tape on the counter and thought I'd try a piece to seal the valve after the pump stopped. Worked very well. I cut a piece about 1 1/2 inches long , fold over an edge to make a tag for later removal, and put it on as soon as I move the pump. With this addition I can easily reuse bags. Packing tape (heavy duty) is easier to work with than duct tape and so far is doing the job.
Maxine G. : Food Saver Vacuum Sealer Bags
I use these bags to seal such things as 1/2 an onion, 1/2 a green pepper, 1/2 an avocado, frozen veggies when I only use 1/2 bag. I also use them to seal meat, usually in the gallon size bags. It's keep things fresh for about two weeks. I have an upright Food Saver and these are the only bags that work on that.
Jc : Ok
After a few days they don’t hold the suction
Denise : great for preserving freshness and easy to use
Thank goodness I can get these on amazon. I use them all the time they are great for preserving freshness and easy to use. I even wash them between uses, and reuse them.

Ron : Do not sell this product until the defects are corrected.
Is not always air tight after a vacuum seal. Have used the regular FoodSaver bags and am happy with them. But the FoodSaver 1-Quart BPA-Free Multilayer Construction Vacuum Zipper Bags are defective. less than half hold a vacuum. I now use the bags the way I use regular zip lock bags. These bags hurt the FoodSaver reputation. If you can't fix the defects then take off the market.
FG : Love them!
I absolutely love these! They work very well with my vacuum sealer by Chulux...I JUST STOP THEM BEFORE THEY SEAL. The vacume seal is nice and tight. Only down fall is the zipper does not go from edge to edge to fully open, making it a bit uneasy to get large items in...but not a deal breaker. I will be switching eventually to only these.

JG : High Expectations, But They Don't Hold a Seal
The concept is great - put in a zip lock bag, use the small vacuum device to create a vacuum and it's done! Much better than dragging out the entire Foodsaver unit. These things simply don't work. The first time you use it it stays sealed for several minutes, and subsequent seals are only for several seconds. We use our FoodSaver unit all the time, love it, and were looking for a quick alternative, but this clearly doesn't do it. Unfortunately we purchased a couple of the packs so are stuck with them as we only started using them after having them for several months. Word to the wise: if you feel like you have to try these (like I did), don't order more than one pack or you'll be stuck with them.
Keith Christensen : Doesn't seem to hold the air-tightness that it used to
Would love for these to work in the freezer. The plastic disc over the vacuum seal "valve" tends to fall off when used in the freezer. I understand that the directions say not for the Freezer, but that seems to be an area that should be corrected.

Vivian Lee : Reusable
Got this as a gift, I love it doesn’t take up space n is very handy. Has good sucking power as long as your on a flat surface. I reuse my bags at least 3 times as they are a little pricey.
Virginia A Piper : Vacuum bags are my favorite way to store and freeze food.

Kindle Customer : A poor product currently vastly overpriced
for some reason, the price on these has gone up exponentially, on Amazon. when I first bought them they were around $0 .14/bag. They are now $0.91/bag even as a subscribe and save item. Available on other sites for $0.50/bag. They can be used with any handheld vacuum pump that will fit over the vacuum valve or with the countertop Foodsaver machine. They have a high failure rate, as many as 4-5/18 and are worthless as far as a vacuum bag goes after one use. I still have some of the similarly constructed Ziploc bags which are far better, rarely fail, and are often usable multiple times, even after washing. When using these bags with wet items, the vacuum should be shut off before liquid reaches the valve. Pulling liquid through the valve causes them to fail and leak. I would not recommend this product, both because of the pricing and the very high failure rate.
you can compare the product price from Costco, wayfair, bestbuy, lowes, target, homedepot, Walmart, ebay, amazon to find the best price for you
