Answer: Service spools are the only way to go. The line will not degrade indoors at 70 deg or even 90. I have my spools for a couple years and I used to commercial fish, so I buy in advance when they go on sale. I have experienced no problems from weak spots and the line always breaks 2 inches or more from the knot from snags.

Answer: It will last for years if you keep it in a cool place. If you are in a RV traveling just keep it in the refrigerator that's what I do with mine. Hope this helps. I really like the line. the two pound line is very strong for trout fishing.

I was first introduced to this line by a die hard veteran of it in Colorado who used this line on everything from trout to catfish and Northern Pike. And I never tried it out there but, later on after returning to my home state of Tennessee and getting back after Bass and Crappie mostly and trout on the fly rods, I decided after many missed fish on Berkley Fireline, I decided to give it a try! I first tried it on trout in 6lb test using bait and was fairly impressed! It was strong, subtle and very sensitive to the bite! So, I thought after dealing with the Fireline and thinking there had to be something out there that wouldn't spook the fish like I think the Fireline did and so here we are. I use 10lb test on every one of my reels now and after a stellar day on Cherokee Lake here in East Tennessee and catching around 30 bass or so and some of them almost 4 pounds I was totally sold. I was able to get all my hung up hooks and lures off with this line and only broke off one time I think the whole time I was out there. This stuff is the strongest monofilament you will ever use, period!!! I used to brag about being able to haul logs out of the water and bending hooks with the Fireline and let me tell you, I can do the same with this stuff... Buy something else if you'd like but you'll be sorry when that big bass either breaks you off or you even miss the bite due to the fish being spooked by some other line. You simply can't go wrong using Maxima monofilament Ultragreen!
