Answer: This is the number of times you can vacuum and seal a bag before the unit gets to hot to do this. I did have a different one before buying this one and could only do about five to ten bags before it would just flash the lights tell it cooled down.

Excess liquids from moist foods can cause the unit not to vacuum and permanent damage can occur.

Answer: We do moist things all the time. If you have something too wet, the tray will fill fast, but all I do is get the air out and hit the seal button. It works great. My problem with other models is that they would overheat after 20 bags. Not with this one! I haven't been able to overheat it yet and I use it for large quantities all the time. You will be happy with it
Answer: There is a drip tray in the foodsaver which allows some moisture to be extracted, when it comes to meats you can have it sealed frozen, or if it is fresh then it is good to put a paper towel to absorb a bit of the moisture before sealing the meat. The vacuum sealer machine will not be able to seal if there is large amount of moisture, but will be able to extract smaller quantity.
Answer: So this product is not recommended for liquids that’s what it means by moist. You can save fish for up to 3 years!

Hopefully you purchased new, at times they sell it renewed. if you have submitted the warranty you should be good to go. if you are dealing with Foodsaver directly then call on phone. I have found working with different companies they stand by their product. so with purchased through Amazon then pull up order and submit need to return due to failure of product. always buy new online.
Answer: I need more information. Is the actual unit shutting off or is it just not sucking the air out of the bags or is it not sealing the bags? If the unit is actually turning on and functioning but just not sucking the air out of the bags, that’s a different problem. That Hass to do with how much of the empty bag you put into the unit before you close it. You need to put at least 3 to 4 inches of bag past the ceiling unit when you close it. And be sure to keep the rough side of the bag up. I hope this helps.

So far so good. We process our own game and it is holding up well. We processed 4 deer at one time. It never had to cool down between seals.
TM : Great while it lasts
This was awesome for a couple of fall and winters harvesting meat. But it completely stopped working one day, it will not power up I've tried both ways several times. Went to vac seal some fish and it wouldn't work anymore. Disappointed it only lasted 2 years.

Absolute garbage. I’ve had 3 food savers over the years and this has to be the worse of all of them. After 3 bags it quit sealing properly. Wasted another 3 bags trying to seal 1 pack of chicken. Turns out if it’s the least bit wet it will not seal properly. Better off using ziplock bags and save yourself the time and money. Thought this rugged version would be a little more stout and hold up longer, I was way off. This will be my last time getting a food saver product, very disappointing to say the least. Couldn’t get through 1 meat order.

I’ve had this since 2016 and it’s December of 2019 now. I’ve literally packed over 1000 pounds of deer, and fish. This thing is faster than anything out there. I can’t believe there’s any reviews that aren’t 5. I would assume they don’t know how to use it. Lots of tricks to keep juices out of the seal etc...you learn as you go. Just did 3 deer on a trip this month. I’ve used food saver bags and other brands, all of them work good....only issue is when the bags have wrinkles when they are wrapped, but you can still use them, you just have to be careful and stretch them across.

Great unit..loved it. Except it died after using maybe 3 or 4 times (had it 2 mos total). Hard to fall in love with something & then have it puke. Amazon is taking it back but don't think I'll try another of this type....
K. Sizemore : Gaskets go bad and can't get replacements
The gaskets are foam and go bad. They get juices in them eventually and you need to replace them. Finding the upper and lower replacements are crazy hard to get. Tried an aftermarket replacement set and they don't work. Tried to contact foodsaver and they want pictures of the unit along with literally like 15 sets of numbers off it. Way too much hassle for some $5 gaskets that should be available. I'm just ditching the unit and buying another brand at this point.

I have used this for a time now, and noticed at times after sealing bags air does get into the bag. So not sure if it is the foodsaver unit itself, or the bags? Love it for vacuum sealing jars.

I replaced our old V1515 Foodsaver Vac sealer with this machine. They are built on nearly identical chassis. The main difference appears to be the addition of a handle on the far right end, but looks are deceiving.
This model WILL NOT VACUUM SEAL TEXTURED MYLAR BAGS!!! Our old V1515 did fine, both pulling an adequate vacuum and heat sealing the channel vaccum-textured mylar bags.
This vacuum pump sounds even weaker than our decades old Foodsaver. I returned it, it simply won't perform as needed.
Make sure that you buy this one with a liberal return policy, because you will be returning it, if you've ever had a good Foodsaver vacuum sealer.

I used this the first time while fishing. I caught some nice size blue catfish and filleted them out. I attempted to vacuum seal them and found that the heating element doesn't get hot enough to seal with moisture in the way. So my recommendation to anyone is to keep towels around to pat the items dry prior to using this item. As of right now I am fair disappointed with this item for that reason. I was planning to use it on an upcoming hunting trip so I can seal everything and place it in a cooler for easier and smaller storage. I would recommend trying a different sealer.

After a lot more use as previously stated. If whatever your packaging is wet, like freshly filleted fish this won't seal due to if fluid getting in the seal. If you pat dry the items it will seal properly. Finding this out I upgraded my previous review from 2 star to 4. If you plan to wet cure or ferment anything that has fluid this is not recommended. I'm glad I did not get rid of my cheap sealer that has a wet or dry feature so I can store soups or wet items.

Was expecting this to be built heavy for using on wild game etc. Suction is worse than my prior $79 dollar vac sealer and the motor went out after a few months of owning. Latch mechanism is poorly designed and begs for the plastic latches to be broke. Disappointed in this, only reason for having a 2 star review was the dual 12V plug to use while on the road or on the boat and the built in bag cutter. I would not recommend to someone planning on using this for wild game or fish.

This is the best Food Saver I've had in along time I ordered 2 others from Amazon and they were returned because of not working, this one does. It bagged up links sausages as well as moose meat. I usually portion out my ground burger on a cookie sheet and freeze for 4-6 hours Then I seal it so that the blood does not run amuck.. works great. As for soup I freeze it in a small square plastic freezer container it solid, then remove to a Food saver bag and seal. Try this it works.
This machine will get use because I buy in bulk and want the things in the freezer to stay fresh. I recommend this machine for moderate to heavy processing of your game meat or Whole sale ware house purchases

Had this sealer a year now. It works as fast as I do with vac sealing 20-25 lbs of meat, sausage, and smoked fish at a time. All the other sealers I have had overheat and you have to wait several minutes to continue. I always wrap my meat in one layer of paper, a trick I learned from a meat cutter, to keep the moisture from being sucked out of the meat. May sound wasteful to some people but I am very particular about the quality of my meat. It also prevents perforations of the bags by bones during the vac process.
