Are the net/mesh holes 1/2" in diameter? I'm looking for a net to catch sandcrabs......I don't want a sand rake.

Answer: Yes, they are 1/2 inch holes

Does it have a rubber coating on net?

Answer: Mine does not have a rubber coating but I purchased it over 5 years ago. The current model may have been improved with better net material. Mine was more like the traditional twine mesh and does not look like the soft nylon mesh material in the photo.

Answer: Nope. All hard plastic. It’s a great net. Super light and strong.

Answer: It was a present for someone. I believe the opening is an oblonged hoop 14" x 11" at its extreme and non extreme points.

Answer: I'm not sure, however I didn't really like the net, I did like the idea, but I found that on a good size fish the handle didn't stay rigid, so just got rid of it.

How much do hooks get stuck in it? Im looking for a canoe net where hooks dont get stuck

Answer: I like it for what I use, mainly spinners, and soft plastics, with single hooks. Just need to pay attention when using jerks and cranks with 2 or 3 treble hooks. I find they can get stuck easily.

Answer: it's light, strong, easy to carry, very portable. i use to trout fish. single hook lures, ,no problem, but treble hooks or double treble it's get's stuck so badly ,i have to cut hook out. i hooked a rapala in it weds. and had to cut a big hole in net to untangle. but i still carry it everywhere. good luck.

Answer: Nice net but don't use around treble hooks.I use on bass with a single hook.

Answer: I would say yes. It's smaller than I thought it was but I use it during the Maumee river walleye run and it's held up well. Over 5lbs you would need something bigger.

Answer: I think salamanders would just slid right through it, and so would small frogs.

Answer: I don’t have a scale but it weighs next to nothing. A lot less then you think. Light weight plastic but really strong.

Perfect size for the kayak. The only issue I have found with it, is the hooks get caught easily in the net material but definitely not a deal breaker. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a small kayak size net.

Great compact net. I loop it around my belt when bass fishing. I've actually used this to scoop out a bunch of wood chips from an open pit due to a water pipe break. It's held up great. Many trout and bass have been landed with this unit. I'd recommend it to anyone who fishes on the move and doesn't want a heavy net annoying them

A good small fish net. Went bass fishing and ended up with a muskie, this net didn't exactly make it an easy landing. I would suggest a bit of a deeper net to be on the safe side. Even for larger bass.

Sturdy. Easy to use. But short, (it needs to have the capability to add a longer handle). I added one by using hose clamps and a broom handle, but it looks homemade now.

Very nice net. Works great for my kayak fishing that I do. Since the net is not very deep, I am able to net the fish next to the kayak and then slide them into the boat. I am not getting tangled up in the net, like I was with the longer nets.

I am a trout fisherman and use small spinners. About half the time when I landed a fish the treble hooks would get caught in the net. I spent the next 10-15 minutes trying to get the hooks out the net. I ordered 2 nets and gave one to my son, he has the same problem. The trash man took them away.

Very pleased with this net. I took off the handle, shortened the attachment cord and put it back together. This way I can use a magnetic net release on the handle and secure the net to my vest. Keeps the net out of the way but handy when I need it. I use a lanyard to make sure I don't lose the net by accident. The netting material is excellent. Should help protect the fish so I can release them without harm. Highly recommend. Great price!
