is this the 1.5 or 2 amp model? EFS or HDEFS?

Answer: It's the EFS 1.5 amp model. Only model I've ever owned. Works great on all freshwater fish as well as saltwater species like red snapper and grouper. I've never been tempted to try another type scaler.

If you like your fish filleted. You need this product to save time and energy. Why pay someone to fillet your fish when you can do it better and cleaner yourself. Worth the investment.

Worked ok for first few try then didnt work any more.
Had for over month so didnt bother to return it.

Motor is not poweful enough to remove scale (sunfish) it gets stuck on scale and wont turn.

I have owned one of these since the mid 80's. Works on all size of scales. Cleans up very easy. Turn it on and spray it with a hose. Best use is outside because it does spray scales a little ways.

I'm surprised at the bad reviews especially the one that said the cable lasted only 2months. I've had my unit for so long it was before I even heard of a company called Amazon. I wont say that it gets professional use but ive used and abuse that things in such a way I'm surprised it does still work. The only issue Ive had is when I left it out in the elements it from up on me. I solved that issue by removing the cable and using vegetable oil to pour down and lubricate the shaft, it took a little while but it was back to working condition.

the fish scaler i purchased was small in appearance. the motor looks small,but only in appearance. the motor seams to be very effective at operating the scaler, i have used the scaler on several occation scaling numerus fish i was pleased at it ability to do the job so far.
