Are these Weston 11x16 " sealer food bags...11" across? My Foodsaver can only seal bags up to 11".

Answer: Yes, they measure 11" wide and 16" long. They are a great prodcuct made by Weston. The Weston bags are cheaper from Amazon than they are on the Weston website! Believe me, I did a 'price comparison' at many different websites and found Amazon prices to be the best. I hope the information helped!:)

Answer: I don't have a ruler handy, but they are longer than wide, so I assume that would be 11." Love these bags, by the way!!

can i serve boiling food in these bags?

Answer: I would not consider doing that at all. You could warm food in them but again be aware of the harmful chemicals released when they are heated. I would not do either, boiling or heating.

Answer: I know you can boil the sealed bags in water to reheat or thaw.

Where are these made?

Answer: Hi carmen!

Answer: These work exceedingly well as long as you keep them clean of hard food items which might dry on them. Just clean them gently with a paper towel. I recommend them highly. Made in China

This only works with small bags, despite the description stating it will work with an 11 inch bag. It does not have the power to vacuum larger bags, it does not perform as well as my $40.00 food saver. I was hoping for better

These bags work great and are less than half the price of other bags. When I researched the cost of these bags, I found that the bags are cheaper than the rolls (cost per foot). Consider buying the bags rather than the rolls. Highly recommend!

Was expecting zipper lock bags, did not get those, got the regular vacuum seal ones.
Disappointed. Even the box the bags came in said zipper bags on it. But the contents were regular bags.

Great bags, we have sealed over 100LB of meat so far using these bags with our Weston sealer and we have not had one single failure! NOTE: I have not tried these bags with any other sealer than the Weston Pro-2300 sealer..

I'm almost done with that bunch of bags and I'm really satisfied. I'll get some more pretty soon. They seal properly and work very well for sous-vide cooking. There is absolutely no reason to get ripped off buying food saver bags.

Only negative thing I can say is that they are not as acoustically pleasing to the ear as the food saver bags so I removed 1/10th of a star which still rounds off to five star rating. Anybody that get violently angry at seemingly insignificant sound of plastic bags should absolutely not purchase these bags.

I cannot say enough about these vacuum bags! From the way they are packaged to their performance, I will never order another brand of sealer bags again. These bags are extremely sturdy, strong enough to take extreme sealing tasks and even strong enough to boil in. First, about the packaging: I know this may change but mine came in a flat box the actual size of the bags and the reason I love this is because I have the huge black FoodSaver Sportsman sealer that is literally nearly two feet long and a foot deep. I store it on my kitchen rolling cart I use as an island and these bags fit perfectly on the shelf flat under the sealer. I also have a small basic Rival sealer I use for lighter duty items that stays on it's side next to the bigger one. These bags are so easy to just reach down and grab one from the box. Another great thing, these bags are huge, big enough that if I need quart size bags I can just cut one of these in half and seal the open end to create two bags, if I need them deeper rather than wider I just seal the wide end and cut the narrow end open. These bags are super strong! I was planning on buying some lighter bags as well but after seeing how I can cut these I am just going to use these since the price is cheaper than the lighter bags. I waited until I had used them on something really rough on bags and seen how good the vacuum would hold before I reviewed them. Well, the first few days I had them, I sealed thirty pounds of pork spareribs, odd ends and all and they handled the rough, sometimes kind of sharp edges with no problems whereas the other more expensive name brand bags would often split. Furthermore, it has now been several weeks and the seals/vacuum are holding perfectly. We used the first batch last night in the pressure cooker and they were as good as freshly butchered. As for lighter items, I have sealed the following: ground beef, chicken, pork chops, turnips, potatoes, onions, carrots, mixed chopped vegetables, corn on the cob, various fish fillets, and two large mouth bass. All have sealed perfectly with no issues and have held the vacuum. On items with a lot of liquid, such as the ribs with a lot of blood, I seal the very top edge once more to hold in excess fluid and ensure the seals but this hasn't been needed, just my preference to avoid having to clean up the blood. A lot of bags will not allow a good seal through blood but these do. As you can tell, I am very happy with this purchase and am going to purchase again when I need to. I highly recommend these bags to anyone!

I have purchased from an online distributor before and was having nearly a 30% failure rate. I was doubtful about these and thought i may have to just go ahead and buy foodsaver brand bags. I read a few of the other reviews and decided to try them out. I have not had one fail yet, of the 20 that i used. I am sold and will continue to buy these.

I use these bags with my very old food saver. I have heard pros and cons on both bag brands. From personal experience I have only had 2 or 3 bags fail. I have awful luck with food saver bags. They seem sealed then two weeks later they are open and food has freezer burn. I have had at least 1/3 of food saver bags fail.

This brand has always worked well for me. I use a Food Saver brand sealer, top of the line. I find more defects in the Food saver bags, these are much better. For larger bags I was using a roll but I calculated it out and it is more cost effective to by these large pre made bags. I have then in 3 different sizes and it meets all my needs. I cook extra food and vacuum seal them for later (made a rotisserie chicken last night and used one of these to seal up an entire half chicken). I also cook using a Sous Vide and these bags work great.

Have used these bags before and received them in a box and the bag holding the sealing bags was sealed.these came in an open bag. Am surprised and it almost seems that someone tried them, didn't like them and sent them back. The 8x12 I ordered and that came from Amazon.com were in a box and the bag holding the sealing bags was sealed. I don't like receiving anything that appears to have been opened by someone else.As to the quality of these bags I will update this review if they are inferior to what I had previously received. I did compare this bag with an older bag and it appears to be thinner and the waffle part that is supposed to allow the air to escape has a totally different appearance...the same with the new 8x12 bags.

This bag is heavy enough to package the really big stuff, like a nice prime rib or plump roasting chicken. It holds a vacuum extremely well and is much thicker than bags made for smaller home vacuum packagers.

The worst part about owning a FoodSaver/Vacuum System is the cost of the bags. I have come to prefer the Weston bags over the FoodSaver(FS) bags. I own a FoodSaver Brand vacuum sealer and started using Weston bags and rolls almost exclusively about a year ago. The cost savings is quite substantial. Compared to FS, the bags do not feel as thick, and they do not have the same "waxy" feel. Weston bags and rolls seem to seal a lot better as well, and I have not had nearly as many seal failures as compared to the FS bags.
