Answer: Generally things that only produce heat cannot freeze dry.
Answer: No. It is more like an oven than a freezer. More-or-less the same result, though.

Answer: The unit comes with a plastic tray normally used for fruit leather which can double as a drip pan. I have used it without the pan and cleanup is really easy. When I made jerky there was very little drip from the marinade.

Love it sofar . Tried it with bacon and worked perfect. My next thing is going to be beef jerky.
Karen L. : So far so good...BUT
First attempt to make jerky with it. Temp was a little finicky.( I was running a digital thermostat during the whole cooking time) I removed the meat from the refrigerator 3 hrs. before putting on the trays. I only had about 2 lbs. of jerky meat so it took 5 trays and I spaced them every other space. I set the temp for 170 (max) but it never reached 170. When I first got the unit I put my thermostat in and it actually got up to 182 so I was pretty stoked. As the meat dried out, the temp did go up, and eventually made it to 170 and I backed it down to 165 which for my liking is the happy spot. It dropped a couple of degrees below 165 when I had it set at 165 but overall, it held steady. 2nd batch coming up this week. going for 3 lbs. @ 170 for 2 hrs than dropping down to 165 for the final 3 hrs. SET A DIFFERENT TIMER!!! The one that goes off after the cooking cycle is LAME, If you are doing ANYTHING, you won't hear it!!!

INCREDIBLE! I’ve been looking for a dehydrator for so long, and I finally decided to go for it. I cannot say enough good things about this one. Not only does it look sleek, it also has some really nice features. It can hold a lot. In the picture, I don’t even have all the racks in and it’s easily holding 4 bananas and lots of strawberries. The timer is my favorite part! I set It and don’t have to worry about things getting too dry. I’ve used it every single day to make healthy snacks for my kids. I am a hunter, and have also used it to make lots of deer Jerky! The strips have come out perfectly every time. I highly Recommend this!!

Product arrived with a noticeable dent on the top side corner. There does not appear to be any damage to the shipping package that would have caused a dent during transit. I am assuming the dehydrator was shipped with it already dented from an initial manufacturing or handling process. It may not affect performance, I have yet to try it out. It certainly affects aesthetics of an expensive appliance that should look better in the kitchen. Disappointed.

Bought this back on July 31st, 2021. Berries, citrus fruit, jerky. All have come out great. Enjoy the recipe book as well. Easy to follow and even easier to dehydrate.

Looks fantastic, nicely designed and fits perfectly in my stainless steel kitchen. Very quiet during operation. Has a large heating element inside which reached 170 degrees in about 5 minutes when I tested it. It has dishwasher safe stainless steel wire racks so I don't have to hand wash them. Controls are front facing, easy to see and use. Very intuitive interface, just set the temperature, time and you are ready to go. I'll be making my first batch of turkey jerky and I'll update this review with any additional information.
