Is the net supported by a metal that will rust?
Answer: Might be metal, but I don't see it rusting at all. Primo net, get it u will be happy
Answer: NO, I believe that it is supported by either aluminum or plastic. I am not sure, but I use it in salt water and it has not rusted. I use it for live minnows/killies in my livewell to catch fluke! I have not tried this, but is is lightweight and I believe that it will float.

Answer: Yes. I used it in the Gulf of Mexico on my boat catching almost bream size fish in my bait box.
Answer: It's a small net best suited for a live well on a boat. If you are looking to catch small bait fish, you should go with a casting net. Those are pretty easy to use after a little practice.

Answer: This is not the type of net to use for catching sand crabs. For sand crabs you need a 1/4” metal net that you can dig down into the sand while rotating your feet to dislodge them from the sand.
Answer: You're looking at digging into wet sand. I'm not sure this net can stand-up to that. Maybe a large mesh colander? Think ing outside of the box.

Answer: The mesh holes are too big. You have to use the small net that typically comes with minnows. I use this net strictly for saltwater pin fish.
Answer: It works well for catching them in a bait well, but the meshing maybe a bit large for catching a lot of them. I use crappie sized minnows sometimes, not sure how those compare to what you're referring to. Anything smaller and I'd have to recommend looking somewhere else.
Answer: No size minnows could swim through this mesh. You are safe from that problem. It is almost like cheese cloth.

I have not had it for long so I can't say how it will hold up over time. I have had many of these and I have a fish business so I have some experience. This would appear to be very well made and I expect it to last for some time. I would highly recommend this based on what I see and feel at this point. Can't really go wrong for the cost.

Let's face it a bait net is a pretty simple thing. Still, in the worldwide race to the bottom on cost, there's a lot of junk out there. This one is well thought out, decently made, and works like it should. Pay a couple extra bucks and you'll be a happy camper.
The handle was a little long for my baitwell use, but that's easy to modify. As noted in other reviews the plastic covering on the wire is a plus for not scratching up your fiberglass. For most people it'll be perfect.

Not long enough. Added a piece of dowel to add length. Now I'm able to get larger sandcrabs.
