Answer: No, it does not. I purchased 100' feet of 3/8 " nylon line and a 4" float and a brass clasp to complete the set up. I have not seen one for sale that dd include the line.

Answer: I use the 54" on a 19' open mako boat in 25 to 30 km per hour winds and swells off the coast of Newfoundland it works for me fishing bottom fish. If I had to get a new one it will be bigger, their is a chart for boat to wind size, if the price it to high you think on using 2 drift controls to match your boat.
Answer: I use mine on a 20ft in heavy swell. It works great and I use it probably 150+ days a year. You may want two for a 36' footer.

Answer: It isn't so much the size of the kayak, but the amount of wind that you are going to experience. I have both a 36 inch and a 18 inch (approx) for my 17 foot power boat. That boat has higher sides than a kayak so the larger chute works best in 10-15 mph winds. If your winds are light, then a 12 or 15 inch chute may work fine. HIgher winds, bigger chute.

It takes my trolling speed on a non windy day from 2.8 MPH, right down to 1.8, just in range for salmon. I tie it on about 15’ behind the boat so it won’t interfere with the downrigger. It rolls up easy for storage and I just keep it in the boat all year.

Answer: You need to install a pulley going to bow for anchor and another pulley for drift sock. Each will have a ring to loop line through with float for quick release. See YouTube for instructions. Single line attaches to either anchor or drag chute.

I have a 150' string of decoys off the bow and the drift bag submerged with a weight off the stern. It barely keeps my rig straight and doesn't slow the drift down at all.
Answer: Just my opinion, as I never owned a large pontoon. I'd go for the largest size available. Pontoons catch a lot of wind. You can use a small piece of line to partially collapse the chute if it is too much. Be certain to add a float to keep it near the top of the water column.

I have Grady White 20" boat and used this sock to slow down drift in 2' waves and 7-10 mph wind. This sock was broken during first hour of use. 2 belts fell off. Almost 1 foot of stitching came apart. Material is Ok, but quality of assembly is awful. I'm not a specialist in stitches and showed it my wife for inspection. She told me that we have to redo all stitches with backing material before it can be used. The original stitching is not designed to hold any load even in light winds. Re-stitching will cost 30-50 bucks.

I bought the 60" in August 2016. I use it slow trolling for crappie. I like the fact it has a weight and a float to aid In opening. It's made of rugged material that will not tear easily. I have an 18' fiberglass boat and this sock does a great job slowing the boat down in high wind conditions. I'm am currently buying another to use in tandem in winds >20mph.

I was really disappointed in this product after reading good reviews about Lindy branded gear. The #1 issue is the buoy. It is cheap lightweight styrofoam like disposable coolers are made of and will not last very long. Worse, the styrofoam is painted with super cheap orange paint that is sticky and comes off on everything. When I removed it from the package a 3” section was stuck and peeled off. Took it out on the boat and it got too close to a life jacket and the paint transferred to that and ruined it. A plastic buoy would have made much more sense, and I may end up having to replace this one soon. For over $27, this was a huge disappointment. It’s just a nylon webbing strap with small carabiners on the ends.

This thing is HUGE and I didn't realize how big it is till I opened it . I ordered this for my 21-ft mako center console which I got to try out yesterday . It works perfect for what I need which is to slow me down while I'm drifting. it cuts my speed down to half and allows my bait to stay in the zone longer. It is rated for 21 ft boat but I think it can hold a much bigger boat just fine depending on where you tie it up .. just don't forget to bring it in before you get on your way that's how I lost my last one

Doesn't really slow my drift down too much on my kayak in coastal waters. Fish can become tangled in it as you bring them up. Lately I've been better off using an anchor or tying off to a trap pot float. I used it next to a buddy both in kayaks and we were drifting the same.

I bought this 60" drift sock to slow down drift while fishing. I've been using it with 20' Grady White boat in 10-15 knots wind and 2 ft waves. One of the straps fell off after first 2 hours of use. Amazon has replaced it promptly. Second drift sock worked for few hours, than it developed long 1/4" cracks on the inside layer of material. So, I gave up and decided to return it for refund. All claims that this sock is made for rough weather is a lie. It will fell apart in 20 knots wind due to the poor quality of material and craftsmanship (unless you are planing to use it on one person canoe).

Doesn't really slow my drift down too much on my kayak in coastal waters. Fish can become tangled in it as you bring them up. Lately I've been better off using an anchor or tying off to a trap pot float. I used it next to a buddy both in kayaks and we were drifting the same.

Super strong, its handle my 29’ amberjack searay very easy in a heavy wind, Attache rope that will cut before damage the sock in case of extra load put on there (setting the drag) like forgot to trip the sock and drive the boat :-)

Updated, This thing is fantastic!! Slowed my 1984 Bayliner from 4 mph to 2mph. It really pulls your boat one direction. Don't have a middle hook for skiing, otherwise I'd put it there. Great buy!!!

I bought this 60" drift sock to slow down drift while fishing. I've been using it with 20' Grady White boat in 10-15 knots wind and 2 ft waves. One of the straps fell off after first 2 hours of use. Amazon has replaced it promptly. Second drift sock worked for few hours, than it developed long 1/4" cracks on the inside layer of material. So, I gave up and decided to return it for refund. All claims that this sock is made for rough weather is a lie. It will fell apart in 20 knots wind due to the poor quality of material and craftsmanship (unless you are planing to use it on one person canoe).
DH Walters : 54” On Our 23 Foot Walkaround Has Increased Our Fluke Catch!
Only been using this for 3 weeks but have seen a significant increase in our Fluke catch on Western Long Island Sound. The 54” slows our 23 foot Walkaround’s drift down to that magic speed of 1 knot or so in typical windy conditions. Bought a 6 foot, 1” wide towing strap for 7 bucks on Amazon and a large stainless locking Carabiner to attach the two. The loop on the strap fits a boat cleat well and a turn or two around the cleat adjusts the length. For a float I used a block of polyethylene foam from an old swim aid and pulled the strap through it’s slit. It all fits nicely in a 24” X 36” Champion Sports Mesh Sports Equipment Bag ($6). Easy to deploy. Easy to recover (pull close and grab the yellow strap and in she comes). Easy to stow. Appears sturdy and well made. Will get a lot of use out of it.

I've used this sock twice, both times in Monterey Bay on a small skiff. It's effective at slowing the boat in windy conditions but after the second use, I noticed the fabric has torn (ruptured) in two locations. One of the tears is at the end of a strap at the opening end and the other is near the outlet. This could have been resolved easily by either using heavier fabric or by running the straps the length of the cone to ensure the stress is always going into the heavy straps instead of being abruptly transferred to the weak fabric--causing the fabric to rupture. This sock is probably adequate for lakes but it cannot cope with the sudden jarring caused by ocean swells. I cannot recommend this sock to anyone because it's useless after two days. I will be looking into another sock from a different manufacturer.

the drift was controlled then it wasn't. Looked at the drift sock and found that one seam had completely failed in less than 10 minutes on the first deployment. I am past the return date because I dont go fishing everyday. I will assume that LIndy will make this right, if not, I will let you all know

I used this in a kayak. When I didn't want to drift fast, I just tossed it over the side of my kayak, and when I wanted to get going, I just pulled it up and slipped it under the bowlines. It worked really well and I'm happy with this choice. I bought the smallest one and it slowed me down enough to fish the shoreline. Great buy, love that it packs down small and I can haul it in my kayak without any problem.

I have Grady White 20" boat and used this sock to slow down drift in 2' waves and 7-10 mph wind. This sock was broken during first hour of use. 2 belts fell off. Almost 1 foot of stitching came apart. Material is Ok, but quality of assembly is awful. I'm not a specialist in stitches and showed it my wife for inspection. She told me that we have to redo all stitches with backing material before it can be used. The original stitching is not designed to hold any load even in light winds. Re-stitching will cost 30-50 bucks.
