Answer: Great reel for most any fishing up to 20 25 lbs. After that the bigger line can be a problem. Also has no reverse, makes it hard for quick casting if you are use to being able to adjust your line by simply turning the handle backwards prior to the cast, but great for trolling.

Very smooth reel! Smooth drag! Only gave 4 stars due to weight and the auto close feature for the bail is rather stiff and very clunky. One of the best reel for the money.

Ich verwende die Rolle zum Waller angeln und bin mit der Qualität der Rolle sehr zufrieden. Ich bin im Besitz von verschiedenen Größen, die ich für das Spinnangeln auf Huchen, Hecht und Waller mit geflochtenen Schnüren verwende. Ich bin mit der Qualität aller Größen sehr zufrieden und hatte bisher noch kein Problem. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist aus meiner Sicht absolut in Ordnung. Andere Hersteller verlangen für ein derartig robustes Gerät, das gleichzeitig noch ein vernünftiges Gewicht hat, deutlich mehr.

SG : Worst reel

I'm sorry but this reel is awful. I bought 2 of them last summer and both of them broke in about 3 days. The drag was defective on both of them. One of the reels had rust on it after the second day. What are the chances of that? A friend of my bought one too, same problem. Penn makes most of their reels in China now. The quality just isn't there anymore. If you want a quality reel stick with Shimano. If I could give this reel zero stars I would.

Klasse Rolle mit sehr gutem Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Ich habe mir noch eine Ersatzspule dazugekauft um andere Schnüre zu verwenden. Ein Aluminiumgehäuse was auch Salzwasser verträgt, war mir wichtig. Ich fische die Rolle zusammen mit einer Sportex Black Pearl. Sehr gute Kombination

I mow fish for bonefish in Hawaii. I have been using my Slammer 460 for over one year now, and I've caught many bonefish with this reel. This reel has a lot of smooth stopping power!
The only minor issue to me is that the case is not water tight. I'm considering getting a Spinfisher V to replace my old 4400SSG which has served me very well over the years. I also own six other older-generation spinning reels in various sizes ranging from the smallest 4200ssg to the 650SS and 850SS (both of which I've used to catch mahimahi from my boat).
Am I a Penn guy? YUP!
