Answer: I think it's 1 1/2 lb per foot

Answer: they are lead. Dont buy Old Salt net ! I had 2 in the past. Now switched to Mako. It is slightly cheaper but much more well made and balanced (***)

JY : Used this for the first time a few weeks ago ...

Used this for the first time a few weeks ago and the netting isn't as durable as my old Hawaii nets. I got caught up on a small rock and the net tore with little force trying to untangle it. My old Hawaii net would have scooped that rock up with no problem.

We did not open the package till long after ordering the net. Once we did open the package and unpack the cast net and try a practice throw we realized there was a gaping hole in the net rendering the cast net useless. Waiting to hear back from the manufacturer.

Perfect all around cast net. Not really meant for big mullet or really large bait. But I've had my fair share of them in this net. Easy to throw, and great sink rate. I may purchase a couple more in the near future at different sizes. Love it!
