Let's Talk Fantasy Lineup For Bassfest At Kentucky Lake 2024

fishing user avatarSenko lover reply :

Plenty of time to pick your rosters for this one. I think it's gonna prove to be a really cool tournament. From what I've seen about Kentucky Lake, cranking is king on it, so I'm looking for solid crankers who don't have everybody and their brother picking them.

Here's mine:

Bucket A: Keith Combs

I wasn't the only one who wanted KVD, so I decided to go with Keith Combs, who is a fabulous cranker as well. Unfortunately, 7.2% have picked him already, but compared to the 42.1& that picked Kevin, I'm content.

I really like Ike as well, and I think Ike's gonna get back at it after not making the 50 cut at Havasu. If I change my mind, it'll definintely be for Ike.

Bucket B: Mark Davis

Mark is a solid angler, and more importantly, an experienced cranker. Only 2.3% have picked him, so I consider him a steal in this bucket.

Bucket C: Brian Snowden

Lot of variety in this bucket. I seriously considered Brian Snowden and Hank Cherry and finally decided on Brian. A dark horse but I think he'll do well.

Bucket D: Kurt Dove

I'll take all the dark horses I can get, and Dove has 0 ownership right now. I think this lake will set up well for the texas people, and I'm confident he can catch them.

Bucket E: Kevin Hawk

Nobody really stood out to me in this bucket, so I went with Kevin Hawk for no real reason.

Good luck guys! Hopefully that 2000 dollar giftcard will be mailed out to one of us after this!!

fishing user avatarMSWV reply :

Bucket A: Jason Christie

Its Christie Time!  He's due a top finish!

Bucket B: Mark Davis

Im with you Senko on the Davis pick..  He knows how to crank a ledge!

Bucket C: Todd Faircloth

Faircloth in Bucket C???  This is a steal.. Faircloth will win an event soon!

Bucket D: Matt Lee

This is a gut feeling.  Hopefully he knows a little about crankbaiting a ledge with his experience on the Tennessee River..

Bucket E: Britt Myers

I believe someone has traded Britt some waypoints for work on their truck and he will rip off a top 10!!  haha

fishing user avatarSenko lover reply :

Well I had the day off school today and I watched the FLW Kentucky Lake event from last year. Brett Hite did really well there and it seems like the FLW went to that lake a lot, so I switched him out for Kurt Dove. A lot of people have picked him but you can't pick all dark horses, as much as I like to.

fishing user avatardanno054 reply :

Since I've had such a bad season I'm creating an algorithm to help me make my selections. Math can only improve my performance. I'm still gathering data, I'll post my selections the first of next week ;)

fishing user avatarMontanaro reply :

I'm going low percentage this week.

Haven't filled out my roster but have 3 picked so far. Sometimes though you need to pick the high percentage guy and hope you beat the other players with your other picks. I played that game two tournaments in a row with Brett Hite (my go to pick since last year) and got burned.

fishing user avatargardnerjigman reply :

Justin Lucas

Greg Hackney

Cliff Pace

Takahiro Omori

Andy Montgomery

fishing user avatardanno054 reply :

I see none of ya'll have done it. But I don't know if I can not pick kvd. His history is too good on Kentucky lake. Two wins, a second and a third. I don't like picking guys with over 10% ownership. I might have to this time though.

fishing user avatardanno054 reply :

fishing user avatardanno054 reply :

Still no KVD

fishing user avatarMontanaro reply :

A. Crews: Crank master with high finishes on Kentucky lake. 1%

B. Frazier: High flying rookie from the region who is capable of fishing ledges or going shallower. 0.2%

D. Kennedy: History of solid finishes at Kentucky Lake. 8%

E. Shimizu: History of top 50 finishes and even a victory at upcoming venue. 5%

fishing user avatardanno054 reply :

You're not the first, my friend :). Maybe on here, but not on fantasy.

fishing user avatardanno054 reply :

If he goes 1300+ points again I'm gonna copy his picks

fishing user avatarSenko lover reply :

Changed up my roster a bit.

Added Kelly Jordan after looking at the 2010, 2009, and 2006 results.

In 2010, he finished 7th.

In 2009, he finished 8th.

In 2006, he finished 11th.

That's not bad! I'm willing to bet on him rather than Mark Davis.

fishing user avatarMSWV reply :

Im sticking with my original!  Theyre talking about the ledge bite being a little tough and Im glad.  With that being said, I like my lineup even more.

Bucket A: Jason Christie

fishing user avatardanno054 reply :

Last night I swapped out J-Pow for KVD. I just need the points, it's easy money. Seperation will be created in the other 4 buckets.

KVD caught 20lbs in his 1st 7 casts this morning....that's just not fair.

fishing user avatarCDMeyer reply :

I am way back in points. So I went safe and picked all big names and mostly #1 in each bucket

Good for you. I think there's a reason why there were the #1, especially if you look at the leaderboard right now.

My guys aren't doing well, with the exception of Keith Combs and Brett Hite. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a top 50 for Brian Snowden, but Kevin Hawk and Kelly Jordan are having a BAD tournament.

But hey, if Brett Hite could pull off a win, that would be awesome. I was confident from 3 weeks ago that he would get a top twelve, and it still looks that way.

fishing user avatarMontanaro reply :

All 5 of my guys have made the top 50. Micah Frazier in top 10. Most in the 30s though so point total isn't real high.

fishing user avatardanno054 reply :

K short was in 110 and make the cut to fish tomorrow!! that will get me almost to 1100. My best round so far. turns out I really stink at this!

fishing user avatarDyerbassman reply :

It's funny how these guys were complaining during practice about the lack of good fish and too much local pressure. They all seem to be doing well now!

fishing user avatarIDUTBass reply :

4 of mine in the top 12 as of last night. Hopefully it stays that way. Mark Davis hurt me. Combs, montgomery, horton, and hite

I know right. This must be where football coaches learn to sandbag

fishing user avatarMontanaro reply :

Way to go idutbass

All my guys earned top 50. Micah Frazier was a steal at .02 ownership.

fishing user avatarSenko lover reply :

Well, didn't drop that low although I had a lousy tournament. Kevin Hawk and Kelly Jordan didn't do well. Brian Snowden at least made the cut. Brett Hite and Keith Combs saved my butt.

Dropped a little into 95%.

fishing user avatarbuzzed bait reply :

not too bad for me....  brent chapman was a let down though.

1,211 points in all.  i'm now sitting at 5,296 points overall, 696th rank

A. Jason Christie

B. Micah Frazier

C. Brent Chapman

D. Derek Remitz
