My son and I are from Michigan and we are attending the Bassmasters Classic this year in Alabama. We will be there for 5 days. We are hoping to meet with some local bass fisherman. Bass Dad
My 15 yo son and I will be there Fri-Sun I expect. If you'd like to meet up for a meal sometime over the weekend I'd be game. We're not local, actually from TX. Usually fish Fork, Texoma, Ray Roberts, and other shallow, cover filled lakes. Would love to talk bassin with someone who probably does it a lot different than we do. How old is you kid?
You guys are hard core!
My son is 21. My partner in NBAA That would be great. to meet. We went the Classic in Shreveport last year. We flew into Dallas and drove to Shreveport.
Glenn, Keri, and I will be there on Tuesday and stay till the end. We ususally try to meet up with our members one night. Usually Friday or Saturday night. If Glenn hasn't already sceduled something we may try to do it again. We'll discuss it and let you know soon.
We would love to see you and your family again bighead.
Great, we'll meet up then! It will be nice to meet new folks as well as see the BR crew again. Gene, can't wait to catch up with you! I love to have Chad around other tourny anglers, it really feeds his passion and gets him fired up ;-). See everybody soon. Bert
My dad and I will be driving in friday from Ohio, hope to meet some of you.
Caleb
I live in Birmingham and will be there on Saturday for weigh-in. I'd like to be there more but I will be fishing myself that Thursday, Friday, Saturday morning and again on Sunday on Bankhead Lake just west of B'ham. I will be fishing with one of the members of my site and meeting several others at the classic I hope.
Anybody know of any exceptionally good BBQ joints near the center? Let's find a place and meet there Saturday for dinner!
I have some contacts in Birmingham I'll see what I can find out. I am looking forward to meeting everyone.
i will be there, at the college fishing booth most the time.
We will be eating sunday at Dreamland BBQ over next to UAB.Killer ribs
Ok, so that's one suggestion to keep in mind. Can anyone recommend a place for us to meet Saturday? It doesn't have to be BBQ.
Me and a buddy will be there Saturday and Sunday......Saturday evening would be great, name the place and we'll be there.
Hey everyone - I live in Birmingham - when is the Clasic exactly? There are a ton of BBQ joints to choose from. My personal favorite is Green Top BBQ, it is in Jasper, AL though (about 40 minutes from birmingham). Dreamland down near UAB is good too. One of my favorite restaurants is "Pita Stop Cafe" - greek/lebanese - its really good and reasonable - otherwise Birmingham has a number of pretty descent chain type stuff including cheescake factor and PF changs. If you all will be in tuscaloosa though, they have some of the best diners with great southern cuisine
Anyway, maybe I will go to the classic - I have never been to something like that - probably alot of things to do there? Have fun everyone - any questions for me, let me know.
It's next weekend at the convention center/arena. Any good places near there? Walking distance, or a short car ride would be ideal.
hmm, I think you are talking about the BJCC arena....it is downtown - my favorites in that area are dreamland if you want BBQ. There is also a Jim-n-nick's BBQ in 5-points (both short car ride). ALso as I said I like Pita stop cafe (also a fairly shor 4-5 min drive). Other than that, I dont eat very much in downtown, so some others may have more rec's - good luck!
I Hope to meet with you guys too. I was just wondering if you guys had picked a location yet? and if so could post it asap so that I can make plans to be there.
Big E Bass, is a place called Fife's Still downtown? I live in Bham for 7 years and loved that place!
I will be in Bham Friday-Sunday. Hope to catch up with you guys as well!
Do they still have Milos over there? Those burgers were awesome back when I lived there and their tea was great.

I have not been there - I have lived here for 2 years and have not been to all restaurants by any means - but I googled it and got their address/number:
2321 4th Avenue North
Birmingham, AL 35203-3803

I love B-ham!!

Oh yea, they still have a number of milos locations - one quite close to my house - I actually personally hate their burgers for some reason and the tea is too sweet (that is kinda impossible for most folks in alabama)
