Lake Fork Questions 2024

Hey All,
I have a few questions for the Texans. I am going to try to meet my dad at Fork for a day or two in January or Feb. I will be flying in from Phoenix (home) for one or two days. I have never been on Fork. I will only be carrying two rods and a small tackle selection for such a short trip. I understand that it will be jig and spoon season. We will be in my dads boat (50 HP) so running all over will not be an option. I have a map and would like some general info for put in areas. The just starting to originate plan is to key in on one or two feeder creeks for the day. So if you had two rods and a small box of tricks what would it be. Thanks in advance. I know this is going to be a slow refining process.

c'mon Avid, ribbing between friends doesn't warrant apologies. Might get you a frog in your boot one morning at fork but shoot man,...you know me better than that, I dish enough out where I better be able to take a couple coming back at me,lol.

avid, don't even worry about it. It wasn't hurtful to me in the least. All in good fun, but like LBH said, watch out for that frog in your boot. ;D

What is the usual water condition like? Clear, murky, muddy, etc...

I was in Knoxville this weekend to see my TN Vols beat the AL Crimson Tide.....
Right around the block from our motel was a brand spankin new Gander Mountain store....
Soooo, This morning the Bait Monkey and I had to make a celebratory visit to check it out....
I found these "Lake Fork" baits there and of course had to buy some (I got a package of the "Magic Shad")
Since this isn't a tournament I thought I'd share this valuable info with everyone....any of the folks with Lake Fork experience use these? Maybe these will be the ticket so we all can catch a sharelunker or two ;D.....link below:

I have used plenty of Lake Fork tackle products. I couldn't help but try it because one of my fishing partners (RANGERMAN) owns every item, in every color they make. It is some great tackle. It's not Lake Fork spacific but it does catch fish. My favorate is the Creature on a C-Rig or T-Rig in Stained water.

Lake Fork tackle is not just Fork specific. Lots of pros use those baits on tour.
K Jordan uses alot of those baits for grass and you can see his results most weekends.
On a fun note for the weekend, guess who was on Fork this weekend after his Shootout?
I ran across Ike doing some filming on Fork. No big deal, no big boat following, we had our own agenda.
I bet there are a bunch of shoot out pros their this week after a bunch of them helped with the college world series on Lewisville this weekend.
Imagine stepping on the stage and having jeff Kriet, Kelly Jordan, Luke Clausen and others to weigh your fish.
Cudos to the pros volunteering and giving back to possible future pros.
Just an average weekend on Texas Bass Waters.
