hey guys,
So I'm down in fort lauderdale on vacation, and i went to the local bass pro shops and met roland martin!! it was awesome!
have you guys ever met anyone at a bass pro shops?
kICK HIM IN THE NUTS FOR ME LOL
I met marty stone on my home lake (Gaston NC) several years ago. We approached a no wake zone going under a bridge at the same time. I saw the wrapped boat and figured it was some kind of pro. As we got closer together he actually said hey and asked us if we caught anything. we exited the bridge and pulled off and talked for 30a mins or so. He was very down to earth and even told us a pattern that he was on. I thought maybe he was just giving us some b.s. pro talk. ....nope...what he told us was different than what we were doing and was VERY Productive. I mean he was very indepth and told us why he approached it a certain way..couldnt believe a pro would be so nice. Ive been a fan of his every since.
Answer to the op, never met any pro at BPS. I guess i dont go at the right times.
I met Jimmy Houston at a local Tracker dealer some years back....Said hello and shook my hand...Thing I remember is that he's about 5' tall.

Musta been wearing his elevator shoes.
I wish I could meet Roland Martin. I would ask for a refund on my helicopter lure.
Seen several of them at the Basspro Spring Classic. Ish Monroe, Edwin Evers and Ott Defoe. Didn't talk to them, but listened to their seminars. Mike McClelland lives in the same town I do, I've seen him a couple of times on the local lakes.
Saw Roland Martin about 20 years ago, I was on a biz trip to Charlotte NC, was staying over the weekend, so ended up going on a guided striper trip to Santee-Cooper, met the guide early in the AM at a local restaraunt and Roland was in there eating. Had several people hovering around his table, so I didn't bother him.

I have had the luxury of meeting many pros over the last few years and Greg hackney and Guido hibbon were extremely nice people. Also Forrest and Nina wood are some of the best people you will ever meet!
Not met any that I know of at my local BPS.
But that's pretty awesome "SON!"
A few will be in the Broken Arrow BPS for the spring classic. I am sure it helps the Bassmaster Classic will be in town when the sale starts! If anyone gets a chance, when they have an elite tournament or FLW event, go to the day they have the meet and greet. When the had the Sooner Run tournament back in 2006 on Grand Lake I took my son. He was 6 at the time. All the pros were more than willing for pictures and autographs. Scott Rook actually picked my son up and put him in his boat! Everyone was a class act!
I met Timmy Horton this summer. I was putting the boat in by myself and he told me to just release my boat without tying it up and he would give me a lift. He was already in waiting on his camera man to load up gear. I did and he gave me a lift to my boat. Very nice guy.
I met Roland at gander mountain 2 years ago.
Bill Dance and Preston Clark so far
I've met Boyd Duckett and KVD at my old local tackle shop. Never seen one at a Bass Pro.
I hate people who start a conversation by saying ...Do you know who I am??
Anyway, I will be going to the FLW Expo and weigh in at the Big O tourn on Feb 9-10 and attend the Chevy Pro night and have dinner with all the Chevy sponsored pro's. That ought to be something!
Mike
cool! i also got a hat and picture signed by him
I met my wife at their cafe the last time we were there. She's not fond of following me around the tackle isles. Does that count?
oe
I met jimmy Houston and Larry Nixon last year along with about 20 other anglers I wasn't that familiar with at the Flw show.. Pretty neat I went last year for the first time..gonna start going every year now.
Never met one myself, but my Dad met KVD at Grandpa Pigeons way back in the day. I think it was when KVD was just getting started as a pro.
AJAY -Sorry but I guess you dont know the relatioship between Roland and I-
Roland and I have been best buds for over 16 years. When we get together its usually total mayheim . I have been on his TV Show and it was one of the highest rated shows in 27 years. They had to cut half of it out because of us laughing our a$$es off. When i go down there I stay at Rolands house or with Walt Reynolds. Walt is the President of Roland Martin Productions and is one of my best friends. Their wives are loved by me and my son.. They treat us like family. They even send a 50.00 gift card to my son to toys are us every Christmas. When we get together at shows and expos -we dont talk business - We just laugh our butts off.
Roland -Judy- Walt and MaryAnn are some of the kindest- nicest-most wonderful people one can ever have as friends..
If they are stuck on a bridge at 3 AM I would come get them-as for walt -I would throw him off the brdge when i got there for waking me up at 3 am..
As for the people that talk negativly about Roland -Believe me they just dont know Roland. The best-
I am soooooo sorry you had to meet him, I actually had a nice talk with Jimmy houstin at BPS Ft myers today and Joey Nadia, in fact I showed him a few things that have been hot for fishing Toho.
Saw Roland on the Jarret Ewards fishing show the other day, Jarret got him to state his age. Roland is 72! He's doing real well for a gent his age. I hope I'm going like that when I hit 72. Roland says he'll still be fishing some FLW's this year.
met roland martin at BPS in Hanover MD last year

I hear Megastrike has soothing properties for such pain...
Not Roland Martin, but if any Floridians are interested Mark Sosin will be speaking "Techniques & Tactics that make a Successful Fisherman", at the Boynton Beach Fishing Club, Feb 26 at 7:30, admission is free.
Mark Sosin is an interesting character, and has a lot of knowledge. It would be worth it, just for diversity of info, but I doubt he'd have much input relevant to bass fishing. Who knows, though?
I met KVD in a Red Lobster of all places. I have met Jimmy Houston and Tommy Biffle tons of times. I have seen them at fish and tackle shows, boat shows and even on the lake.
The President of Roland Martin productions called me last night asking if i was going to the Classic. He said Roland Bill and Jimmy are going to be there and Roland will make guest appearances in my booth signing autographs and pictures like he has done in the past.I told him I am not going this year. So for you guys going -go meet the "legends" down there.
I have not met Roland yet even though I stayed & ate at his facility. I did get to meet A-Jay this last spring though!

When you say at the classic, does this mean at the Expo as well?
