I'm so sick of winter that I'm ready for a drive by casting!!!!
So sick of winter that I'm just buying tackle due to my lack of actually fishing. I'm casting in the backyard, reorganizing my gear and reading about fishing non stop. I keep telling my self that I'll be fishing by mid-march by some miracle, but today it's 15 degrees and no sign of warming.
I'm pretty annoyed yes by Winter of course, but I'm looking at it in a more positive way. It is a necessity for our waters. I just read a report regarding how the water this year will be higher than the average norm the last few years thanks to all the snow. Since 1996 I believe it stated, this will be the first year alot of the great lakes will keep more water. The ice cover is preventing evaporation during the winter months. So lakes like Huron (Georgian Bay Ontario, Canada) will see a severely needed water level rise. This also helps the fishery I read, but I can't remember the specifics. Also any land locked isle wildlife can now walk back and forth the ice, the advantage is to diversify the gene pool. Since 1996 a lot of the wolves for example who were land locked may now have a better pool. So that is how I'm looking at it.
I can't tell you how many times I've practiced my pitching into a shoebox from the top step leading down into the den. I've re-organized my tackle systems countless times, and checked and re-checked my gear. Ha!
I'm pretty over this weather. However, hope is in sight. Looking at some 10-day forecasts see Indiana here climbing more consistently into the 40's and even 50's.
Guys....the climb is slow, but the view from the top is great!
Hang in there bass brothers!!!
I'm sick of winter and I'm here in Jacksonville FL. Lol it still gets cold here but not compared to bac home in NJ!!! I feel your guys pain still lol
I dont even own a boat and im thinking about ways to customize it. Rigid industry lights, power poles, low rance units, ecu booster, and more. I also picked up jig tying and extensive reel cleaning and assembly.
Man, I just can´t let this one get away ....... how sick of Winter am I ?
32°C = 90 °F
I'll be a lot less sick of it in just over 2 weeks.

Very, very sick of winter ... spent more money on fishing than I care to imagine but some high hopes for this year ... a few new setups to try out and a new Ride 115x on it's way for when the ice does decide to disappear.

I can't feel pain....I'm too numb from the cold
How sick am I of winter?, -24 night before last. -18 last night, blew 4 more in. of snow this morning ( for the third time this week ) So sick that I'm leaving tomorrow for 2 weeks on Guntersville. It may be cool down there but the water is soft and I'm going fishing or, my wife tells me I am DEAD MEAT.
Very tired of it. Its annoying. I'll be probably starting fishing next week since it's starting to get warmer. Today was 27 degrees in my area but feels like 35 with sunshine.
I am so fed up with it, I walked outside, raised my voice and waved a stick menacingly at the neighbors dog.
I wish that it would cool off some down here. Ha Ha Ha
I have had some serious thoughts about moving south. I mean really serious thoughts.
It looks as if our winter has just started! 54 days with on rain, snow, ect. has got us worried. Rain for the last 5 days!!!!! Another 25 might just help!
This winter has been brutal, definitely the coldest winter in my lifetime in MN, I just hope we dont end up with a big winter kill on some of the shallow fertile prairie lakes. I wont take too many more of these winters, might have to be a snowbird...
Mitch
I tell ya, it was so cold here yesterday, I actually saw a young guy with his pants pulled all the way up.
Hootie
I think I'm sick. I am actually getting use to the snow.
March 5th and snowing again in Chicago
Oh man, how much I´m suffering down here, once again I have to mow the lawn weekly instead of every two weeks ........
Today marks the 45th day in our winter with measurable snow fall in Chicago. It's been 129 years, since that has happened. I am more than done with winter...

I've already heard of one smaller shallow lake around my area that has experienced winter kill. Winter can eat a you know what at this point in time.

Oh that is not good news. I fish around the Park Rapids area and frequent some shallower lakes in the ole Kayak.

My home lake in WI is average 3.5-4 feet. Deepest is only 8 feet in a couple spots. I am willing to bet there will be a winter kill, it's just a question of how bad.
Mark I'd say it's happening hopefully it doesn't hit to hard. Just read about another MN lake having winter kill. Seen a picture from last night were the fisherman drilled a hole as big as a spearing hole and the crappies were swimming up to the surface for air.. Never good.
That's a bummer man. Hoping for the best for everyone. Some lakes will be crushed and others will be fine. Nothing we can do but let nature take its course.

All last week I was scouting for jobs and places to live in Florida.
Winter here in Vermont and in Maine have been real harsh. There was over 4 feet of snow in the woods in Maine as of last week. Snow on the lakes was deeper then my knees. It has been brutally cold all winter long. Tomorrow morning is supposed to be -20. I think maybe by july there will be open water.
I am so over this winter..... Geez.... After pitchin &
Flippin with tungston .... I am now throwing squarebills indoors with the hooks on.....
So sick of cold & Snow!!!
I can't wait would be an understatement ice fishing up here just hast had the appeal for me as in past winters. I finally decided with 3 other buddies that we couldn't wait any longer. We are leaving on the 16 th and driving down to lake Marion for 4 days then trekking back north. I can't wait I have never fished down there before should be interesting.
This about covers it ~

fipping and pitching jig heads to catch socks...testing lures in my bathtub and the school fish-tank, blowing all my money, dreaming about fishing....I don't know what you all are talking about. Thanks to denial, the weather is perfect. I'm just doing these things because the voices of KVD, Iaconelli, and Mark Zona in my head are telling me to. o.O
I read your topic and threw up.
Is that sick enough????????????????
Very Very sick of it
delaying my fishing time
causing me to go broke, I work outside
watching these stupid weather reporters standing out in the freezing cold, snow, sleet and freezing rain to show us what it is doing outside.
I don't about you guys but I have windows in my house.
However I see the light at end of tunnel, day light saving starts Saturday/Sunday it at least look like spring
living in NW Ohio we broke the record for most snowfall in a single winter 81". And yet we are due to another 2-4 fall tomorrow. The weather man is saying if we get our temps into the mid 20s by the first day of spring we will have something to celebrate. Today it is going to be 15 with a low of -4. This winter will never end for us up here. I am pulling my hair out since all my hobbies are summer hobbies (fishing, golfing, and paintball).
So sick of winter that my room is clean. All my gear is completely organized (which for me is incredible). There are green streaks from braid in the snow from me casting frogs in the yard...At this rate I'm confident i will not be able to fish my first tournament of the year on 4/26.
I need another trip to Florida...

HHH?
I'm have been fishing through the ice here in the Philadelphia area so that has kept me busy. I'm sure my wife will be glad to get all of my tackle out of the living room but I have to say this should be my most organized year ever! Until I start fishing that is.
How Sick Of Winter Are You?
I live up in northern Canada so you can imagine we get a good dose of winter. This year my friends have noted that I'm becoming increasingly hostile and ranting every time it snows or it's crazy cold...and they've been noting a lot this winter. I think they're about to hold an intervention with a plane ticket to El Salto.

In two weeks we are headed to lake baccarac Mexico. Four of the guys are El Salto veterans trying lake baccarac as a comparison to there mutile trips to El Salto. Stay tuned for their comparison. You might reconsider your destination .

Lmao thats good right there ajay!
Very, very sick. Not too much snow, comparatively, but cold. No warm stretches at all. The ice has to be incredibly thick right now. Yet some winters, it's clearing by now. I fear I won't get the boat launched until after April 10 or so. Just saying it makes me feel sick to my stomach.
I'm so sick of winter that I went to my local lake and bounced lures off the ice casting. . . . . . . . . just for fun! 45 degrees is a heat wave right now! Couldn't resist myself.

I would fish in Hell right now and not complain :-)
Just went to the lake for the first time since November. 10" of ice still.. looks like mid April if I am lucky
They say winter makes one appreciate summer. I say winter only makes me dislike winter that much more.

You can't fish in hell, when hell is this winter!
Im to the point I am starting to get angry because of it.
