I was just wondering what the first artificial bait you ever caught a fish one was
Me it was a 1/8 oz green and black back white belly jitterbug
Renegade 4" curly tail worm in Motor Oil color weightless with a 5/0 Eagle Claw hook, LOL!!!!
rattlin rap in bluegill
So long ago i have no clue....im sure it was some kind of plastic worm with a spincast set up
Can't remember for sure but I'm pretty sure that it was either a Teeny Torpedo or a Beetle Spin.
mine of course was the watermelon 4" senko texas rigged.
zara spook. this was during my migration from the salt to the freshwater.
I remember it distinctly even after 35 years. I was 8 yrs old and my uncle Bill Fletcher and I were fishing Lake Norfork at night. He had rigged me with a 7" grape Jelly Worm. I pulled in a 3 pounder! He even bought me a little stick-on patch from Panther Bay marina the next day. The kind where you write on it the size of the fish. I wore that patch proudly!
First fish was probably on a roostertail, first bass was on a rebel teeny wee craw crankbait.
Mann's plastic worm, circa 1972/3 or Rebel broke back minnow. At that time I could afford a 5 pack of worms (2.00) and a Rebel (2.50). If you broke off with the rebel you went to get it. Fishing for bass with live bait (shiners) was a lot cheaper.
7" berkley power worm, black grape.
Not sure, but my best guess would be a red and white Daredevle.
First fish on artificial, would be a 16" northern with a red and white daredevil when I was 8.
First bass on artificial was with a 1/8oz chartreuse and white spinner
My first artificial bait fish was a Spanish Mackeral on Luhr Jensen's Gold Spoon 1/2 oz.
Good times 8-)
I was about 10 or 11 on a vacation with my family at Lake Norfork. It was maybe 3/4 lb. bass on my first baitcaster and a red and white Daredevil. Never thought I'd hear the same thing from other folks ...

A spoon. I was probably about six and had now idea what I was doing. Caught it in my dads tank reeling it in a steady retrieve on a Zebco 33, LMAO. Funny thing is that was a good pattern for that tank. No telling how many I caught that way before I "knew better".
Mine was on a 6 inch culrit ribbon tale worm in shad pattern. 1 lb spot fishing from the dock at cave run lake. I was 11 or 12 years old.
Well like most young kids, I probably caught my first fish on a night crawler.
However, I believe I caught my first one on an artificial with a Rooster Tail. Still use Rooster Tails very often.
A 12 year old boy found a Crème Scoundrel "Catalpa/Catawba" (black with 2 yellow stripes) between the wooden floor slats of a handmade rental boat.
Mine was a Devils horse. I was not supposed to be throwing it. I was so young and they have 3 sets or trebles. I think I was about 5. I was so nervous I forgot to reel it in, I just walked backwards until it was on the bank. ;D
A big yellow Devil's Horse.
#1 Mepps Spinner w/ Maribou Tail - Brooke Trout
Big black live slug - Bass
I'm sure I caught one on bait earlier, but the my first lure that snagged a bass was a Rapala Original Floater.
Heddon's Lucky 13 (wood); 1959. 2 lb. largemouth. Been "hooked" ever since. Still have that lure.
I can't remember what I did an hour ago. :-[
Don't remember exactly but odds are great that it was a roostertail.
this was my first bass a couple of years a go or so, on a spinnerbait.
Mepps Black Fury
I cought a bluegill
Woot ^^
Purple and white pre-rigged bass stopper worm with 1/8 split shot about 8" up the line
When I was a kid we were out to catch any fish that swam, so probably a nightcrawler.
An F-6 Helin Flatfish, frog pattern. I still have the lure. Mr. Helin gave it to me.
Falcon
Skipjack Bluefish- Al's goldfish $0.29
I think it was a pearl sassy shad on a jig head I found tangled in a half submerged tree on Lake Hartwell.
The "it" lure when i was a kid.

The "rich" kids used the swedish pimple or kastmaster ;D
Motor oil/ red flake renegade worm

1" white Mister Twister. Caught several dozen bluegill, crappie and the occassional bass.
Grass pike on a creme worm. Scared the heck out of me. Never saw a fish with teeth before. And long and skinny like a snake.
Mine was a Storm swim shad. Not only does it catches stripers but it also catches bass. And it's cheap!!!
To my best recollection, my first bass was caught around 1949 on a surface lure with fore-and-aft spinners.
My best guess would be a "Creek Chub Injured Minnow". During that era, both wooden and plastic lures were available.
Mine was clearly plastic, and a sloppy cast into the boat's oar caused it to split cleanly in halves >
