The 15 month tour to Iraq is OVER!!!  Seeing my kids and wife, being on leave, and not being in friggin Iraq rocks.  Thank you all for supporting me while I was over there. I'm not sure where other deployed members of the forum are in their deployments, but lets stick with them.  THanks y'all

fishing user avatarLow_Budget_Hooker reply :

Now THAT'S some good news!!

Welcome home man!!

Merry Christmas :)

fishing user avatarBrian_Reeves reply :

LBH, not sure if you got the pm or not but I sent that thing we talked about.  Muddy, I wore the t-shirt to a Christmas party last night.  I love it man, thanks a million.  Fourbiz, can't fish right now.  I have several bulged disks. I went out on the boat and I thought I was going to die.  Looks like fish in centex are safe for a bit longer.  I get my painkillers tomorrow though :D

To everyone else, thanks a million for everything.  I'm going to try to come up with some things to further contribute to the site and once I get my jig pouring under way, I'm going to send out some free prizes for testing.  Muddy, you're first in the line up for that when I get my equipment.  I want to see if I can change your mind about skirted jigs :P  Thanks everyone

fishing user avatarRed reply :

welcome back and thanks!  is there somewhere that i can see some of your jigs?  hope for a speedy recovery for you and hope you can get back after 'em soon. :)

fishing user avatarflippincrazy reply :

Thanks for your service!

fishing user avatarBrian_Reeves reply :

I don't have any real jigs that I've made start to finish.  I've modified the junk that I bought.  I have yet to have found a jig that I'm 100% satisfied with.  Therefore, I'm going to start pouring, painting, and tying my own...and to top it off, I'm going to pour my own trailers.  When I get everything, I'll make a few and post pics.  Owner or Gammie hooks, clear fiberguards, and skirts that are done right from start to finish.  Hopefully this isn't just an insane idea, but I'm going to give out quite a bit of them to see how they hold up throughout the US.

Anyway, happy holidays all.  Thanks again for everything

fishing user avatarluckyinkentucky reply :

Welcome home.

My little brother is over their right now at FOB Kalsu.  He is with the 3rd ID.  He's going to miss Christmas home this year, so keep him in your thoughts.

I spent a total of 2 years over there between 20 March, 2003 to 15 August, 2005 with the 1st Force Reconnaissance Company.  Only those of us that have been over there have a right to fuss about it in my opinion.   ;D

Good to see you home.

fishing user avatarKU_Bassmaster. reply :

I am not a very emotional person, but when you hear of soldiers coming home it gets to me. It makes me all warm and fuzzy on the inside with joy and pride.

And the same way when I hear of soldiers leaving, but more of a worrisome/proud feeling. I have two pretty close friends over there right now. I am so proud of them. I think/worry about them everyday. I cant even imagine what their families must go through.

Cant say thank you enough man!!!!!!!

And may your line never be limp once you heal up!!! (and I mean that in a fishing way ;))

fishing user avatarCatt reply :

Alright alright alright no more freaking sand huh? Don't worry about the bass Matt Fly & I will round them up for you; you just relax & soak it all up for now.

Welcome Home Y'all  ;)

fishing user avatarSPEEDBEAD. reply :

Welcome home and have a very Merry Christmas.

I have a friend leaving w/ the PA National Guard Strykers sometime next year.  Seeing people come home gives me hope that he will do the same.

AT,

Welcome home!!!   I got back home in July from my 3rd deployment.  Then pcs'ed to FLW, Mo. They are making me be an instructor. Take it slow, spend time with family.  I have only been  fishing a couple of times since returning home.  I am getting ready for the new year. I have patience and anger issues now, I take one day at a time.  My wife has has been helpful, she does not push me to talk when I do not want to.  I hope your back gets better soon.  Know go and enjoy your block leave.

fishing user avatarCory N reply :

Welcome back and thank you.

Can't wait to see some of those jigs.

fishing user avatarjeremyt reply :

Welcome home AT, I know you are very happy to be home, I was there for the initial invasion in 03  and from Aug of 05 to Mar of 06, most of my time was in Fallujah. Enjoy the homecoming, it is well deserved. Glad to hear all is well, Merry Christmas and while I know you are in the army, Semper Fi

fishing user avatarBrian_Reeves reply :

Good news is, no back surgery.  THey thought I had compressed or bulged disks, but I don't.  They don't know what is wrong with my back, but at least I don't have to have surgery.

But I did learn a new little trick about myself.  When talking to the neurologist, she told me to stand straight up, hold my hands level to the floor, then touch my nose with my finger while closing my eyes shut.  Come to find out, I can't do that with my left hand.  Yip Yip.

Now I get to go through a brain scan and a CAT scan.  Mild Traumatic Brain Injury or mTBI.  I'm not all that worried about it, but I'm pretty sure I've got mTBI.  Stupid IEDs.

One day at a time, one appointment at a time.  I get out in july and then I'm getting my dream job.  Game Warden in LA!!  Nothing like a Game Warden with Brain Damage lol

fishing user avatarrondef reply :
