I used to just use plain old Bill Lewis trap's and either replace the hook's on them or spend all day sharpening them. But lately Ive gotten where the only ones I consider buying are the Rattling Rapala's. The hook's come insanely sharp already, they hook everything, fish or no fish....I also buy Strike King's Diamond Shad every now and then. What about you guy's? What brand's do you like?
Oh and while we are on the subject of Rattletrap's, how come its so hard to find ones with some purple on it!
I''m partial to Cordell Spots...............
Diamond Shad
The X-Calibur XR-50 and Lucky Craft LVR's are my favorite.
Duel Hardcore Drum
Duel 3dVIB
LC LV-max
LC LV-0
Cultiva Mira VIB
I've fished a TON of different vibes - from mass produced to expensive and rare Japanese versions - - I think I was on a mission to fish nearly every one in existence at one time... ;D
Surprisingly enough, my favorite ALL AROUND vibe is the BPS Rattlin' Shad. There are situations where I prefer others, but these are very good designs - and cheap!
My favorite dirty water vibe is a Shimano Complex Undulator (widest kicking vibe ever)
For shallow water or finesse situations is a Sound-Less Air Viper Risebacker (very slow fall, no rattle)
For hopping or using in bottom contact situations: Spro Aruku Shad (and Jr.), Jackall TN70, Mamiya OP Hunting Vib Jr.
The Cordell Spot is also right up there with my favorite "all around" vibes......but the BPS is a bit more lively.
I've had most success with Rattlin Rapala's. Red crawdad and silver/blue are my best colors. I've caught some on Rat-L-Traps, but the vast majority have come on Rapala's.
Falcon
The Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap, preferrably 1/2 ounce in either blue/chrome or black/chrome.
Yo-Zuri Ratl'N Vibe
LC LVR-500-Max
In very skinny water, a Lucky Craft LV-0
For small baits, a Lucky Craft LVR Mini, Aruku Shad Jr. or a 1/4 oz. Spot
For larger baits, LC LVRD7, 1/2 oz. Spot, Aruku Shad and LV500
A couple of specialty baits, Lucky Craft LV200 with large brass knocker and the LV300N - No rattle at all.
Brad
I haven't met a lipless crank yet that I didn't like!
Don't forget to try the smaller sizes!
Rattlin' Rapalas. I HATE the rat'l trap hooks.
Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps Gold Black Back & Orange Belly, Red Chrome, or the new Cherry Bomb
NEW..This year, the Rat-L-Trap will be offered with several upgrades that only make America's Bait better.
Set-Lok Hooks have been custom designed by the experts at Bill Lewis Lures. These guys have fished every hook known to man on a Trap in the past 25 years. Set-Lok hooks are made by Eagle Claw exclusively for the Rat-L-Trap. They feature Lazer Sharp points for a sticky catch and entry, and follow up with a beefy wide-gap to ensure a strong hold all the way in.
Dura-Shell finishing coats ensure a long lasting paint job on all upgraded Rat-L-Traps. Even chrome lures will not chip or flake paint after going through the New Dura-Shell baking process.
Oval-Shaped Split Rings have been added for the line-tie to provide even more action on the retrieve. Also, you won't have to worry about your line slipping into the split ring groove and fraying your line with the Oval-Shape design.

Eagle Claw....no thank's. And I'll believe a chrome that doesn't chip off when I see it....well maybe not even then
Rapala and Bill Lewis for me(mostly Rapala though). All my Lewis hooks are replaced with VMC short shank, cone cut round bends.
I am sad to admit that I have never ever caught any fish on a Bill Lewis Rattle Trap. However, it is a completely different story with a Rattlin' Rapala. As a matter of fact, all the fish I ever caught with a rattle trap type bait have come from the Rattlin' Rapala. I have also tried the berkely frenzy one and a kinami, but they have, like the Lewis ones been zeros. This doesn't mean that I think they suck. Quite the contrary. It is just a matter of time before they will work for me.
diamond shad and original rattletrap
i don't have one.
I use a lot the Hardcore Drums, Rat-L-Traps ( agree hooks are horrible ) and LC LV series.
i dont own a trap of any kind ;D but it is on my list of things to buy soon!

I like the Rattlin' Rapalas and have a few of the Rat-L-Traps.
Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap
Yo-Zuri Rattl N' Vibe
Spro Aruku Shad
Rattling Rapala's! Rapala just make awsome lures. It doesn't matter if its a skitter pop, the original floater, shad raps. There all awsome.
no doubt it's the Strike King Red Eye Shad
i have many but my favorite is the berkly frenzy. these lures are inexpensive but thay are have great action
For years, I bought the standard issue Bill Lewis trap cause they worked. They still do, but I think by using the Vibe in same areas as traps, you can put more fish into the boat. I even still throw the hot spots with success.
I got schooled on the vibe by a buddy. We swapped it up and i schooled him. I do think on certain lakes that see more pressure than others, they do condition to the noise, so a switch every now and then can't hurt.
The Vibe was a good buy for me, it worked well in the winter months.
