They have an X Calibur Foxy Trio kit for $19.99.
It's a 3/8 oz xt3 suspending twitch bait, an xrk50 tungsten one knocker lipless crank and a 1/4 oz Zell Pop. All are the Foxy Shad color. Not a bad deal for 20 beans. They better get some fish in my boat.....
Sounds well worth it. I may pick one up.
I stopped by our local Dick's after work today, just to do a little browsing; this turned out to be a good idea.
300 yard spools of Sufix Performance braid are on sale. Prices ranged from $9.98-$11.48. I pretty much cleaned them out.
Several Rapalas (DT Fat, Minnow Rap) are between $3.00-$3.50. Rage anacondas, craws, and shads are $1.98.
I'm happy.
At our store, anything in fishing that is clearance (price ends with .97 cents) is an additional 50% off. Check out Rapala, Strike King, line, and some terminal tackle for the good finds.

Yup, same here...anything ending in .97 and .93. 8-)
I went out to my local Dicks today...
Wish they had Rage Craws, but none there. Bought a bunch of Rage Baby Anacondas, chunks, shads, and space monkeys all for 1.98 a pack. Strike King spinnerbait trailer hooks ended up being like .23 cents a pack after the discount, some more tungsten weights for under a buck a pack. I may be forced to go back later today or tomorrow to clean them out of the rest of the stuff...
I went to the Dicks Sporting Goods store today and racked up on xcalibur rattle traps, rage tail plastics, rapala crankbaits, and some stanley finese jigs. I also ended up with 7 packs of yum dingers and 2 packs of GYCB senkos. I have a dining room table full of stuff for about $115.
I should have ran on over to ours today. Got another $10 GC in the mail today.
Darn it. Everything at my dicks are pretty much sold, I can only found some hooks and zooms left for sell.
This thread is from last April.. :-?
QuoteThis thread is from last April.. :-?
Yup...why start a new one?
Hit my local store today. Rapala, Rebel, Xcaliber, and some bomber were 50% off. Most lures I got for around $3. My wallet is now much lighter.
Just cleaned out the VMC sure set treble packs. $0.98 and $0.48 each. Also got Gammy packs of round bend trebles for $2.48. Also got the $10 off $50 purchase. Can anybody say jackpot!
I stopped by ours today and picked up DT's, X-Raps, and Husky Jerks for $2.50 - $3.50 a piece. Packages of Tru-tungsten worm weights from .29 - .89 a package. And some Chatterbaits for $1.25. And a spool of Invisix Floro 4# for $6. Also 2 6'6" MHF St. Croix premeire rods for $39 each!
I got 2 Revo S/All Star combos for $49.97 each. Two more left in the store... must be good... resist the urges...
holy crap at the revo s. gonna have to go back to my local store and check that one out. i got a minn kota 40lb foot control trolling motor for $104!!!!
Wow, that revo/all star deal is sick...
I posted this in another thread but yesterday I picked up some LC pointers at Dicks for $5.48. Also they had SK red eye shads for $1.98.
Some really good deals to be had...
QuoteI got 2 Revo S/All Star combos for $49.97 each. Two more left in the store... must be good... resist the urges...
I got three of them, one for myself and one for each of my two sons.
Could not resist the urges.
I swung by my local DSG to see if there were any of the Revo/Allstar combos left, figuring I could keep the reel and give the rod away, but no such luck. No big surprise, though. Everything was really picked over, with the vast majority of the 50% off stuff already gone. There were still some good deals to be found, but I was really only interested in the super-cheap stuff. ;D
I did manage to pick up a little bit of unnecessary crap, though. Spent a whopping $35 on this stuff...
Not too sure about the Renosky spinnerbaits, but they were $2 and they come with an extra skirt. To me, they're worth the price just for the blades and skirts.
I visited 2 of our local Dick's last night.
I bought:
1 St. Croix Casting Rod $22.50 Regularly marked 109.99
1 St. Croix Spinning Rod $22.50 Regularly marked 209.99
1 Field and Stream Casting Rod $9.99 Regularly marked 59.99
1 Quantum Catalyst Bait-caster $24.94
1 Rapala Thug $1.97
I'm going back tonight for a Daiwa bait-caster (lefty) Forgot the model. $24.94
Deals are outrageous!
Just got back from Dick's got that Suffix Braid and found a nice panfish St Croix Premier rod that rang-up $23.48!!!
Boy, I wish my Dicks had those St. Croix rods marked down that cheap....
Diawa Fuego $50!
If only I had a dick...I mean dicks.:'(
Went back tonight and picked up:
1 Abu Garcia Revo S/Allstar Combo 7' Med Heavy $49.98
1 300 Yd 50 lb test Stren Sonic Braid $9.98
1 Berkley Powerbait 5" Power Shaky Worm $1.48
1 Rapala 8" alumapro Pliers $12.48
1 300 Yd 20 lb test P-Line Flourocarbon line $10.98 (Regular Price)
For some reason the monkey's bite doesn't seem so painful the last couple of days.
Call me a masochist but it felt kinda nice.
I'm still blown away by that Revo/All Star Combo. I guess it's good that I don't have a Dick's close by - I probably would have got a bunch of combos (that I don't need) at that price.
QuoteI got 2 Revo S/All Star combos for $49.97 each. Two more left in the store... must be good... resist the urges...
Hahahaha I still laugh when I see your "PB wife". Hahahahahaa
Yesterday when I went the salesman said the one St Croix I bought was the last one they had. I had a hunch this morning and went back to check and sure enought they had some more but they WERENT TAGGED. I had the cashier scan the price of a St Croix Premier 6'6" MH Fast ---yep $23.48, I bought it
So a heads-up even if its not tagged with the .97 or .93 have it checked might get lucky.
How about posting a location on some of these good deals. I called my closest Dick's and ask about the sales, however that is not the same as going into the store and asking them to scan it for you.
Would like to be sure, before I make a 120 mi. round trip to see.
store locator NC

here looks like the Premier line is on clearance this line is all Ive seen that was reduced and the line I bought.

I guess call them be VERY polite tell them you are 60miles away and if they would kindly scan a St Croix Premier rod for you. Tell them you are seeing online reports of good deals on these rods and on their website.
Like I mentioned the salesman didnt even know he had more on sale but that is not hard to imagine.
newbie to the forums , stinkus and I went to dicks saturday , great deals for sure. He snatched the last lucky craft crank for 5 bucks. we picked up a good amount of sk spinner baits , rage baits , rapala cranks and line. the only problem was we already went to cabelas firsrt and blew my big wad there. did the buying spree backwards for sure. :'(
I went to one of the Peckers in Richmond as I had a $10 coupon and purchased some MegaStrike and a Strike King swimming jig.
They stock was really picked over and I got the last MegaStrike they had so I am a happy camper.
I sent yesterday and they hardly had anything left on sale... No combos, no reels, no poles, no trolling motors... Most of the baits were gone, the baits that were on sale hardly had any markdown... I always miss all the deals >
got a St Croix Premier spinning 6'6 medium fast for 40$ ands a bunch of lures for $1-2. i was there when they were closing so i didn't even get to check more stuff out
I cleaned out the one in Henrietta last week, My credit card is still smoking. They didn't have the rod deals that the other stores are having, but they had great deals on LC pointers, Braided line, All sorts of Rapala cranks, and Rage Tail baits.
The best deals I saw were on the fishfinders, they had $200+ color units marked down to $60, great way to pick up a spare sonar.

Tuck,
Were those Sonars complete with cables too? The Dicks in Vestal NY had a few but only the unit itself. They were clearly display models and were a bit beat up, but I still thought they were pretty good prices. I'm just not sure how easy it is to find all the components.
Made the 60 mi drive to Dick's in Hickory, NC today. Spent about 80 bucks on stuff that was on sale. Should have gone when I first heard about the sale. Everything had been picked over pretty bad by the time I got there. The $349 trolling motor for $109 blew my mind. It was a transome mount though and no good to me.

Funny you ask, they were when I was there last week, but I went back tonight to see if I could pick up a garmin unit for another member on this forum, and all they had left were the floor models, without cables and 'ducers. They said they could give the cut up cables to sort through but it greatly cheapened the deal.
I did pick up all the $2 rage tail chunks and $5 sonic braid that I left behind last week. I have never tried ragetail before because IMO they are overpriced but now that I have 19 packs of chunks and craws that I got for $2 a pop I hope that they live up to the hype they get on this forum

You should grab those display models! I would imagine cables and other pieces are easy enough to order from MinnKota. Most times managers would be willing to get rid of those display units at very low cost just to get them out of the system.
Went to local dick's in Gaithersburg,Maryland over the weekend and got a 55lb. minn kota endura transom mount for 110.00 marked down from 250.00.Can't beat that deal with a stick and can't wait to use it.
QuoteI should have ran on over to ours today. Got another $10 GC in the mail today.
Naturally, and as usual, the Kport Dicks doesn't have anything worth buying. Went in there last week to use a gift card and a rewards certificate. Was planning on buying a rod, they have gotten rid of their premium rods (Loomis, etc.).
Ended up getting $150 worth of salt blocks for $18.
QuoteMost times managers would be willing to get rid of those display units at very low cost just to get them out of the system.
I offered to buy a display treestand a month ago, they wouldn't sell it.

Yeah, that's different. For safety reasons store policy is not to sell display treestands to customers.
employees on the other hand....
I nabbed this
for $70
not to mention two chair blinds for $20 total.

Mine doesn't carry any premium rods either, but after seeing how many customers come in and fold rods in half, I can understand it.

They carried Loomis IMX for about two or three years. Don't know how many they sold. Rod selection last week was the worst it has ever been since the store opened. A couple of Skeets, a few Croix Triumphs and Mojos and the rest junk.

I got more than a little PO'ed by the whole deal. 12' aluminum ladder stand, on clearance for $70. Only display left, they wouldn't budge on policy. Told them I didn't give a crap about liability, I just wanted the stand.
They won't even sell them to employees without a release of liability. I guess they got sued in the past or something.
Yeah Dan noticed that your store did not have any of these premium rods some of these guys have picked up. The sunday before last I hit these up.....
1 pack rage baby crawa
1 pack rage chunks
1 pack rage space monkey
1 rapala x rap
1 rapala shad rap
1 red eye shad lipless crank
1 strike king burner spinnerbait
1 pack of bass magic swimbaits
1 pack gamakatsu weighted swimbait hooks
1 pack gamakatsu oct in line cirlcle hooks for drop shots
32 bucks total cost.... pretty sweet seeing the rage tail stuff is ussually more than half that.
Dan this sale going to go on with any restocking in your place? Can give away some more of my bucks for a good deal. Some of the stuff I got, the red eye shad and one rage tail pack were not even on sale, but was there so went for em.
The 50% off clearance ended on the 24th as far as I saw. Beyond that, all of the new stock that I have scanned so far has been regular price. I think the clearance was just on last year's stock to make room for the new stuff.
just called the 3 nearest locations to me and they all said the sale ended.. that stinks.. i wanted to go get somemore St. Croixs... I read someone got an Avid for 68$
I made out very well the last few weeks with the $10 off for taking the survey. I got many different Rapala and Luckycraft cranks, and a few S.K. spinners. But man I had no idea about the St. Croix rods. Is this somthing that they have done in the past. I am wondering if I should have them check the price next tiem they have a clearnece sale.

I think they do it once a year to clear out old stock and make room for new. The only problem is you just never know what will be marked down 50% and 75%. But that's a risk that I'm willing to take.
I checked mine out today, nothin' doin'. Best thing was a couple spools of 65# Stren braid for $10.
I passed. I wanna try the new Sufix 832.

Right, they still had a clearance rack that I thought would be worth looking at.
I found a pair of aluminum pliers that had been on the 50% off the clearance price until the 24th. Too bad I found them on the 26th...
