I found a pond where they hit top water a lot. I was using a h20 express frog ( it sucks ) and was missing a lot of big bass . I checked the frog out and noticed the hooks were in bad shape and bent downwards, so I'm going to BPS and getting a new frog today ... Any suggestions on frogs or any other baits ??? ( I have 130 dollars so I might buy a lot of bait ) please comment

Flippin the bird is a great frog, I'm not sure they have them at BPS but they do at TW... I know they have KVD sexy frogs and River2Sea Spittin Was ast BPS those are both good frogs...
You can always go with a rage toad as well!

I like the spro's but I love the scum frogs. Be prepared to get a wide range of answers.Good luck.

I have taken to Koppers Livetarget frogs since this past year and caught a good number of bass on it.
Spro gets an honorable mention though.

If you are willing to spend the $$ Livetarget frogs are awesome. If you want to save some $$ and allocate it to other lures, Booyah pond crasher's are good.

I think Booyah Pad Crashers are great frogs and very affordable. They also have a great hook up ratio.

If your hooks are facing down you could always use a pair of pliers and bend them slightly upward to better expose your hooks, it always works for me. I like the mann's super frog in cypress.

Heavy thick weeds, koppers. Lighter weeds with open patches or open water I go with the pad crasher. I've never had more success on a frog than this year with the brown color.

X2, bend the hooks up a little bit. I have H2O frogs and have no problem hooking up but I bend the hooks up slightly so they aren't as tight to the plastic. The Spro Bronzeye frogs have very sharp hooks also.
What rod/reel/line are you using? Sharp hooks want make a bit of difference if you happen to be fishing your frogs on the wrong gear.

I agree.........I have fished a ton of frogs. Spro's, Strike king KVD's, Snag Proof's, and more that I can't remember. The Booyah's and KVD's are what I fish now, and it would probably be Booyah only if they had a translucent color for clear water.

I've had great success with the Booyah Pad Crashers. They're nice and soft with good hooks and offer a great hookup ratio. They're also really easy to walk and offer the best value as far as I'm concerned. I've got a few Spro's, KVD's and Live Target. I think they're all good. The only one I've tried that I really didn't like was the BPS version when they first came out. The bodies were really hard and that caused it to have a horrible hookup ratio. However, I see in the last year or so I see they've softened them up quite a bit so they are probably better in that respect now.

I'm kinda surprised that no on has mentioned the Stanley Ribbit frogs. Although different than the hollow bodies they still produce!

Yea I was surprised that you and only one member mentioned this beast!!!! I have been late to the party on this frog and wish I found it last summer when I was slaying em on th Stanleys. This frog is amazing so versatile. My only problem is that in heavy pads the hooks sometimes get hung up, other than that flawless! Yea man I love these frogs too! Few anglers know about them and they use to only be at a few exclusive shops here in my part of FL. NOW major retailers such as dicks carry them which is convenient because me and my buddies have bought em all put at our only local spot who sold them and they have not restocked.
But be on the lookout for the frog that will change the game! I have seen some exclusive footage of this beast and I can not wait to get my hands on it! I have my preorder in and can't wait til release when it arrives at my door. This season I am no longer stuck on the bank so I am expecting great things and the gopro will constantly be rolling!!

What is the best line set up for top water frogs/poppers? Braid?, Mono?, Braid with a mono leader?

Frogs is braid braid and oh yea, braid. 50-65lb. I use mono for poppers

What he said............Braid. I use 30 or 50 on the "regular" 1/2 oz. size frogs, On at least MH powered rods, but with the little Jr. sized 1/4 oz frogs I throw them on 20lb braid all the time on M power rods.....frogs are not just for heavy cover and slop

And I don't think it does .............to the bass....I know a guy who throws gawdy bright color frogs in any water clarity so HE can see them, and he does just fine. I FEEL BETTER when throwing a translucent one in clear water, and I do just fine.
