Is there one producer of tube baits that is better than others?
Can't say for sure...but my favorite is Venom salt series tubes.
Every tube is different. I'm partial to Cabin Creek, River Rock and Get Bit Baits, personally.
A lot depends on what you're looking for in a tube. Some guys want one with a solid head and thick 'skin' while others prefer using them with internal jigs and like a thin skin. Then there's the salt debate; more, less, or none. How about color options. I only use three colors, but some companies offer as many as 20.
If you're looking for a recommendation, give us an idea of how you plan on fishing a tube and what gear you'll be using.
I use casting gear for a lot of my tube fishing and prefer 4in. and 5in.. tubes. That limits the number of offerings. See where I'm coming from?
I liked Net Bait Salty BK Tubes so naturally they discontinued them

I second Snack Daddy Tubes. Excellent tubes compared to most every other tube I have ever thrown for my waters.

Certainly is, but the definition of what is better will vary from person to person, day to day, and lake to lake (or river). ????????
The real question is what are you looking for in a tube? If we know that, we can pair you with a product that matches your specs.
I use Strike King Denny Brauer Flipping Tubes and Right Bite Baits Flipping Tubes exclusively.
I still like my 4inch zoom green pumpkin tube that I have 5 packs of. However I have been venturing out with some strike king and bulk tube singles At tackle stores I found some 4inch pearl silver Venom tubes from jays in Clare mi. Kinda excited to try those for largemouth and small mouth.

Their other tubes are top notch too. New Hampshire smallmouth love them.
I'm a huge fan of River Rock Custom Baits tubes as well as Right Bite and Dry Creek. The River Rock baits are softer than any other hand dipped tube that I ever fished so those are my absolute favorite. I've been fishing tubes a long time, I thought Cabin Creek made the best tubes but when they changed plastic the tubes got harder and were less effective. Gitzit made a good tube as well but they too changed plastic which made the tubes a littler harder so they didn't draw as many strikes as they once did. So here is the thing, I fish in heavily pressured waters where every angler is throwing tubes so I'm really partial to softer tubes that have more life in the water and the fish hold on a little longer. They also need to be hand dipped and if you don't think that has any affect I can assure you it does. If you watch tubes being worked in clear water you can actually see the difference, injected tubes have uniform wall thickness and so they move in the same way every time you pop the rod. Hand dipped tubes are free formed so the wall thickness has little variations so when you pop the rod it will move one way and then the next time it will move another way. So for me I'm partial to hand dipped tubes
Dry Creek tubes....been using for years....homemade in Idaho.
I'm a bou-tube fan...
oe
Been using Mizmo tubes for 15 year. Very well made. But lots and lots of excellent tubes on the market.

I believe it was your recommendation???? a couple of years ago that turned me on to them. Past two Summer's spent in Minnesota and the smallies love them
I've fished at least a dozen different brands and most are good to really good but one brand stands out for me, Outlaw Baits from Florence Oregon.
My favorite tubes are Bass Pro 4.5" magnum flipping tubes. They'll last through 10+ fish. I've caught more with them all beat up than when they are new.

Believe Dry Creek purchased Outlaw baits....Have known them both for years...good people.

That must be why they don't answer the phone.
Could be.....Brad Perkins is new owner. His son is a big part of business too.....good people. They make some great saltwater bait colors too.
I must not be the tube connoisseur that the rest here are. I use the BPS Teaser tube and Tender tube, nothing exotic. They seem salty to me. I have a bag of Gitzits that have never caught me anything.

Don't feel bad, Gitzits never got me a nibble either. If you want to go cheap off the shelf, the Berkely Havoc tubes do well.

When I use tubes these days, it's strangely enough on a Carolina rig with a little salmon corkie stick inside to make it float. Maybe it's just something the fish don't see often, but it seems to work where a Powerbait worm or lizard doesn't. But a tube will last a long time fished like this on a Shaw Grigsby hook, and I don't break out the Carolina rig all that much, so unless I get on a really hot bite one day, the tubes I have may last into the next decade.

Funny how things can vary from one place to the next. My dad is far from a tube fisherman but when he decides to throw one when the bite gets tough it's always a Gitzit Chub Tube in brown craw salt and pepper and quite a few times he's slayed 'em. I'm a Dry Creek Outfitters fan and have had really good luck with their drop shot and tournament tubes.

Well, if there was only one that was best, everyone would just use that.
Regional differences are fascinating to me, too.

I like it. I mostly flip tubes, Texas rig them, or rig them stupid style. Corkie stick like a bobber or a dog treat? I Googled that and I wasn't sure what I was looking at.

They're a float. I used to fish with a guy who was a huge tube fan. He'd stick Alkaseltzer inside them (that never did anything for me), drop shot them, and other things I don't see many people do. I just put one of these inside, and the tube floats behind the Carolina rig. You can get these things at Walmarts out west, here I have to order or go to Cabelas.

Interesting....What size do you think to float a 2.75 tube?
Some people may not see the damiki hydra as a tube but rather just some sort of creature bait, but in my eyes it is totally a tube. I think the Damiki Hydra is the best tube out there, the way the appendages move is unlike anyother bait. When this bait really shines is when your bed fishing. Most tubes are too long and the bass just picks up the end and drops it off the bed. The Damiki Hydra is shorter and entices them twice as well.
I use these for a 3 1/2" tube. I thought they might have the diameter on the label, bit they don't, sorry. It may be that you want to go down a size, or these may work. They're about 5 or 6 bucks for 25.

Mostly skipping docks in tributaries and marinas off the Ohio River...for slotted bass.
