As u can see in the vid. The thing that spools the line back and forth just sits in one place. You can push it and it will go back and forth but will get stuck again. The kind of reel it is is a pro qualifier tournament edition. What do i do. I'm going with my family on vacation on tuesday next week and i want to take this pole along. What do i do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The line guide pawl is broken.
Thats the worm gear. You should be able to look underneath and see where the little piece that rides that gear gos. It may be loose which would cause it to slip and not ride up in the groove or it may be worn out. Take it into BPS and see if they have that piece so you can get it fixed since it is their reel.
There is no bps with 400 miles from here!!!!! Could dominion out doors fix it?
Did you happpen to clean your reel lately yourself and possibly take all the grease out and out of that gear. Also where that little tooth that rides that gear, look and see if it's loose, if you took it apart, is it straight and lined up in the groove? I have had one that stuck every now and then and a simple piece of plastic (think it came from a crankbait package) inserted in the bottom of the holder to bring the tooth up just a bit fixed it. You might be able to take it to a reel repair place and have them fix it. If it's missing a piece then it's gonna take some time for them to get it. Check all the above first incase it is one of those.
It´s a 5 minute repair ... when you got the part.
Contact Mike @ DVT.... He probably got the part, call him!!

How do i unscrew that cap.
With a flat screwdriver.

I reemoved it now. All i see is a washer and a big metal hunk.
That metal hunk is the pawl, pull it out. The part has two tiny teeth, one must be broken or worn out, reason why doesn´t move from side to side when the worm gear rotates.
When the cap is off it works when it is on it dont work
LOL! Go figure, right.... Take a pic of pawl and post it.....
nothing is wrong with it
Ohhhh k...... Hummm.....
The teeth are both in good condition

You can't always tell by looking at it.
Okay guys, found the problem. The pawpaw wasn't getting pushed down had enough so it was slipping. I put a tiny little wad of tissue in so it stays down. Works great know.
Yea till it gets wet..... Try wax paper

I dodn't consider that wisdom...... I consider it commmon sense. lol
p.s. i did put in wax paper.
The best, most permanent fix would be a thin brass spacer or washer. Most reels come with one in there for just this situation. The cap is vented and I can see the paper spacer deteriorating over time. For a quick fix though, it'll work. Keep an eye on the levelwind. To check it, apply slight pressure against it with a finger while cranking. It. Feel for any hesitation, hang ups, bumps etc especially at each end where it changes direction. Keep it clean and clear of debris and oil it lightly.

That's not true at all. A quick search shows me that you have two BPS's within your state. The one in Ashland is only 107 miles away from you in Staunton.

Have your dad or mom take you to the hardware store so you can buy a small brass washer to fix your reel. Be sure to take the cap and washer with you so you know it'll fit/match up.
