All these rods are roughly the same price, would you choose one over another? I'm up for a new spinning rod, Looking for 7ft, M, used for shaky head, dropshot, senkos, and probly even some really small cranks.
St.Croix rage or mojo
Veritas
Powell diesel
Johnny morris carbonlite
Compre
I'll spend 150 tops, but i dont necessarily want to
Possibly add the fenwick elite tech smallmouth medium action rod to your list of rod candidates. BPS should carry them and TW carries them. Price is right at $129 with a lifetime warranty and good quality components not mention the rod is pretty light as well. I have two of the medium light elite tech rods that I use for most finsesse presentations under 3/16 oz. Stepping up to the medium would be more versatile for what you are wanting to do.
If I was picking from the list you have assmebled it would be the carbonlite followed by the rage rod.
the diesels are supposedly really good for the price, if you are fishing deeper water I would go for one of those. I got a one of the new Kister carbon steels in april and it is a amazing for shaky heads, dropshots, and whacky worms like the senko. Perfect amount of backbone and a ton of tip
Save some cash, get a Sellus
Look at Cabelas version of the St. Croix Premier. The same as the Premier you can get anywhere else, but only Cabelas has the split grip version.
I had the powell diesel in my hands, really nice rod for the money. I agree with kicker though, i also recommend the fenwick smallmouth rod, i have the 6'3 medium i use for small cranks, jerkbaits, and topwater and its an amazing rod for the $100 range.
Carbonlite is a sweet rod. Love mine.
Light, sensative, great price.
I purchased a Gander mountain "shakey rod" guide series spinning rod for around $50.00 on clearance about 5 years ago. 6'9'' med spin is one of my favorites in the boat. I was in Gander this past weekend and I think it retails for around 79.99 now. I have several rods brands you mentioned all of which I like but check one out if you get a chance.
The Fenwick looks pretty nice! And i do like the idea of the diesel, its just without a warranty i'd be nervous of it breaking
st. croix premier. for less money you could go with the triumph, which is still a great rod!
I have a Carbonlite spinning rod (new this seaons) and also a Fenwick Elite Tech SM bait caster. Both are nice, quality rods, and both a very, very light. If both meet your needs, in terms of action, length, etc., I'd chose based on price.

IMHO, Compre for lifetime warranty, and it is quite nice to fish with. Would also consider a Rage seriously, given quality of St. Croix. Or I'd look for a used Avid at the $150 range.
I had a Mojo rod before. I ended up trading it to a friend who doesn't splurge on rods/reels like I do. He likes it a lot
I have both the carbonlite and compre and I've found the compre to be a little more sensitive and in general a more versatile rod. The carbonlite is a very nice rod though. I don't have any experience with the other rods you listed but between these two I would pick the compre.
look for a used GL2, those are super sweet for what you are going to use it for.
I can't speak for the other rods but, the St. Croix Rage rods are awesome. I think they are worth the extra money because they are so light and sensitive.
Theres a 25$ rebate if i buy a PFlueger and a Fenwick, so i'm leaning towards that. Anyone know which rod is better, the hmg or hmx?
I have multiple St Croix and love them. Just purchased the Mojo Bass.
Also have a Shimano Crucial that I love.
So I either get a St Croix or a Shimano.
What about the *** *** black? Amazing rod for $100, I love mine.
One word...Shimano. I love their rods. I have recently changed all my spinning rods to Shimano.
There is a St Croix 6'8" MXF in the Flea Market for $90 plus shipping. This is an absolute steal at this price! You won't find a better rod for this money.
Dobyns Savvy Micro Guide!!
I have the rage for those same techniques and it is great. Remember it is the same blank as the avid but about 40-50 less.
Rage or carbonlite. I've fished with both, and they're great rods with crisp actions and high sensitivity. Never have liked the feel of any of your other options in my hands. I'd probably go rage for fluoro/mono (micro guides), and carbonlite for braid with leader (bigger guides).

Dang wish I would have seen that before. Just ordered a normal Premier for a new trout rod. Oh well, I guess the full grip might be better for the few times I use a rod holder.
St. Croix rods are great. I have a Premier and my dad has a Triumph. I like the Premier better through because it's make in America.
I have a handful of those same rods. personally I would go with an *** black over anything else in that price range.
Might take a look at the Falcon Lowrider XG or the Falcon Bucoo. Great company to deal with.
Powell diesel from what you listed is a d**n fine rod!
Ditto to JigMe. I saved an extra few months and went with a G-Loomis stick and have not regretted it for a second. The sensitivity is just amazing. You can feel the slightest of taps. If you it helps at all, my personal best was taken on this rod - 11.7 in Lake Fork -- on a tiny finesse worm bait ... hardly felt the first tap, but I felt it and it was game on.
Just my two cents worth -- good luck.
Find a rod in your price range. Give it a try. If you like it, buy it. Everyone has an opinion, but yours is the only one that counts.
The fish ranger has Powell Endurance rods, both spinning and casting on sale for 110. Thats 60 bucks off.
Its a no brainer.
