That reel is far more than a custom painted Daiwa Pixy - it is a true work of art both inside and out - minus those ugly reel grips ;D
Actually, the handle is on the Correct side...

wonder if that reel was painted with automotive paint :-? i am really considering having one of my REVO's custom painted !!! any body know ?? anyhow , that is a sweet looking reel (the paint ) .........
The reel grips do look funky, but I've them on a couple reels. :
The guy tha t does the painting uses auto paints and a clear finish that is very tough. Id like to know what it is :-X

Have you actually read the article posted by the guy who built this reel?
where is the article , i want to know what kind of paint was used can you post a link please ?
The line is stacking a little to the left on the spool. Custom painted reels ? Someone has too much cash and waaayyy to much time on their hands. It would match my boat though.

I agree 100%. That Pixy is smokin'! (Especially without those grips)
And, the handle is on the correct side.

I would fish a pink Pixy.
QuoteActually, the handle is on the Correct side...
Absolutely.
I'd change out the batman grips though.
The very first baitcasting reel was designed by a guy called "South-Paw Corrigan"
The reel in the picture was obviously intended for a right-handed angler.

wait, if the handle was on the other side, you'd have to change hands after every cast!
Crank the handle with the wrong hand ?
Someone assembled it backwards, they put the handle on the wrong side and those grips just plain suck!
Nice paint job though.
I'm not sure what the hangup on the grips is...they come off in about 10 seconds. Some guys swear by them, I find them "creepy" feeling. Having the handle on one side or another would only dictate what I used the reel for, though I can pretty much use either side, and no "hand switching" necessary.
Its still the wrong color.

Right color .... Maziora perhaps ?
It would look nice in Maziora, blue, oh boy the possibilities are endeless !
Reels should be black or silver. Period. I'll let the color slide if performance outshines color though.
