For my all around rod what Is the best line that is the most versatile I'll be throwing all sorts of baits on this rod some top water. T rigs jigs some paddle tails spinnerbaits and etc it's my all around rod set up in my arsenal so I would like a like that could do good on all those baits listed
Berkley Big Game Mono - 15 lb test.
Or, I you wanted to kick it up a notch ~
Sunline Shooter Defier Armilo Nylon Line - 17 lb test.

I like Sufix Siege in 12 lb. test for a good mono line. I have had very good luck with it I have not tried a lot of the other brands.
I use either Sufix or Ande. I did just order some P line to try out though.
I use yo zuri from 4lb to 25lb and big game never a issue with either one

#12 Yo-Zuri Hybrid
I'm using sufix Siege 10 pound on my spinning rig and 12 pound on my baitcasting rig.
I'd do 30-40# braid and adjust the leader accordingly. Or straight 15# mono or copolymer
For all purpose use, it's still hard to beat a good co-polymer.
Even though I am a die hard braid/ fluoro leader user, if I ever went back to spooling something besides braid on my reels it would be a co-polymer. I really really used to like Trilene Sensation , but it's been 10+ years since I have used it as a main line. With fluorocarbon prices seemingly going up a couple bucks per spool every year, I just bought some Sensation today for the first time in those said 10+ years to try as leader material. 330 yards for $7 vs. $15-$20 for 150 yards of fluoro.......I hope it works out just fine (I have a feeling it will) as I am always looking to fish cheaper.
When I'm grabbing one rod for pond hopping, it's got braid on it. I feel like I can do just about anything on that rod without giving up much. Mono/copoly will work as well, but I feel the sensitivity of braid is more beneficial
If it were me I'd roll with some 14 lb trilene xl

Berkley Big Game is all I use for saltwater stuff, but I had issues with trying to use it on my baitcasters. Might just be because the spools are older (bought a few 900yd spools at once), but I had constant issues with overruns.
I asked a similar question to this a couple weeks ago; however, I asked for primarily casting soft plastics on spinning reels. Most people said braid as the mainline then use a flouro leader. I am considering using 15lb PowerPro braid with 8' Yozuri Hybrid leader for my spinning reel setup.

Is #12 Yo-Zuri Hybrid good on spinning gear? I use it for my baitcasters but haven't tried it for my spinning gear. Would it be better to use straight #12 YZ Hybrid or #15 PowerPro braid with 8' of #12 YZ Hybrid as a leader on my spinning reel?

Definitely CX premium is a great all around do everything baitcaster spinning reel line ..... not to be confused with Cxx.
Trilene XL mono 12# test.

Production dates are listed on Trilene spool labels if you want to know the shelf life of the line

I don't think you would like #12 on spinning tackle as mainline or as a leader. #6 has breaking strength
of 11.9 lbs and that's what I would recommend.
Berkley Big Game 15#, excellent abrasion resistance & shock absorption!
Silver Thread Copoly in 12 or 14 pound test. That being said, I haven't seen a bad suggestion yet, so it's really up to you.

This.
Looking back, when I first got into bass fishing years ago I had 14lb BPS Excel mono on every reel (four) and fished every kind of bait on it. Even frogs.

My dad has you beat, I took him fishing and he insisted on using a 6ft ml rod with 8lb mono. He ended up landing a nice maybe 5lb bass from the shore in an extremely pressured pond. Don't ask me how on earth that fish got hooked and came in. Oh yeah, I made sure to give him the crappiest frog i had thinking if for some reason he hooked a fish it would surely break him off.
LOL

Just more proof that we might overthink all this stuff just a little......
How heavy of lures are you guys throwing if using something like 15 lb mono?

It's not the lures so much as the conditions. If you're tossing into even sparse weeds, you need the heavier line to get the fish out of there if they wrap around a few stalks of milfoil or a lily stem. Lighter line will snap and there goes both the fish and the lure.

I throw 1/2 oz Spinnerbaits, Rat-L-Traps, & Jigs with 15#

I fish Toledo Bend & marshes of Southwest Louisiana, hardly sparse cover.
