I have been doing a variety of different smoking techniques, and some take quite some time. When I am in a hurry, or it is not practical to use our home smoker, this comes into play.

HOW THIS COMES
This comes in a very well padded box. All of the parts are in pieces and you will have to assemble them.

LIDS
There are 3 lids. They can be used over drinks, jars, small bowls and even plates, depending on the lids. The hose from the smoker fits in the opening and it is rigged to keep the smoke inside.

SMOKER
The smoker runs by 4 batteries. The unit comes with the batteries which is great. You can make some nice smoke once assembled and then inject the smoke into the opening on the lids to make the area very smokey.

CAP
The cap needs the handle on top and you will need to screw it on. It fits well over a plate.

PERFORMANCE
This is the perfect answer not only to smoking some foods and drinks quickly, but using for sous vide. We use the cap and put the meat on the plate and then add a bunch of smoke. We let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Once the smoke makes its way into the meat, then I seal it in the vacuum bag and sous vide it.

RESULTS
This has great results so far. The smoke is great and the effect is wonderful, especially in winter when we won't have access to the grill and our home smoker will take too long.

WOOD
This comes with two types of wood chips. It is a small container so you will have to cut up some larger wood chips when you run out. It is not hard to do, just be aware of that.

BATTERIES
Take the batteries out if you won't be using this constantly. That way they won't corrode the inside of the smoker of they blow.

THE BOTTOM LINE
This is a great little set. It helps a lot for having a great smoke flavor for foods, and even drinks. Just plan to let things sit for a bit.

MY RATING
FIVE STARS. This helps a lot for sous vide which is why I wanted it. My previous smoker was smaller and took longer to get a lot of smoke. This one works a lot better and is not quite so fragile.
