GG : Great value, excellent quality
I’ve been fishing for 30 years, and have more rods and reels than would be considered healthy by many professional psychologists. I’ve been looking for a reel I could use on a lightweight finesse setup, and thought this one might fit the bill.
My first impression was that I was surprised at the quality. It’s lightweight, the reel seat is made of cast metal instead of cheap graphite, the action is very smooth, and anti-reverse is instantaneous. The cork and EVA foam handle is comfortable and adds a nice flair. The only indication that this is a sub-$60 reel is the bail - it’s unusually thick.
After using it a while, I can honestly say it holds up well against a much more expensive reel I bought at roughly the same time - a Pflueger President XT. One thing to note: the 2000 size is larger than expected, comparable to but slightly smaller than the President 3500. It still works fine for my chosen application. Great value reel.

As a regular weekend angler and overall fishing aficionado, I decided to order this Bearking Sky Hawk spinning reel when I saw it was available. What drew me in initially was the eye-catching ergonomic design of the cork knob and the neat color scheme of the reel itself. The red and black combination really pops out and looks beautiful. This reel is perfect for my needs, as I most often target bass, walleye, panfish, and trout. Maybe this reel can handle fighting a small salmon, but I haven't tried that yet.
I set up my reel as follows: monofilament main line (10lb test), and a fluorocarbon leader (8lb test). Of course, I adjust the thickness and length of the leader depending on the condition and the fish I target. The reel is quite user friendly and it's easy to cast any lure or bait that has a bit of weight to it.
