Questions about ASMOKE AS300 Electric Portable Wood Pellet Tailgating tabletop Grill and Smoker w/ Waterproof Cover and Stainless Steel Meat Probe,256 Sq. in. Cooking Area,8 in 1 BBQ Set,PID Control, Pine Green
Q:
Is there a warranty on the paint? I purchased this through Indiegogo and after only 4 months there are large areas of blistering in 2 places!
Answer: The paint is specifically excluded from the warranty.
Q:
Can you use other brand of pellets in this? Has anyone tried? Thank you!
Answer: Yes, any brand should be fine, I’ve been using traeger pellets and they have been working very well.
Answer: Yes I have used Pit Boss pellets with great results.
Q:
Is there liners made for the grease catcher on a asmoke pellet grill?
Answer: Wow there are no actual fitted aluminum liners here is somewhat of a kitchen hack. It's rather small to begin with so this is pretty easy, take it to your kitchen sink soap and water and clean it up pretty good dry it well and then give it a generous spray of"Pam" or any other inexpensive spray you would put on your kitchen pans before frying, well it is not a liner grease slides out a whole lot easier. Good grilling ????
Answer: It has a grease catcher on the side. Keep it clean and there is no other cleanup than some ash
Q:
How long does it take to cool off before putting it away?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: 45 minutes to an hour
Answer: About a hour
Answer: About ten minutes
Q:
How hot will it get in smoke mode
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: There are a lot of people hating on the Asmoke (especially in the Facebook Group). You just have to learn how to use this thing. The Asmoke READS hot, but it does not necessarily RUN hot. I installed a Weber thermometer in the top right side of the lid, and it reads pretty true to the setting. PROTIP: Do not leave the unit on Smoke after it comes up to 200° or so. However, when powering down from a high heat sear, it is useful to leave it on Smoke, with the lid open to cool it down. If the unit is turned to OFF, the fan stops running, and you want the fan going. After the thing cools down, then turn to off.
Answer: My grill runs around 99 degrees in smoke mode but then I turn the heat up. Not sure if this is the right answer.
Q:
Does this come with a 12v cord or do we provide our own 12v inverter and plug 110 cord into inverter?
Answer: Hi, we provide standard 110-120V power cord, no inverter include.
Well an 800 witt inverted generator be enough to power the smoker
Answer: I could not find a wattage number on it but there is only a small fan, a small auger motor, and the igniter.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: I have not tried to use the smoker in this way but it should. The only electric it pulls for is the auger, thermostat and to light the pellets.
Answer: Yes it dose not draw a lot of current
Answer: YES I will work fine i did it
Answer: Yes
Q:
Can you cook beer can chicken on it?
Answer: No not tall enough
Q:
Does it come with the multiple power cords for 110 and 12 volt
Answer: It only comes with 110 volt AC plug. If you want to cook somewhere that doesn't have standard AC power, pickup a battery operated inverter system. Many are less than $100.00 and you can use it to power a lot of other small appliances.
Answer: Power cords is included, tks.
Answer: It comes with one cord and works well with it
Q:
How do I use it as a smoker?
Answer: The instructions are decent in this regard... there is no technical difference in how the grill functions other than setting the temp to “smoke” (or 200-250F settings). Low and slow is the motto for smoking. When the pellets burn at a higher temp the smoke is not as thick and the foods cook and sear quicker without absorbing the Smokey flavor.
Q:
Their is a 2021 version with newer features . Is this the 2021 version ?
Answer: Thanks for your great support to ASMOKE. It's 2020 version.
Answer: No, I don't think the new version is for sale yet. It is going to be more expensive, probably $350 or so.
Answer: This i s the 2021 version and we love it. Works great.
Answer: There is a newer model out now.
Q:
There's no release door on the hopper to remove/change out pellets. How do you empty the hopper?
Answer: Can you run pellets thru without burning ? A way to just turn the auger ?
Answer: Run them through or only add what is needed for your specific cook
Q:
How much space between grill rack and lid
Answer: If you only use the bottom rack you can fit a pork shoulder on it. Top rack takes up a lot of space and you only get a little clearance.
Answer: A couple inches. Enough to put corn or wings or small items like that.
Q:
How do you remove the pellets without igniting them??
Answer: You have to turn the grill upside down to dump them. There is no trap door, like higher-end models. Since this is a table-top size, it is pretty easy to empty the pellets this way, plus, it only holds about 4lbs when full.
Answer: I vacuum mine out, clean the fire pot, then refill.
Q:
Will a prime rib fit in it?
Answer: It all depends how large your prime rib is but yesc you can do a prime rib.
Answer: I have cooked a 6# brisket in it. I guess that all depends on your prime rib.
Answer: Cut I 1/2
Answer: It would need to be boneless. I am going to try one soon.
Q:
How many pounds does the hopper hold?
Answer: About 2 1/2 pounds
Answer: Hopper capacity is 4lbs, tks.
Q:
Amp draw?
Answer: A max if 6amps. That would be on start up.
Q:
Can any kind of pellets be used in it?
Answer: Recommend ASMOKE 100% Pure Food-Grade wood pellet.
Answer: Yes- I just used a Traeger blend and it was super! I love the A Smoke!!
Answer: You can use any kind of pellet you want as long as they were made for cooking.
Answer: Yes!. I would recommend using all-natural pellets.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Can you use a short heavy duty extension cord with this? About 10 feet?
Answer: I use a 20ft extension cord for the RV and it works fine. I have cooked over 25 meals with no problems.
Q:
Anyone power on a yeti 200x? it maxes out at 187 watts but iv seen this pulls 180 during start up and that's a little close for comfort
Answer: I have a 1000 watt invertor, doesn't even know the grill is there
Q:
Can you store this outdoors when bit being used?
Answer: It is suggested to keep your item inside of room when not use.
Answer: Use, comes with a cover
Q:
Turn mine on 350 an it went over 500 degree an shut down 2 times. What’s wrong?
Answer: The temperature control on these is very poor to non existent
Answer: You should turn on the smoker and bring it up to temp slowly. If you turn the temp up tp 350 degrees right away it will do what you said in your question.
Answer: I would say your thermostat is bad.
Answer: You might need to contact manufacturer there may be a defective part.
Q:
Can you smoke a boston butt using a single car battery and an inverter?
Answer: you could use a power generator
Q:
pellet capacity ??
Answer: Pellet Capacity is 4 lbs.
Answer: Pellet capacity 4 lbs
Answer: Holds about 4.5 pounds
Answer: 4 pounds.
Answer: 4 pounds
Q:
Why is this grill available for $39.99?
Answer: That’s not for the grill. That’s for the pellets. You have to click on the grill and you will see that it’s probably $199 plus... I look down below and see what is highlighted. That price is for the pellets.
Answer: CAUTION BAIT AND SWITCH Even if you go for the $199.00 price you will receive a small grill called BA BA Le, something you would find in a Dollar Store. Not a pellet grill.
Q:
Can you smoke a 20lb turkey in this?
Answer: No, its too small. Not enough height between grill grate and closed lid for a 20 pound turkey. It's great for smaller stuff though.
Answer: Not sure we just got ours and what we’ve smoked have been small stuff.
Q:
Will this smoker run on standard household electrical sockets? 120 volt?
Answer: Yes, it has a standard cord and plug.
Answer: Yes, a grounded one.
Answer: Yes it does.
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes it will, I've used plenty of times with standard 120 sockets.
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Q:
Will the asmoke as300 fit a full rack of ribs?
Answer: Depends on whether they are babybacks, spares, or St. Louis trimmed. You’ll most likely need to trim them to fit. I usually cook two or three slabs of St. Louis slabs at a time by cutting them in half lengthwise and using a rib rack to be efficient in my use of the space. There are quite a few YouTube videos that will show you exactly how much cooking space there is. There are also some videos on the asmoke site that demonstrate the grill and you can see what will fit. These grills are not big, but you can cook a lot of food if you use rib racks, the half size upper rack that comes with it, etc.
Answer: The short answer is yes, if you lay it down flat on the grill surface the answer is yes I can cook three racks of baby back or St Louis all on the bottom great I could cook for if I use the little warming tray but it's not really a warming tray it's part of the grill inside you can cook up to five if you buy a rib stacker attachment is like nine bucks or 10 bucks it's a grill accessory and you kind of set them on edge something similar to a US postal mail organizer. Good grilling
Answer: No you have to cut in half to fit on the rack.
Answer: Small baby back rack fits.
Answer: It’s kinda small, you’d probably have to half them but not 100% sure, I will be trying one soon I’ll update :) regardless it’s a great machine makes jerky well and adds great smoke flavor to any food.
Answer: Yes, but you might have to cut the length in half and make 2 rows.
Answer: You would need to cut them in half
Q:
How can i get a griddle plate for table top Asmoker
Answer: there are several available on Amazon that fit dimensionally. Make sure you get one a little smaller if you want to close the lid with the plate inside.
Q:
How can I grill a steak if I do not want it smoked?
Answer: You start the grill and after it gets heating move the temp to 500 degrees and the grill plate that moves over for an open flame. I grill the steaks with the open flame. Sometimes I grill really thick chops on smoke to start with and then go to an open flame.
Answer: All you have to do is slide the panel over so it’s open and cook at a higher temperature…. Smoke setting is 180-200 degrees… with the panel open and the grill at say 350 your steak will be grilled not smoked.
Answer: They smoke when on the smoke setting ( which is about 180 to 200 ). Just keep the top open to grill a steak normally at a higher temperature than smoke
Answer: Yes you can grill a steak, just need to adjust to higher temp to grill it quicker than smoking it. We have smoked corn beef brisquet, pork and beef ribs, pork loin, corn on the cob and hamburgers that were smoked and grilled. The main tool is the temp gauge and watching the actual temp to get your desired results.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Just crank the temperature up to 475 - 500 & grill away. Ribeye steaks come out delicious.
Answer: I grill steaks at 400 degrees on my Asmoke As300 grill. This works quite well.
Answer: It’s not just a smoker, it’s a grill also.
Answer: Yes, you can BUT it will still have a slight smoke taste, much like using charcoal
Answer: The plate underneath the grate has slotted holes in it. Slide the plate to open it. Then u cook at a higher temperature. Also use a milder pellet. I found apple blend is really good.
Q:
How do I get it to regulate at 180 degrees? I'm noticing my replacement can't hold a temp below 250-300 degrees. Is it the internal temperature probe?
Answer: I've noticed that too. Upon observing my grill, the type of pellets affects temp. A good hard pressed pellet holds a steady temp pretty good/ The Smoke setting will stay pretty consistent, as well as 200 for long smoking sessions. Does a pork shoulder overnight perfectly. The probe doesn't make a bit of difference, only to tell you the internal temp
Answer: On the smoke setting it will run 170 to 195
Q:
How many pound turkey can you fit in this
Answer: You would want to stick to a smaller one. I cook big chickens in mine, never tried a turkey. A big Thanksgiving turkey wouldn't fit.
Answer: Check ASmoke A300 in youtube for info.
Q:
is this the correct price I can buy the same grill on line from Jianni for $39.98?
Answer: yes it is the right price
Q:
Is there a chimney where does the smoke come out
Answer: There are many holes on the back side of grill, smoke can come out that way.
Answer: Purchased a couple weeks ago and just did the burn-off this ast weekend.
Answer: No. You don’t want a chimney because you want to smoke to stay in and flavor the food. It comes out vents in the back.
Answer: No. You don’t want a chimney because you want to smoke to stay in and flavor the food. It comes out vents in the back.
Answer: No chimney, it just seeps out
Answer: No
Q:
Is the temperature setting fully adjustable, or just by 25 or 50 degree increments?
Answer: The adjustment is scaled in 25 degree increments.. But you will see a 10-15 degree swings as the pellet feeder runs.. You can adjust to a range for your cooking requirements.
Answer: I bought one during their “Campaign” on Indiegogo. I got to use mine about six times. Then on the Smoke setting, it adds pellets to the fire pot every few seconds. The temperature essentially begins to “runaway”. I have to turn it off for fear it lighting on fire. I have called the number on the back. There is no answer until it hits a answering service with no identification at all. I left three messages over several days. Nothing. I have sent seven emails to support@asmoke.com. Again, nothing. At this point, it is a boat anchor. Five year warranty? I think not.
Answer: Just increments
Q:
Will you please help me find a temperature probe for my 300
Answer: There should be one temp probe in every carton. You could get support through Message if can't find yours.
Answer: There’s an prob that comes with it. It connects to the smoker and you can see it displayed on the screen of the smoker.
Q:
Can I use this on a folding plastic picnic table, or will it get too hot?
Answer: It is recommended to use heat-resistant barbecue table when grilling.
Answer: We use ours on a folding plastic table. It does not get too hot.
Q:
Do the pellets need to be food grade or can I use the cheap hardware store fireplace pellets?
Answer: Food grade ONLY! Fireplace pellets have chemicals in them
Answer: Use food grade. I don’t know what is in fireplace pellets. I can tell you a bag of the traeger mixed wood pellets is about 18 bucks and lasts through several smoking sessions.
Q:
Should the auger run constantly?
Answer: Depends on the temp you are running it at. the higher the temp, the more it will be running. At smoking temps, like 225F, it should only run every few minutes.
Answer: No, only when it needs to produce more heat.
Answer: Mine does.
Answer: No it should not.
Q:
Can you use this smoker indoors?
Answer: Haven't checked the Owner's Manual, but I would NEVER use it inside. It useds combustible pellets for heat and unlike a pellet heater, it is not designed to vent the CO2 produced to the outside. Inside use would create a dangerous situation, not to mention that part of the reason for the "smoker" is to create a high volume of smoke for flavorful, slow cooking.
Answer: I would not suggest using the grill indoors as it gives off a lot of smoke.
Answer: We suggest to use ASMOKE Portable Pellet Grill outdoor as there would have smoke when smoking and grilling.
Answer: No, I would not use it in doors.
Answer: NO,definatly not.
Q:
How evenly does this cook? Seems like there would be a hot spot in the center.
Answer: I am sorry, I just received the product and only cooked on it once. From one cook it did have spots that cooked differently and I rotated the meat. For me I felt the back of the grill was warmer.
Answer: I love this grill. I think it cooks better than my Traeger. I have not ever noticed a hot spot.
Answer: Hot spot is right edge towards the grease drain. Air flow gap is widest there
Answer: the center is not a hot spot but it does cook a little more on the right side
Q:
How big of a brisket can be smoked on this?
Answer: The cooking area of main grate is about 191 sq in.
Answer: One that fits the grill like 14 lb no problem
Q:
This this run on a 12 volt power bank?
Answer: It needs a certain power but yes I ran mine of my jockery charger for 5 hours
Q:
what is the grilling area size
Answer: Approximately 14"x13"
Q:
Is this run by electric or do you need a propane tank
Answer: It's an electric machine, the fuel is wood pellets.
Answer: You need electric. No propane needed.
Answer: Electric
Q:
What stand should I buy?
Answer: You don't need a stand it will sit on any table.
Answer: We just use a plastic folding table. The smoker does not get hot underneath. And we’ve cooked ribs for 6 hours with no issues.
Answer: Any table or surface than it not overtly flammable/meltable should be fine. Mine doesn't seem to get too hot on the base, but there is a bit of radiating heat. The legs barely get hot at all.
Answer: I purchased a roll up metal table rated for 70lbs on Amazon, it has adjustable legs so it works great for uneven campsites.
Answer: I use a folding table for my grill.
Q:
Is this obe smart phone controlled?
Answer: No it’s not
Q:
What is the cooking grid siz
Answer: Main Cooking Area - 191 sq.in.
Answer: 14 and a half by 13 in. Which is 191 square inches lower rack. Top rack 65 square inches.
Q:
How’s the temperature accuracy is it within 5°?
Answer: Advanced auto pellet feed system and heating fans maintain temperatures from 180°F to 500°F, controller keeps precision within +/- 10 degrees and display real time temperatures.
Answer: Mine does not, but the fluctuations in temperature happens when the hopper is fed more pellets which is also the time a large amount of smoke is produced. I have a larger pellet grill that keeps a much more consistent temperature but does not create the nice deep smoke ring like this does. I love mine so far, I had a problem with it giving an error code after the second time using it, I reached out through Amazon and asmoke responded promptly and got me what I needed to fix it.
Product reviews of ASMOKE AS300 Electric Portable Wood Pellet Tailgating tabletop Grill and Smoker w/ Waterproof Cover and Stainless Steel Meat Probe,256 Sq. in. Cooking Area,8 in 1 BBQ Set,PID Control, Pine Green
Amazon Customer : This thing is awesome!
Smokes amazing salmon flanks, Turkey Legs, and so much more. It also can grill very well too! It's super easy to use, very portable, and versatile! Plus the company is really good with returns. Just be very careful cooking/smoking foods that release tons of grease like pork belly bites. for stuff like this I recommend cooking inside a pan on this smoker. I'm an amateur to smoking, and this was a perfect purchase to start out. I highly recommend it! :)
Amazon Customer : Good quality smoker for the price
This smoker has a few more features then the Country Smoker I had previous. I like the built in meat thermometer, and the display monitor is easy to read. The design of this smoker is more square, so your meat fits into the smoker better. The temperature control runs a little high, but not enough to make a difference. Good quality construction and I like the hopper over the Country Smoker, it seems to feed smoother.
Shelley V. : Temperature is 100 degrees off
Temperature control off by 100 Degree's used oven thermometer and prose in cooking area both reading were 100 degrees lower than digital indicator. Problem is thermostat prob in the fire pot area and not in the cooking area. But it does work great besides that little quirk
DP : Great all in one tabletop smoker.
Amazing all in one smoker, grill, roaster, baker. Had some order issues from FedEx not delivering or getting back to me and Asmoke was quick to send a replacement. 10 out of 10. I use it all the time and I very easy to use!
Paul Crawford : Temperature control is terrible.
A smoker is no good if it won't go to smoke temperature(180-200). I have had terrible customer support. I have had this smoker for 2 months and it isn't fixed yet. They sent a control board. and it didn't work so now I am waiting on another. I have spent several days doing what they told me to do. ASOMKE has a serious quality control problem, unless you want to spend months working on the AS300 DO NOT PURCHASE. Also, tech support is non-existent.
cpt F : wont even let me post pic that it doesnt give you manual when requested
Couldn't find my paperwork after wife “filed” it. Went on website to get users manual and it links to nowhere! You cannot get a user's manual from asmoke website!
Amazon Customer : Poor quality control
1st one i got had a bad board not able to control the heat properly, i sent it back. The second one I received worked but one of the locks is missing one rivet. Decided to keep it, too much trouble of packing it and sending it back. It’s been working properly since day one. Only thing that ive noticed are the side seals starting to fall off.
WJM : Nice unit
Like the way it looks and quality of this unit. Easy to assemble and use. Start up quickly and can start cooking i 10-25 minutes. The temp control has room for improvement.
natalie Silver : Easy assembly, works great and couldn't cook the food better.
I had not found the perfect grill for my camper until this one!! I bought a pellet grill for my house a couple years ago so I searched for a portable pellet grill and found this one. Easy to assemble, 30 minute burn off then the perfect steaks and baked potatoes. It came with a cover and a meat temp probe.
Kyleservicetech : Great Unit!
This unit far outperforms my old gas grill. The gas grill got donated to good will.
Above 300F, the temperature setting is accurate. At 200 to 250F, the LED display is off by about 50 degrees. But the actual measured temperature is fairly close to the dial setting.
And, it's easy to see how much fuel it has, just open the pellet container. Not so easy on my gas grill.
Turn it on, it's ready to cook in 6-8 minutes.
I bought a 40 pound bag of pellets. After a LOT of cooking, 1/2 of the pellets are left.
Douglas Jones : Fantastic Grill/Smoker
I'm currently working with Asmoke Customer Service about an overheat issue. They have been super helpful and very responsive. This is the best grill/smoker I have ever owned. I would use it everyday if my wife would let me.
Eric : Wipe out and off your grill with a wet microfiber
Quality looks and feels excellent however I spent 45 min cleaning out and off insulation residue very itchy stuff and would not like that in my food. Will let know on the operation side of things when I get it going
Trish : No! No! No! Don’t do it!
Don’t just read the Amazon reviews, google reviews for it, join the Facebook group for this cooker and read. Temperature uncontrollable. I suspect this is caused by the pellet setup. This has the same size pellet set up as the Traeger that had three or four times the cookspace. It gets too hot and is dangerous! A new control board won’t help it!
WJM : Nice unit
Like the way it looks and quality of this unit. Easy to assemble and use. Start up quickly and can start cooking i 10-25 minutes. The temp control has room for improvement.
J Scott : Better than expected
Took it on a recent camping trip. It is the perfect size, compact enough to set on a picnic table and versatile enough to cook pork, chicken and steak and probably anything else you'd put on a grill. Easer to clean than my portable Coleman grill with much better results. The pork country spare ribs were smoked at 200 for an hour and a half then finished off at 400 deg to an internal temp of 170 deg. Impressive smoke ring and excellent results. Made boneless chicken thighs stuffed with cheese and ham in a similar way, Again excellent result, used a basic rub on both. The steak I smoked at the lowest setting for a half hour then seared to finish it off, very nice. Didn't use many pellets I topped off the hopper once for the trip. Much easier to bring than my Masterbuilt though it doesn't obviously have the capacity. As it has a larger temperature range it is much more versatile when on the road. I will be bringing it all the time and will be using it at home often as well.
John Lanclos : Great grill, bad hopper
This grill cooks excellent, the only thing that I don’t like is the hopper bind for the pellets. The pellets tend to form a void as they are feeding the auger system so you have to keep an eye on the hopper at least every 30 minutes to keep the pellets moving. I would definitely buy this grill again, great grill
Cheryl A. Kaskey : Review of Asmoke AS300
I like that is easy to move around and take on trips. Operation is straight forward. Just turn the dial to heat setting. It runs hotter than the setting you choose. At the smoke setting it is supposed to run at 180 degrees and it consistently runs in the 250-300 range. It does give a good smoke taste to food. Have ran several types of pellets and it uses all with the same results.I have a larger smoker that require more room on grill but for smaller cooks it works good. I would sure like it better if the smoke setting would actually run in the 180-200 degree range.
Mark : Cool little pellet grill, inaccurate controller.
The controller doesn’t work well. 4th of July I had it set on smoke and upon checking on it noticed the temp was at 350, and proceeded to climb all the way to 500. I set it to 225 and that helped, but still remained at 300.
Josh Scarbrough : This is like everything u want in a smoker
I love this product felt lined lid holds smoke real good huge hopper so u don’t have to keep feeding it digital control plus the temp gauge awesome. Plus the option of sliding the cover over to flame grill burgers hotdogs I’m telling you best dog I’ve had in awhile and fits in the motorhome compartment very well 10/10 pull the trigger
scott : Easy to use
Perfect for apartment living where has grills aren’t allowed
Oscar H. : Was not happy with the grill but buyer beware
I bought the grill but used it once was not happy with the product and was going to return it and found out to late that they charge a 50% restocking fee ! Now I’m stuck with a grill that does not cook like it’s advertising . So hopefully this keeps someone else from making the same mistake I made .
Dwight Bibbs : It's really portable and does a great job.
This is the perfect smoker for small apartments. Perfect for small families. It's holds temp very well.
Jan M : Very compact but does have enough square feet of cooking area to cook for several people.
We took this little smoker/grill camping with our RV and our chicken was absolutely delicious. We love this and highly recommend it for anyone with an RV or a tent. Also recommend for your patio or deck.
Scott : Buy a different smoker.
Does not hold set temperature. Large temperature swings make it useless as a smoker. (30 to 80 degrees) Tried contacting customer service, but getting an old message from 4th of July. (Contacted them on July 18th.) Already got rid of box, so I'm stuck with a boat anchor.
Ron D : Temp is too high!!!
If you want something that will heat up quickly to grill hamburgers or chicken thighs, this is the machine for you. If you are looking to smoke anything I would pass on this “smoker”. The temperature never gets below 325 so if you need a grill that is hot and fast go for it. I was hoping this smoker would be able to stay around 220-250 so I could smoke meat low and slow. At it’s lowest setting of 180 it stays anywhere between 325-350. I wrote the company about the issue and they sent a new controller without instructions. I can hang a ceiling fan so it wasn’t too difficult to do. But even after the swap this thing stays just shy of the sun on temp. Haven’t even attempted to put it at its highest setting of 500 degrees, I’m afraid it might explode. Writing this one off as a loss for smoking, I’ll still be able to grill hamburgers though. Have to save up for a decent smoker now because this ain’t it. If you get one, good luck, you’re probably going to need it.
Alberto Dominguez : El precio
Muy bueno Lo malo es que no controla bien la TENPERATURA
Allen W. Nelson : Not as good as I had hoped.
Doesn’t work near as good as my regular pellet grill. You have to set the temperature setting at high to get a good grilling temperature. I bought because of the reasonable price but should have paid more get a more efficient grill. Having said that, it does work okay once you get used to the temperature problem.
J. R. Harmon : Great Smoker AND BBQ too!
It’s the size of a large cooler (more or less). Weight is not bad at all. It works VERY well.
HDrider1584 : Absolutely no temperature control
I have scrapped this grill due to being unable to control the temperature. You can not contact Asmoke via phone as when they answer all, you get is music. Your only way to contact them is email and they take 2-3 days to respond. After numerous emails I finally received a new controller board and probe after over a month waiting. After installing them the problem remained and Asmoke told me I needed to due several burn ins for the controller to learn the temperature profile. I found no change after 6+ Burns. I asked for a refund or a replacement and that was denied. I was told I could send it to them for repair on my dime. So much for offering a 5 year warranty.

cpt F : wont even let me post pic that it doesnt give you manual when requested
Couldn't find my paperwork after wife “filed” it. Went on website to get users manual and it links to nowhere! You cannot get a user's manual from asmoke website!
Douglas Jones : Fantastic Grill/Smoker
I'm currently working with Asmoke Customer Service about an overheat issue. They have been super helpful and very responsive. This is the best grill/smoker I have ever owned. I would use it everyday if my wife would let me.
Jcliff : Don’t buy it’s Chinese junk
Tried to cook a steak on this smoker while out camping. Digital read out was up and down and could not control it and shut down twice on over temp. Tried to return to Amazon but was told it was past there 30 day return policy. What they don’t seem to understand is that it was bought as a gift from wife 30 days prior to use. What was she supposed to do try it out then repackage it then give as a gift? Know stuck with a 250 piece of junk!!!! Not happy!!!
Sethulon5000 : good smoker, shit everything else.
I have a few problems with this product. 1) it absolutely sucks at anything other than smoking. 2) the temp controls are garbage and have inconsistent increments. 200, 225,250, 300? No 275? I guess it doesn’t matter anyway because the temp controls will not hold temp with any accuracy. I was making a brisket the other day, set temp to 225F. I come back an hour later to check on it and the temp had climbed to over 300! It came back down after a bit but it freaked me out a bit. The brisket did turn out really good though. 3) the marketing team needs to be fired. The ad claims that it can do 8 things. Grill, sear, smoke, bbq, bake, roast, braise, and boil. I dont know about you, but to me, that is 4 things with 2 ways of saying each task. Smoking and bbqing is the same thing, grilling and searing is the same thing, boiling and braising is the same thing. Baking and roasting is the same thing!
Bob Putzier : Looks like a great product, time will tell !
Customer service was great to work with since it was late for a birthday gift for a family member that was passing through Oregon from out of state. Not sure if I want to open it and try it out or save it for the next time my son passes through Oregon.
Casey Wittmer : Amazing results
This was my first pellet grill. I've used charcoal, and a puck style smoker for years. This grill was purchased for camping because of its compact size. Well of course I had to test it out! I was blown away by how fast it came up to temp, and also reached sear temp. I cooked four 16oz ribeyes and a filet. The results show for themselves in the pictures. The AS300 hit 500+f to do a sear, and then I tented them while I let the grill cool to 350. It worked exactly as I would hope. I'm likely going to order another to have at home. Love this lil grill.
Cyborg762 : Great little grill
Great portable grill for the money. Cooks well and is easy to clean.
JoAnne : Great portable smoker
My husband loves this. Its a small portable smoker. You can easily take it when you camp or to a picnic. We dont cook huge feasts so it does the job for us. The food is amazing! If you want a small smoker for your home that you can use on occasion or to camp or travel, this is great! We clean it when done and easy to store. Worth every penny.
Deb Cuyle : You won't be disappointed!
LOVE love Love this...great for both camping or the porch. EASY to use!
Blaise : Not good temps
Not sure how to use this or if it even is accurate. It’s almost 100° different no matter what temp it’s set to.
IN : Fantastic smoker/grill for the price. Great customer service.
I had some issues with the temperature when I first got it. I used it once and couldn’t get the temperature below 300F. The second time I used it, I went through the entire first startup procedure to make sure it wasn’t something I was doing wrong. Had the same issue, so I emailed customer service through the asmoke website. I detailed everything I had done. I got a response the next day and it stated they were sending a new controller. I had already said that I was more than able to replace parts, especially since there are videos detailing how to do it. The parts arrived a few days later. It took about 15 minutes to replace the temperature control and temperature probe. I fired it up and have cooked half a dozen times with fantastic results. Issues happen, and I think the customer service was top notch. That being said, I have made a 10lb brisket, chops, smoked a 5lb ham, some pork loins, and ribs. It truly is set it and walk away. I used thermo products to send temp alerts, so I don’t have to babysit at all. The probe that comes with it is pretty accurate. I compared it to my higher-end probes and it was within a couple degrees. There are a lot of people who say they don’t get enough smoke. I love smoked foods and wouldn’t want more. I like to set it at 250, which I feel is perfect for smoking most meats. It also is very fuel efficient. I can go for about 12-15 hours on a single full hopper, which is only 4-5lbs. Outside temp has been between 75-85F when I’ve used it. I wondered if the size would be an issue, but it’s only me and the wife and I have easily put on enough to feed 6-8 people. Ribs take up a lot of space, but with a rack, I have been able to fit 3 racks of St. Louis spares. They did have to be cut in half, but fit perfectly. Your mileage may vary, but if you aren’t feeding a house party, this is a great size. Note: the lid is a tad short, so you might not be able to beer can a chicken, but I haven’t tried yet.

Nancy J. Webb : Great for traveling or small patios
We bought this to put in our storage area of our motorhome. We have used it like crazy and love the size of it. We were able to cook 8 good size hamburgers at one time. Cooked 3 large steaks with room for 1 or 3 more. It fits in our storage area with no problem. One of the best purchases
Krystal Shetler : Caught fire
We tried to smoke a pork butt while camping. It was our second time using it, and the first time we attempted to use it for a larger smoking project. This is what happened about 9 hours into it. It was extremely dangerous. I’m glad it was away from anything that could catch fire. We are returning it and getting a replacement from Amazon to save on shipping, but if we aren’t happy with it, we’ll be returning it for a full refund. Just beware. I’m not sure this is a product you want to use to do any normal smoking, perhaps just grilling and shorter meat times. We’re very disappointed.

Patriot6316 : Smoker for 2
What i like. Perfect size for two people. Can cook 2lbs of beef jerky with extra rack. I cooked a 4 lb chicken with no problem. Temp fluctuates a little but dont find it to be a problem. Cooks hamburgers really well. Its great for camping and at home use.
What i dont like. Customer service is abosoluty horrible. When u call the numbers its like ir on hold immediately. Emailing back and forth is awful. Way too time consuming. Good luck getting parts.
you can compare the product price from Costco, wayfair, bestbuy, lowes, target, homedepot, Walmart, ebay, amazon to find the best price for you
