Product reviews of Black Anchor Fillet Knife 3-Pack | 6.5" Razor Sharp 3CR13 Stainless Steel Blade with Sheath
Brian Gant / Fossil Creek Kennels : Excellent product highly recommended
I like the Handel design and the small blade design will fit in small places on boat or in backpacks or tackle boxes. Comes with a plastic sheath and is made from stainless steel. So No. rusting !!! I highly recommend these knives
Snowbound : Great little fillet knives, but...
Been filleting a lot of walleye lately and this little knife does an excellent job and holds an edge. Also put one of the three in the kitchen and recently used it to trim up a big brisket and separate the point and the flat.
4 out of 5 stars because the serrated scaler and line notch are simply annoyances and get in the way of an otherwise slick little fillet knife. Seriously, who scales fish anymore?
Five0retired : A cut above the rest.
I like to fish, and to do so I need the tools to help me be successful in my attempts. This is a perfect package. I like these Fillet Knives. I find them well made and the design is well thought out. The plastic sheath, great for use in the harsh saltwater environment. The 4" blade size, I find it easy to control and handle. I like the plastic locking knob on the sheath. to prevent any of those unexpected blade withdrawals. The design of having a line cuter available without having to remove the knife from its sheath is brilliant. The fact that there are 3 of them, affords me the opportunity, to keep one on my filet table, one in my tackle box, and one on my belt or to hand to my fishing companion, who forgot to bring one.
Crafty Rose : Good value.
Was looking for some that was light and was easy to store. These knives will fit the bill.
Robert W Barrington : Great product
Great for the tackle box!
Tyler Forge : The designers seem to have been confused
I use knives as tools. These knives seem designed sorta as fillets knives, sorta as something cool looking, and maybe sorta as a survival knife.
A good fillet knife has a decent handle and a thin piece of somewhat bendy steel that holds an edge. The whole thing has to be easy to clean because fillet knives (when used for filleting stuff) get covered in blood and sticky critter bits. The serrations on the back of the blade defeat easy cleaning and I've never needed such serrations when filleting something. The notch that is exposed when the sheath is on is similarly problematic.
Which brings us to the sheath. The locking feature is nice. The openings exposing the sides of the blade, not so nice. The purpose of a knife sheath is to protect you from the blade and to protect the blade from the environment. The windows defeat that purpose. Their function seems to be "looking cool".
And that -"looking cool"- seems to have been too much of a design principal that resulted in reduced functionality. A fillet knife will never be a decent survival knife because the blade is too thin, and the knife itself isn't sturdy enough to be hammered into a stump. For some reason, someone decided to add some survival knife features to a fillet knife, thereby reducing its utility as a fillet knife. I don't see an up side to this.
All that said - the handles are nice. I like the color coding which makes it easy to keep track of which knife is which. Sometimes you have to switch to a sharper knife and it sucks to grab one that hasn't had a trip through the sharpener.
Robert Arnemann : Awsome
Great value for great product
Laura : good easy-to-use easy to carry
These have about the right amount of flex, are comfortable and arrive pretty sharp. I view these as good kit knives, keep one in the boat, one in the tackle box and one in the backpack. Never know when a fish needs cleaning, these also work well on quail and dove...not as well as purpose made for quail or dove but good enough for me. They feel as they will be pretty durable, also they are easy to sharpen, that often means easy to dull, but they take a good edge quickly, and are inexpensive enough that I won't spend an hour crying if they fall overboard.

Knives are good quality The sheath locks onto the hand ensuring safety at all times. Think these will hold up for a long time.
