Product reviews of Black Anchor Fillet Knife 3-Pack | 6.5" Razor Sharp 3CR13 Stainless Steel Blade with Sheath
Tyler Forge : The designers seem to have been confused
I use knives as tools. These knives seem designed sorta as fillets knives, sorta as something cool looking, and maybe sorta as a survival knife.
A good fillet knife has a decent handle and a thin piece of somewhat bendy steel that holds an edge. The whole thing has to be easy to clean because fillet knives (when used for filleting stuff) get covered in blood and sticky critter bits. The serrations on the back of the blade defeat easy cleaning and I've never needed such serrations when filleting something. The notch that is exposed when the sheath is on is similarly problematic.
Which brings us to the sheath. The locking feature is nice. The openings exposing the sides of the blade, not so nice. The purpose of a knife sheath is to protect you from the blade and to protect the blade from the environment. The windows defeat that purpose. Their function seems to be "looking cool".
And that -"looking cool"- seems to have been too much of a design principal that resulted in reduced functionality. A fillet knife will never be a decent survival knife because the blade is too thin, and the knife itself isn't sturdy enough to be hammered into a stump. For some reason, someone decided to add some survival knife features to a fillet knife, thereby reducing its utility as a fillet knife. I don't see an up side to this.
All that said - the handles are nice. I like the color coding which makes it easy to keep track of which knife is which. Sometimes you have to switch to a sharper knife and it sucks to grab one that hasn't had a trip through the sharpener.
Rhonda L Edinger : Fishing
Very good
Kenneth : Good quality knifes , durable and sharp
I got these Black Anchor Fillet Knife 3-Pack | 6.5" Razor Sharp 3CR13 Stainless Steel Blade with Sheath in recently and they work great.
First you get 3 knives with sheaths and these are made out of stainless steal witch is great because they want rust. I also really like the sheaths these come with , there’s a thumb lock on them that you have to push upwards or the knife want come unsheathed, great safety feature.
They also have a line cutter that you can use even if the knife is sheathed witch I really like as well. These are very sharp but I wouldn’t say razor sharp however should be perfect for cutting up fish.
Overall a great knife set. Durable and sharp plus you get 3 of them.
I would recommend these

Snowbound : Great little fillet knives, but...
Been filleting a lot of walleye lately and this little knife does an excellent job and holds an edge. Also put one of the three in the kitchen and recently used it to trim up a big brisket and separate the point and the flat.
4 out of 5 stars because the serrated scaler and line notch are simply annoyances and get in the way of an otherwise slick little fillet knife. Seriously, who scales fish anymore?
El Perla69 : Excelente
Cuchillo para pesca, muy bueno
Tracey P : Good value for the price.
These are lightweight and very sharp. I haven’t used them much yet but fir the price I think they are a good value.
Rebecca : So far so good.
I got these for my boys for Christmas. They LOVE fishing. They haven't used them yet but did say they could have been a little sharper.

???? KT : If it hadn't been a 3 pack, I would've bought at least one more anyway
- Made in China
- Black part of handle feels like a composite. Rigid, with a slight texture. Colored part of handle is silicone-feeling grippy stuff
- Handle shape is very well done. A curve at both pinky and forefinger gives a good stability
- 3 holes in handle for lanyard
- Blade cover can be removed with just a thumb movement. Very handy if you have a floppy fish in front of you
- Cord cutting notch remains usable with cover on but won't quite let you gouge a finger
The blade on this is just about perfect for a shorter filet knife. Thin and flexible for allowing you to follow the line of the fish. Sharp and smooth to not mar the meat. A small pointy tip to get into small places. Serration on a bit, just in case.
Lightweight, well worth their space/weight requirements in hiking, camping, or prepping.
Good stuff.

Jorge : Extremely sharp but bends/snaps easily
I bought these as backup fishing knives. First time I used it to bleed a fish it was permanently bent. It's way too thin and flimsy. It managed to bleed the fish though.
