Answer: Use something like a dinner knife and slip it under the PLUS end of the device to sort of pry it open. If you scroll down on the product page you can see a video of how to do it. You can also use your finger to apply downward and backwards (away from the device) to slide the cover off. It is difficult but can be done. Once you succeed once you will be able to do it thereafer. This little easy to use tool works pretty good. I first used cheap batteries and it didn't seem to heat very well. so I put in some good quality batteries and it worked just as described. It warmed up fast and it sealed the plastic package good, in one swipe. The little cutter on the other side is a nice little extra. Good value for the money.

First off the delivery was early so that was awesome, and secondly for as low a price and getting two of these in one purchase I’m very happy to have one as a back up. The setup was simple, pop in a couple double AA batteries, warm up and test. I tested with a little square cut out of a zip lock sandwich bag and it worked great after practicing a few times. I am excited to use it in the future and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a mini sealer for all intent and purposes. Thanks for the great product Mary!

For me this is in my emergency tire repair kit for my bike. Have had two flats in the last 3 weeks all from little thorns along the trail. This this stores nicely on the bike and after patching the tire will get you up to riding pressure in about 5 minutes of vigorous pumping. 5 minutes gets it up to "get home riding" pressure. I've never tried to get the full 100lbs it claims ... but it does work very well or my purposes. comes with the tire tools to remove the tire from the rim. The whole package is easily carried on the bike or in a cargo shorts pocket. Couldn't recommend it more highly

Tracy : Doesn't get hot enough
This little sealer just doesn't get hot enough to seal standard bags. It seals ziploc bags ok, but they seal themselves anyway, right. I use 1-2 mil bags in my business and this won't seal the plastic no matter how slow I pull it. I let it warm up 5 seconds, then 10, and still no dice. I tried Duracell batteries - no better. Thinking it needed more power, I dropped a couple of 14450 batteries in it and it worked fine on a 2 mil bag, but it is still hard to get the line straight. I haven't tried it on chip bags; it may work fine for those. On the other end, the cutter is worthless. I had high hopes for this little sealer so I wouldn't have to have a large unit in my office, but if you need quality for business application you should look elsewhere.

Love this little gadget. Believe it or not, I saw this on TikTok as an “Amazon product you didn’t know you needed”. Since my older sons are on their on at college, they eat a lot of pre-packaged items. So we got one for each boy as a stocking stuffer. They were actually excited to try them out so the boys went in our pantry, opened new bags of chips and crackers just to re-seal them. Lol! It works pretty good for such a small device. The cutter even works so the bags that are mostly empty aren’t as big and don’t take up as much room. My husband wants one for our house now. Guess we’re getting another one.

I got one before and was working fairly fine not the best but functional, so I decided to get some more so I can keep one in my car and one at work. I picked this one with 2 in the pack thinking it's a better deal - NOT AT ALL!!! This one doesn't even work !!! I am very disappointed and returned the item. I wanted a small pump, lightweight, for use in emergencies. This one seems to be just what I was looking for. It's in my bike bag although it can be easily mounted. If the time comes that I need it, I think it will work just fine. If not, I'll go back and revise this review. A small repair kit was included with the pump. Take a minute and check out the directions to make sure you are using the right end to match up with your tube's valve.

This is a great little compact bag sealer. We use it in our camper for sealing open chip bags. It has been the perfect little tool for us. It’s just me and my husband and we prefer different types of chips, when we seal our bags, they last longer, so we each get to have the kind we want. When we started camping, I knew one of the things we needed was a little sealer for open bags. I did struggle to use it at first, but it worked perfectly for my husband. We discovered that I was pulling it across the bag too fast. As long as you keep it steady and don’t rush, it works great!

I love this little gadget. It hangs on my cabinet where it is always handy, and it's easy to use. It doess have a slight learning curve, as different bag thicknesses and materials may require different pressure and speed. To open, you can either use the cutter-end or just pull apart. It seals better than twist-ties or rubber bands, and I think it also keeps your snacks, cereal, etc fresher. Plus mine was a two-pack so the second one was a great gift for my sister!

I just put batteries in it and started trying it out. Haven't quite mastered it yet but it definitely seals quickly. Works best when the end is cut level. Make sure not to move to slow or to fast when sealing or it'll burn the bag or not seal completely. I think this will save us from a lot of stale or spoiled food.

This device does require a some finesse to get the hang of it, but after a few attempts, you definitely start getting the hang of it. Warming up the device is necessary for getting the product hot enough to start creating a seal on first contact.

bought this so i can seal my 100% dry nail polish called color street strips, they come in a sealed plastic but once it is open the unused product can go to waste unless the plastic bag is sealed by a heating iron. this is WORKS GREAT! and the cutter on the other side to re open them is awesome! my people love it as a gift

Ordered this as a stocking stuffer but wanted to try it out to make sure it works and leave a review accordingly. The batteries are easy to install. It takes a little practice to get the hang of sealing bags but then you can’t stop until every bag is sealed in your pantry. I found it works better going from left to right on the package.

The hook to hang it is convenient. It doesn’t get lost in a drawer full of gadgets. I didn’t realize it had a cutter on one end. I bought it just to seal bags ???? It’s just 2 of us in the house now and it takes awhile to use up an entire bag of anything. This is handy for us.

Very well designed small pump. The flexible tube is stored on the handle which makes a very small form factor. The flex tube makes operating the pump very easy. It mounts very discretely. I really like the pump and it's perfect for my application. I use it for a baby stroller with small inflatable tires. I will say the air volume is relatively modest so if you desire a quick inflation of larger tires, this may be on the small side for you.

First off the delivery was early so that was awesome, and secondly for as low a price and getting two of these in one purchase I’m very happy to have one as a back up. The setup was simple, pop in a couple double AA batteries, warm up and test. I tested with a little square cut out of a zip lock sandwich bag and it worked great after practicing a few times. I am excited to use it in the future and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a mini sealer for all intent and purposes. Thanks for the great product Mary!
Lawrence Iserson : No response from owner about defective unit
I received this item and tried it out. Not so easy with the cutting end, but I don’t care about that. The heating end worked fine. I wanted to give the second one to my daughter. It did not work. Kept trying, still didn’t work. I was going to return for exchange but then I saw the note from the owner saying to please email her if there were any problems and she would rectify them. I sent her an email. No response. I sent it again. No response. If she was going to put a note in the box like that, she should honor her note.

I've seen these everywhere and was excited because the reviews were great. I've each one with different batteries and I'm super disappointed. Cuts great but doesn't seal. Even when following directions, even with going extremely slow or working in short areas. Even trying different types of bags, chips sandwhich bags etc

Does the job although the compact size means a short stroke so it takes a few minutes and a little sweat to pump up a flat tire. Overall good value for my money.

Angelina : Best Gadget Ever!
This is the neatest gadget to have in the kitchen. We use it on cereal bags since we don't eat it that much, it used to go stale, now..it's like opening a brand new box everytime. We also use it on crackers, spaghetti packages, bags of dried beans, etc. If you don't hold it down long enough to heat properly, you may need to go over it again, which takes only a minute or so. It's great and I definitely recommend them, and will definitely buy again! Perfect for the kitchen and camping!

This is a great little set to have in your kitchen! I used to have just one potato peeler that I used for any and all veggies and it was really dull over time. I opted for this set because it had some more versatility and hopefully will last longer since I’ll be using a few tools instead of just one. Recommend!

I can never find a bag sealer even though I pretty much buy them everytime I go shopping. I am so happy I purchased these sealers. The handy hook for hanging, the cutter and the heating sealer work great on my granddaughter's snacks! I keep one in my upstairs office in my office in case I get a hankering for some chips!

My 11yrs old son and I were so eager to try it.
It took me a while to figure out where the batteries go and l kept using the cut side to seal a bag.
It’s so simple to use, my son was saying : Really mama, you push and hold the heat side and then slide it to seal. We had so much fun sealing every bag in the house..

For me this is in my emergency tire repair kit for my bike. Have had two flats in the last 3 weeks all from little thorns along the trail. This this stores nicely on the bike and after patching the tire will get you up to riding pressure in about 5 minutes of vigorous pumping. 5 minutes gets it up to "get home riding" pressure. I've never tried to get the full 100lbs it claims ... but it does work very well or my purposes. comes with the tire tools to remove the tire from the rim. The whole package is easily carried on the bike or in a cargo shorts pocket. Couldn't recommend it more highly

I wasn't sure if this would work, since these bags are SO thin. It did take some practice, but the end product is even better than I had hoped. I'm really excited - I was skeptical that such an affordable option could perform well, but it far exceeded my hopes. This image is my Etsy item (an insulin pump case) in the cellophane bag. The corner is a *little* messy, but this is a first try and in a few practice bags it was perfect. Definitely give it a try!

I was tired of opening bags of crackers and chips and then having them become stale and soggy becasue they were not sealed properly. This little tool is the perfect solution! Just press down on one end to activate the heating element and slide it across the cellophane packaging to reseal it. Easy enough for kids to do. Does not work on some bag surfaces like paper with a coated interior lining but works on most others bags. It even has a convenient hook so that you can hang in in your cabinet for quick retrieval.

I had my doubts, especially with so many models out there to choose from. The sealing portion works very well with many different chip bags and cereal bags, we tried out a bunch. You have to go slow and it is a good idea to have fresh batteries. We noticed we were playing with it so much that our batteries started to die and the seal was not as good.
We also made the mistake of pressing too hard on the cutting side, and believe we may have bent the very tiny blade that cuts the bag open. Now it tears and rips instead of a clean razor blade cut, but we don't mind since we usually use scissors instead. Overall, for the low price we enjoyed this tiny innovation and the numerous opportunities to seal everything in our house.... I should note, I am to receive an Amazon e-gift card for writing this excellent review from mempedont_Service@outlook.com; but the aforementioned review is the truth.

This product is great at keeping food fresh! Make sure to press for a few seconds to preheat before using on a bag. The cutter is more challenging to use but I find just opening the bag like normal and then resealing is plenty easy. Great value for the money. I didn’t realize the listing included two. So now we keep one in the kitchen and one in the living room :)

This little easy to use tool works pretty good. I first used cheap batteries and it didn't seem to heat very well. so I put in some good quality batteries and it worked just as described. It warmed up fast and it sealed the plastic package good, in one swipe. The little cutter on the other side is a nice little extra. Good value for the money.

Maybe this is a user error, but doesn’t seal up as well as I had hoped. I bought this to reseal nail strips (dry nail strips) and I had many go bad on me. In the past I’ve always used a regular straight iron with no problems.
