Answer: Use something like a dinner knife and slip it under the PLUS end of the device to sort of pry it open. If you scroll down on the product page you can see a video of how to do it. You can also use your finger to apply downward and backwards (away from the device) to slide the cover off. It is difficult but can be done. Once you succeed once you will be able to do it thereafer. I saw something similar advertised on Facebook and have learned to check Amazon before I purchase anything because it's usually cheaper on Amazon. So, I found this package of two for less than the one item advertsed on FB and ordered them. They came quickly, and I inserted two AA batteries, and tried them out. They work like a charm, just as advertised. I like the little hangers attached so I can hang it inside my pantry door. I'm going to give the extra one to my son and his wife as a stocking stuffer.

This is the neatest gadget to have in the kitchen. We use it on cereal bags since we don't eat it that much, it used to go stale, now..it's like opening a brand new box everytime. We also use it on crackers, spaghetti packages, bags of dried beans, etc. If you don't hold it down long enough to heat properly, you may need to go over it again, which takes only a minute or so. It's great and I definitely recommend them, and will definitely buy again! Perfect for the kitchen and camping!

I wasn't sure if this would work, since these bags are SO thin. It did take some practice, but the end product is even better than I had hoped. The corner is a *little* messy, but this is a first try and in a few practice bags it was perfect. Definitely give it a try!

At first, I was hesitant. How could such a small pump fill my bicycle tires? But I gave it a chance... I am happy to report that IT WORKS!!! The pump is slim and very light. Mr. N : Good value for a lightweight compact bike pump
Pretty neat basic bike pump. Small enough to fit in a pocket or in my underseat bike pack. Seems pretty light weight and compact so if that is important to you, this checks those boxes. Durability has yet to be determined as we've only used it one time so far. Does the job although the compact size means a short stroke so it takes a few minutes and a little sweat to pump up a flat tire. Overall good value for my money.

I've seen these everywhere and was excited because the reviews were great. I've each one with different batteries and I'm super disappointed. Cuts great but doesn't seal. Even when following directions, even with going extremely slow or working in short areas. Even trying different types of bags, chips sandwhich bags etc

I had my doubts, especially with so many models out there to choose from. The sealing portion works very well with many different chip bags and cereal bags, we tried out a bunch. You have to go slow and it is a good idea to have fresh batteries. We noticed we were playing with it so much that our batteries started to die and the seal was not as good.
We also made the mistake of pressing too hard on the cutting side, and believe we may have bent the very tiny blade that cuts the bag open. Now it tears and rips instead of a clean razor blade cut, but we don't mind since we usually use scissors instead. Overall, for the low price we enjoyed this tiny innovation and the numerous opportunities to seal everything in our house.... I should note, I am to receive an Amazon e-gift card for writing this excellent review from mempedont_Service@outlook.com; but the aforementioned review is the truth.

My husband and kids are always leaving the chips open and laying around. When I saw this I thought I’ll give it a try. When I say buy it now I mean check out and get it now! I’ve saved so many bags of chips now and it only takes a few seconds to warm it up and reseal the bags. Super portable so take it on vacation in the car.

Maybe this is a user error, but doesn’t seal up as well as I had hoped. I bought this to reseal nail strips (dry nail strips) and I had many go bad on me. In the past I’ve always used a regular straight iron with no problems.

Love this little gadget. Believe it or not, I saw this on TikTok as an “Amazon product you didn’t know you needed”. Since my older sons are on their on at college, they eat a lot of pre-packaged items. So we got one for each boy as a stocking stuffer. They were actually excited to try them out so the boys went in our pantry, opened new bags of chips and crackers just to re-seal them. Lol! It works pretty good for such a small device. The cutter even works so the bags that are mostly empty aren’t as big and don’t take up as much room. My husband wants one for our house now. Guess we’re getting another one.

I purchased this tool because I was having to use a whole bag of clothes pins to close my different snack bags. The device has a cutter on one end and the sealer on the other. The arrows pointing to different ends I found to be confusing. The way I know which end is the cutter and which is the sealer is the cutter end has black pads and the sealer end has white pads.
I only needed one sealer so I am giving away the other one. My pantry looks much more organized now that my bags don't have clips on them.

I absolutely love these! I purchased them for a road trip we were taking so I could reseal all the chips and snacks we got so I didn't have to worry about freshness or stuff spilling everywhere. I left the other at home in our snack pantry and the teenager loves using it to keep his snacks fresh. I even used them on the bags I got from items I purchased as gifts. Also comes with bike tire removal tools and patches for tubes and needle for inflation of football, basketball, etc. only thing it lacks is an air pressure gauge, but this is a great little emergency inflator that includes hardware to mount to predrilled water bottle holes in bike.

So I bought this product because we always have chips or open bags that you can taste go stale. It is not the best thing to get home and want some and you taste them. Think about it, it ruins the taste for quite a while. I am very impressed though. We first got it and I sat there with no hope for it thinking this is going to be one of those things I will have forever, that will never work. But I figured I would give it a shot. It was difficult to use at first but what isn't when you first get it. If you hold it their longer you will have better luck with it. Slowly use the heater side pushing it across the bag and you should like it so much more. Keep in mind it takes time to get it perfect. The quicker you go the less you are letting it do its job. I would recommend this product to others like I have my friends and family including, that one grandma that you see every weekend that tells you don't forget to bring it with you. But now it stays at home because she is going to get one of her own. It is not for when you are in a rush it takes time but you will get the hang of it and love it as much as me and my grandma do!

This is a great little set to have in your kitchen! I used to have just one potato peeler that I used for any and all veggies and it was really dull over time. thought at first for 10.00 that this might not work. but i received 2 of them and they actually work pretty good,if your sealing something thick you might have to slide it slow for it to seal the first time but a couple of times my bag was kind of thick so i had to do it twice..but i like the fact you do not have to have so many chip clips in your kitchen..i really like mine especially when the kids are here i can reseal all their snack bags they dont finish eating..

First off looks simple and small and the way it was made is decent, light weight seems durable i love that you can hide the hose inside the pump housing. And use it for both Schrader and non Schrader valves and thats pretty awsome. Saves me on weight.

My husband and kids are always leaving the chips open and laying around. When I saw this I thought I’ll give it a try. When I say buy it now I mean check out and get it now! I’ve saved so many bags of chips now and it only takes a few seconds to warm it up and reseal the bags. Super portable so take it on vacation in the car.

Ordered this as a stocking stuffer but wanted to try it out to make sure it works and leave a review accordingly. The batteries are easy to install. It takes a little practice to get the hang of sealing bags but then you can’t stop until every bag is sealed in your pantry. I found it works better going from left to right on the package.

Plenty of snacking going on at this house and never have enough bag clips so I bought this handy gadget. Now all the cereal bags and potato chip bags remain sealed and the snacks fresh. The gadget is super easy to use: just press one end together for 5 seconds to heat it up then run it through the bag. Easy! The other end is used to cut open the seal. It runs on two batteries and has a little removable hook so you can hang it from a cabinet door and never lose it. Two gadgets were included, so I kept one for myself and gave the other one away, it was a total hit! So if you’re looking for a stocking stuffer this item would make a great gift.

First off the delivery was early so that was awesome, and secondly for as low a price and getting two of these in one purchase I’m very happy to have one as a back up. The setup was simple, pop in a couple double AA batteries, warm up and test. I tested with a little square cut out of a zip lock sandwich bag and it worked great after practicing a few times. I am excited to use it in the future and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a mini sealer for all intent and purposes. Thanks for the great product Mary!

Love this little gadget. Believe it or not, I saw this on TikTok as an “Amazon product you didn’t know you needed”. Since my older sons are on their on at college, they eat a lot of pre-packaged items. So we got one for each boy as a stocking stuffer. They were actually excited to try them out so the boys went in our pantry, opened new bags of chips and crackers just to re-seal them. Lol! It works pretty good for such a small device. The cutter even works so the bags that are mostly empty aren’t as big and don’t take up as much room. My husband wants one for our house now. Guess we’re getting another one.

I bought this to make small pouches for all of my daily pills and vitamins for home and when I travel. Saves me time to grab a single pouch and even take one with me if I’m running late. At first I didn’t think it was working right. What I found was on clear plastic bags you need to literally melt off the excess as you slide the sealer. The edge then seals properly as you slide it. I haven’t had an opportunity to use it on bags of snacks yet, but I’m sure it will work just as good.

Such a cool product and for such a great price! I'm still getting used to the sealing part but it's kind of fun to seal random snacks that are in my pantry and now I don't have to worry about food getting stale! Now I dont have to have a whole bunch of rubber bands or chip clips.

I absolutely love these! I purchased them for a road trip we were taking so I could reseal all the chips and snacks we got so I didn't have to worry about freshness or stuff spilling everywhere. I left the other at home in our snack pantry and the teenager loves using it to keep his snacks fresh. I even used them on the bags I got from items I purchased as gifts. It's a great all in one opener and reseller. Easy to use too.

taz : Very compact, works very well after a little practice
The best feature is it's small size. Easy to store in the pantry alongside the chips. The con is it is completely dependant on the user to get the speed of the sealer correct to seal different thickness bags. Faster for thin plastic a little slower for thicker bags. Once you get the feel of it you should be able to get a perfect seal every time. If you go too slow it will cut through, too fast and it won't seal completely. It takes a little practice.
Tracy : Doesn't get hot enough
This little sealer just doesn't get hot enough to seal standard bags. It seals ziploc bags ok, but they seal themselves anyway, right. I use 1-2 mil bags in my business and this won't seal the plastic no matter how slow I pull it. I let it warm up 5 seconds, then 10, and still no dice. I tried Duracell batteries - no better. Thinking it needed more power, I dropped a couple of 14450 batteries in it and it worked fine on a 2 mil bag, but it is still hard to get the line straight. I haven't tried it on chip bags; it may work fine for those. On the other end, the cutter is worthless. I had high hopes for this little sealer so I wouldn't have to have a large unit in my office, but if you need quality for business application you should look elsewhere.

Without this, we used to use clips to seal and cover the bags. This sealer helped a lot and very easy to use at the same time. The sealing is perfect and no hassle in my pantry with all sealed bags can be easily stacked. Otherwise, it used to be big mess earlier with all clips.

I really like this idea. We are constantly running out of, or breaking chip clips. I used a magnetic hook to hang the device conveniently on the refrigerator. It does seal the packages, but I often have to repeatedly go over the surface to get it sealed. Overall, I think I am more impressed by the idea of this product than I am the use of the product. I use it for now, but I can easily see myself going back to chip clips in the future.

I love this little gadget. It hangs on my cabinet where it is always handy, and it's easy to use. It doess have a slight learning curve, as different bag thicknesses and materials may require different pressure and speed. To open, you can either use the cutter-end or just pull apart. It seals better than twist-ties or rubber bands, and I think it also keeps your snacks, cereal, etc fresher. Plus mine was a two-pack so the second one was a great gift for my sister!

I’ve sent an email to the seller which she requested if you aren’t satisfied because according to her sympathy plea she makes .6 cents per item so in her words “please do not review me before letting me make things right” well she never made it right in fact she never replied back at all.
No worries though the money was a drop in the bucket, just thought this would be a cute tool for mom. But no such luck

A good product for the money, got 2 for the price of one. The sealer does a pretty good job of sealing. You have to go over the area to seal several times. You also have to make sure the bag is flat with no wrinkles otherwise it doesn't fully reseal
