Answer: It’s made of soft netting material with round rings to give it shape. If your put shop elbow grease and make it where the water/current doesn’t fold or collapse on itself. There’s a pressure button to widen or close the opening of the basket. I used mine to keep live baits like minnows and shads to keep them alive in the water.... made a ring using the foam water noodle to keep it afloat.

Answer: We never used in salt water. Im not sure so i cant tell you
Answer: That’s why I purchased one. For the price, it’s ok. The metal rings are steel and will rust quickly. The fabric tears easily as well.

This is great. I use it with my kayak. Fish can be put in and the fish stay alive. Whats good is if you decide not to keep the fish. They can be let go with no harm to the fish. It works just loke a live well. I love it. Way better than a stringer. No harm to the fish and they stay alive and well.

Excellent Mesh Fishing Cage. Really a great fish cage, It is designed in perfect construction. Fold up flat when not in use, easy to storage. It is so safe to keep fish inside with the drawstring tied up. The materials are so durable, so perfect. I buy it for my husband, he likes it SO MUCH. I am so Happy.

I used it once in the surf - i attach the basket to a re-bar rod holder , and put my fish in it. The surf , of course rocks in around. I bought a different brand ( and more expensive ) which i couldnt find this year - but this one , is already started to tear. My bet is this thing is made for not as rough an environment, as the surf. But , in the surf , or off bob hall pier, nope.

When it arrived I was surprised how fragile and flimsy it looks. But now we've used it once and it does the job. I tied a long cord to the handle and dangle it from a tree branch into the water when shore fishing. It easily holds more than 30 panfish and keeps them alive. Most importantly, it fits inside a 5 gal bucket so you can carry fish around without spreading slime. Time will tell how durable it is. Edit: After using it several times the answer is not durable enough. When we had it in the water and weren't watching it closely a turtle chewed a big hole in the mesh to get at the fish inside.
