JonTheCanadian : Great little net

There is a great problem when you are looking for a net for Kayaking. It needs to be small enough but big enough for the fish you plan to catch. In the attached photo, there are Northern Pike in those waters, that fight you and need enough room to land in - while not killing themselves. For such aggressive looking fish, they sure are fragile.

I am pleased with this net. It's fairly lightweight. I packed it on top of a duffle bag I had and it fit perfectly. Then, I moved it to the Kayak and left it with the watercraft for the rest of the trip until it was time to pack up. As you can see in the photo, I just tucked it under the deck lines and grabbed it when it was time to land a fish. I also used the handly clip that it comes with to make sure that if it goes over (or more likely, I do), it'll stay with the kayak and my investment will be saved.

I love the rubber netting too. It helps lures to not get too tangled (or pierce the stupid netting - I'm looking at you, woven nets) and it keeps things pretty clean. Easy on the fish, easy to handle and easy to maintain. Thumbs up!

Billh : A great net at a very reasonable price.

This super affordable net is great! It is pretty large for landing our large Alaska rainbow trout and the rubbery net bag is a lot more trout friendly than the more traditional netting material. Lands fish just as well as those nets that cost over $100. It might weigh just a little more, but the cost savings is worth it.

I've not had this net next to an expensive one, but if you look at nothing but price, this is a killer deal. The wood craft is solid, but mine has yet to see water. If you're just getting into fly fishing, and want to spend your money on important things like Rods, Reels, Line, and flies for your specific area and type of fish, pick one of these up. If it only lasts a season, it is not money wasted.

I had previously bought this net used on amazon for 20 bucks and it showed why. The molding and finish of the net wasn’t very clean. I ended up ripping the rubber netting and and losing it in the same day but I decided to give it another shot... I bought a new one full price this time and it was much nicer than the used one I got before! I’ve used it a couple times already and it’s a really nice net for the price. I love the deepness of it and it’s pretty durable so far.
