Does this product support 220v voltage? will it require an adapter if supported?

Answer: The AC to DC adaptor used to charge the widget states that it can handle 100v - 240v input, so you should be able to use 220V.

Answer: It works in the normal 120 outlets but I’m not sure about 220. I am very satisfied with this product. It makes resealing the new zip bags a breeze.

How can i get the charging dock for this item?

Answer: A charger should have been with the unit, the one I ordered had one with it. Check out Amazon to ask why yours didn’t.

are these bags suitable for use in freezer.?

Answer: Absolutely! And they last through several reuses!

Will this work with other brands of sealer bags?

Answer: Should work with any brand that has the small hole to draw out the air.

Is this compatible with the mason jar sealer? Would love to not have to pull the big sealer out every time I need to reseal a mason jar.

Answer: Yes it is and very easy to use.

Do you have to have a hose to attach to the jar lid sealer, or will it just fit down on it?

Answer: The unit does not come with a hose to attach to a jar lid. It works very well with zip-lock bags. It should be possible to use the unit the same way with a jar lid, but I have not tried it for that. You can leave the power cord attached to the unit when in use if you like.

Answer: Look on the side of the hand unit— the charging cord may plus directly into it with no separate “dock”. I wondered the same thing when I received mine, then found the port on the side!????

Does this work on the older Foodsaver containers? We had the older system that came with the containers, but the sealer died and we replaced it.

Answer: Don't know about your older containers but I have 2 containers from older foodsaver machine and handheld vacuum works fine with them. Containers have opening on top where foodsaver tubing went and new vacuum fits perfectly.

Desert Birder : Compact alternative for vacuum sealing

I bought this item because it gave me an alternative to using the larger Foodsaver machine for removing air from zipper lock Foodsaver bags (that do not require heat to seal them). The unit is surprisingly small and compact, but has the power needed to extract air from quart or gallon Foodsaver bags. I've found it to be a quick and easy to use, and I store it on the counter (plugged in to the charger cord). I haven't tried it on other Foodsaver containers, so I can only recommend it for use with the bags.

This little appliance for my kitchen is worth it's weight in gold when it comes to saving money on food. Instead of getting the large food saver out, I can just use this little magic appliance to quickly seal many foods to make them last longer. Cookies taste like they just came out of the oven a week later!

Super quiet but takes a lot longer to suck the air out of a bag. Remember to always be sure the bag is zipped tightly before removing the air and when the sucking is done, run your thumb over the sealing strip to be sure it's tightly sealed.

I love this for guacamole. Keeps it from getting brown for almost 2 weeks.

I couldn't keep lettuce or tomatoes more than day or two. Whole tomatoes or salad mix in bag now 4 or 5 days, take out what you want then reseal. Great.

I didn't want to spend the money on a big food saver unit until I was sure I'd actually continue to vacuum seal food so this works well as my beginner unit. I bought mason jar attachments (necessary to vacuum seal jars) and use this by taking the bottom cap off and using the vacuum directly on the attachment. It works great, i suggest getting a full size food saver if you'll be doing a ton of jars but for a few at a time this is a much cheaper alternative. It also came with a sample of zip bags that are specially designed to be vacuum sealed with this unit, came in super handy to vacuum seal any left over oxygen absorbers I wasn't going to use right then.

Had a different model of this handheld Food Saver for years...finally wore out. Purchased this one and am very happy with it. I reuse the bags...sometimes by popping into a bag in my freezer not always washing them. For bacon and cheese...no problem.
